Best Active Person Shoes

I purchased this shoe 5 weeks ago and love it. I’m an avid walker and over several years have tried different brands of shoes. I always end up back with Brooks shoes. When I walk, I usually walk anywhere from 6 to 8 miles at one time. Brook shoes never fail me. The heel keeps the spring in my step and the arch support does what it should; supporting my arch. Other shoes left my feet hurting while Brooks keeps them feeling great. I can’t say enough good things about them. They keep me active which is really important at the age of 65. My suggestion, save yourself money and just buy Brooks. I have converted several people and, like me, they will always stick with Brooks.

So disappointed with these shoes. I previously ran in a pair of Adrenaline GTS 20’s and they were the best shoes I’ve ever had, so when it was time for a change I figured I’d pick up a newer model on sale. I’m not sure what’s happened since the 20’s but every run I’ve tried with these has given me unbelievable cramping in my feet and calves within a couple of km’s that wasn’t present when running in my 20’s in the days prior to using these. I’m now having to rehab my legs and feet so I can get back into it again with a different pair of shoes.I will say that they’re very comfortable as walking and gym shoes, but I can’t recommend them for running. Shame I can’t return them, so I’ll just be switching to a different brand now so I can run again.

Great still after many generations
19 February 2024

I have been wearing the mens Adrenaline for at least five or six generations. They make small tweaks each time, but generally the shoe is consistent as a lightweight, stability shoe for mild pronators. They are stylish and breathe very well. I run on average around 30 miles per week and these tend to last me around 6 months. As this is my 2nd pair of GTS 22s, I can affirm that they have the same small structural problem as the others where the fabric tears around the back heal top and the foam starts to come out. Easy fix with some gear tape.

If the shoe fits, and the podiatrist recommends it
31 May 2024

After experiencing persistent foot discomfort during my runs, I sought advice from a podiatrist who referred me for scans, surprise, surprise, I had bone bruising and was on the trail to stress fractures! The podiatrist recommended the Adrenaline GTS 22 based on my gait and something about my foot strike I didn't quiet understand. I decided to purchase these based on that professional advice, and I am pleased to report significant improvements. These shoes have provided excellent support and cushioning, aligning perfectly with the unique needs of my feet. The design ensures stability and has remarkably reduced the strain on my feet during runs. Thanks to these shoes, my running sessions are now more comfortable and enjoyable. My Go-To-Shoe isn't as good as it used to be...
28 October 2023

I've been wearing Adrenalines for over 15 years now - and have seen a series of good and bad iterations of this model. I'm limited for choice because my feet are hobbit-wide, my mileage is silly-high, and my gait is pretty unique. Adrenalines were pretty much perfect around about the 19 version. 21s were also good. These 22s are overall fractionally smaller sized allover, soles thinner and harder, heel drop seems less, and the volume within the shoe is a lot smaller - meaning insoles, heelpads and orthotics are harder to accommodate. The soft lining of the heel counter is already disintegrating, with foam stuffing stuck to my socks after each run. I'm not massively impressed in any way with them. Hoping the 23 model will be a return to good times!

Not the quality shoe they used to be
8 May 2024

I've been wearing Adrenaline 19-22 and I have sung their praises but they're getting worse every year. The inner lining is so cheap now it wears down to the reveal the hard plastic skeleton. Absolutely unacceptable. I love the lightness of the shoe but the structure around the toes quickly gets out of shape and looks sloppy. The mid sole also seems to wear quicker and leaves me with sore feet under the ball of my big toe.Aesthetically I love them (all black FTW) but I'm fed up with these consistent quality issues and on the cusp of going to Asics.

Overpronation affects whole body. Solution = Brooks
23 May 2023

I wanted the Beasts but sold out. Adrenaline are next best for moderate to severe overpronation. I'm tall & around 15 stone. My long distance run days are probably no more but my flat feet remain. Spending most days on them means being acutely aware of how sciatica impacted my mobility last year. The combo of flat feet & ongoing healing of lower back nerve damage meant that cutting corners with cheap footwear is of a greater physical cost in the long run 😊 Am more a gym, bike & swim person but in the last couple of weeks these Adrenalines are like overdue medicine for the body. The arch support is what's needed, plus the all round comfort makes these Brooks feel like the equivalent of a high end orthopedic mattress for feet. The expense is a shame but I'll only get ... MoreI wanted the Beasts but sold out. Adrenaline are next best for moderate to severe overpronation. I'm tall & around 15 stone. They're the thinking person's go to shoe.

Very disappointed.
29 December 2023

I’ve been a huge fan of the Adrenaline GTS series, owning several pairs of both the 20’s and 21’s (the 21’s being among my favourite shoes ever). I’ve been extremely disappointed by the design changes for the 22. There is a noticeable drop in construction quality, even down to shipping with shorter, low quality laces. Whatever has been done to change the support in the sole has caused a lot of pain in my ankles and arches, to the point where I needed to stop wearing these to avoid injury. The bounciness and overall comfort from the 21’s just isn’t there. I tried my best to make adjustments to the lacing and break-in the shoes, but gave up and have had to donate these shoes… ended up buying another pair of 21’s while they were on sale. great shoes
31 October 2023

Have been using these shoes for some light running just to get back into things as well as pilaties and yoga and they've been great. I enjoy the stretchy springy laces. They're comfy. They've got some design stuff to help with stability that the store reps can tell you about. And I'm glad the running room does the 30 day indoor trial then brooks does a 90 day version. Makes me more likely to try something new if I know I won't end up in bad shoes. All shoes seem to be getting expensive though. Not Brooke's specifically but all in general. They're at least cost less. But they seem to be made great.
