This shoe just looks fast, and that's just what it's made for. Brooks has developed DNA FLASH, their nitrogen infused DNA foam unlike any combination of lightweight and responsive cushion they've developed up to this point. A no-nonsense woven upper conforms nicely to the foot during all of your training, speedwork, racing and everything in between. With the durability to go the distance and the weight and energy return to challenge some segment crowns on Strava, Brooks has written the newest path to the most fun you've had running in some time.

Best running shoes I’ve had in years

These run true to size and are by far the lightest running shoes I’ve ever worn. Before these, I had been wearing the New Balance 1080 v9, which I have enjoyed, but are not well-suited to quicker runs and speed workouts, as they are very well cushioned (I also have been experiencing heel slippage in that version, and am not crazy about the v10 redesign due to the collar). In the past, I have also worn the New Balance 860 and 880, and for a long time ran in the Brooks Ghost, and before that, a long time in the ASICS Gel-Cumulus. I like a neutral shoe, and am a supinator with medium-high arches. I’ve found shoes these days are trending towards very cushioned, and I wanted to move back to something firmer and faster. First of all, the Hyperion Tempos are very sleek looking, more so than any running shoes I’ve had before. The tongue is super thin, which I thought would be a problem, but has not bothered my feet in the slightest. The laces are very light and grooved to better hold a knot, but are stretchy in a way that took some getting used to. The foam has very good traction on dry ground, but definitely underperforms on wet ground, and squeaks. While the foam is firm, I have never thought these need more cushion - however, that may change if you’re running more than 5-6 miles. I definitely feel lighter and faster in these, and while I can’t say yet how durable they are, in my experience Brooks shoes are some of the most well-constructed out there. I definitely plan on purchasing these again when the time comes.

Comfortable, minimal type shoe

I have a different colored pair of Hyperion Tempos that I love. They are minimalist shoes for neutral cadence. They have lasted thru 22 miles but are more comfortable for shorter distances (< 15 miles). I changed to hyperions since the Ghost 15 were uncomfortable (more stiff than previous versions).

Dissappointed is an understatement, expect more from Brooks

I have worn numerous pairs of Brooks and was really looking forward to these as I have had to use a different brand of sneaker for certain training and race days. I was expecting a nice cushiony feel and was hoping for increased performance. However, the shoes fell flat in both areas. The cushion felt minimal. It says they have an 8mm drop but they felt very flat to me. After each run my legs just felt horrible, more tired than normal. I ended up replacing the insole with a different one and it helped a little but not much.Pros: Very LightweightCons: Not much cushion, uncomfortable fit, legs felt horrible after runs

Excellent Shoe
3 March 2023

Love these shoes! They great for short or very long runs. I never have sore feet and have been injury free since I started buying these. This is my 4th pair! The only complaint that I have is that my right toe always seems to break though the material in a short amount of time. I’ve tried all the tricks to try to stop it with a new pair and nothing seems to work. I do wish they’d go on sale or drop the price slightly as I seem to purchase a pair often. I do still love them as the feel great and are super lightweight.

Excellent speedwork, training, or race shoe
19 April 2023

I have multiple pairs of the Hyperion Tempo and buy more every time it goes on sale because I love it so much. It is so light on my feet, and hugs so well. Love the stretchy material on the upper. I run noticeably faster in this shoe, sometimes when I'm trying not to. I think it runs true to size, but is a bit narrow on the forefoot. It took several weeks for the toebox to loosen up and for my smaller toes to stop going numb, but after the break-in period it's dreamworthy. I run 35 miles a week, and use this shoe for my long training runs and speed workouts. I wear the Ghost for my easy runs. Perfect half-marathon shoe.

tried ascis, nikes, adidas - all of these were so uncomfortable.my all time favorite running shoes were the nike frees few years ago but sadly discontinued. These are good replacement. if you are like me, tried on 15 + shoes... why not try this one lol. they are not restrictive so allow one to run faster.

Love at second sight
24 March 2023

Ordered these without trying anything similar on. When they first came I was worried because the instep didn't seem well supported. I was iffy on my first run and wondered if I might need to put different insoles in the shoes. Fast forward to me 3rd run in them and I PR'd a 10 miler. Looking forward to wearing them in an upcoming half marathon and hoping to drop a significant amount of time! I ordered another pair to have on hand in the future. My all time favorite running shoe was the Brooks Pure Flow 6 and these feel like a close relative. I did see reviews that the laces are very stretchy and it's true, takes a minute to adjust to perfect cinch but then you're golden.

My New Muse

The best shoe.Super comfortable and great for speed workouts and mileage. Even though it is not carbon plated, the energy return is fantastic. I ran several PBs with this shoe and just felt like I was running more efficiently.I am also impressed with its durability. I have more than 400km on these shoes and I am just starting to feel some wear. I do however have to warn that the shoe fits on the narrow side. If you have wide feet, I suggest going with a larger width.

So light yet supportive!
13 May 2022

I adore these shoes. They are so light yet give just the right amount of support. I run about 4 -5 miles per run, several times a week and my feet never tire nor feel heavy in these. I love the look as well! Have used these for three months now and zero issues nor was there a breaking in period. I used to prefer zero lift, barefoot shoes and honestly still do, but was beginning to have foot pain from years of running with no padding. These shoes are the next best thing and I foresee buying many more pairs in the future!

These are my magic shoes!!
9 September 2020

You know in Forest Gump, when he says "they was my magic shoes"...? Well he must have time traveled to this epic year of 2020 and tried a pair of these Hyperion Tempo"s from Brooks. These are the most light, comfortable runners I've owned, and my husband can attest to my enormous collection from various brands... Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to these marshmallow-y heaven sent hoof holders! Can you give 14 stars?? I wish.Anyways, out of the box they weigh less than the patience I have left this year (ie: next to 0), and the fit exactly to size. A little narrower in the toe box compared to the ghost or launch but not a lot, and they do stretch and form a bit with wear. My flat, wide feet do just fine. No pinch points. The laces are stretchy yet don't come ... MoreYou know in Forest Gump, when he says "they was my magic shoes"...? The laces are stretchy yet don't come loose (they are quite long though). The foam looks and feels like styrofoam, but you won't be bothered once you head out on that first run.Folks, I actually work at a competitive sports store where I can get most shoes at cost, but they don't sell Brooks... I happily paid full price and would pay even more for these (and I'm cheap as heck). These are amazing. They seem to propel you forward and helped my form instantly. Zero rubbing or issues even on a 15k run straight out of th box. My easy pace has shrunk about 30sec/km instantly (seriously) and every run has been enjoyable.11/10 will be buying as many pairs as I can, so if you need a women's 9, I'm sorry, I bought them all.
