The area that seems less consistent is giving each shoe a visual impact and a sense of fashion. But I've been willing to give that up in favor of the other metrics. My son persuaded me to go to Athletes Foot and be professionally fitted. I was at first reluctant as I’d always tried to save money and buy myself less expensive shoes. After being fitted with Brooks runners I realised that my past practice was such a false economy, as the cheaper ill fitting shoes ended up costing me more in the end. Doctors and podiatry appointments, to try to rectify the issues caused by the cheaper ill fitting runners. Not to mention the discomfort. I’ve been wearing Brookes runners for a few years now, wish I’d purchased them sooner!

Brooks Ghost 14 Running/Walking Shoes both versatile and comfortable all around shoe for work and play
20 November 2022

I needed a stable shoe for both work and my regular daily walking that would be comfortable all day long. I found a professional review which indicated these sneakers were top rated for both activities, as well as running, and would fit the bill. After trying them on, I found them to be very comfortable with a springy heel. I chose the wide version given that I have arthritis in my big toe and have need the extra space. It is a stable shoe across various terrains and the cushioning is very good. They have a breathable mesh for ventilation and well they may be okay in a very light rain, they are not waterproof. So, if you have a lot of activity in very rainy weather, you would be better off to look for a waterproof sneaker. GTX worked for me and differences between this shoe and the Adrenaline GTS 22
21 December 2022

I was running with my Adrenaline GTS 22 for almost a year and the difference between the gts22 and the Ghost 14 gtx is night and day. I didn't know that the GTS22 are stability shoes and my feet didn't like them for runs. My feet absolutely got pleased after I put on the Ghost 14 gtx and had a much more pleasant running, with way more bounce, way more cushion and a nice roll that gets me going cause its curved-up tip. I also learned that if you're gonna be lifting at the gym you should be as barefoot as possible so working out in the ghost 14gtx is comfortable but definitely not best. I rather work out with the Adrenaline GTS 22 cause they're kinda flat compared to the ghost14gtx, but I absolutely much rather run with the Ghosts14gtx rain or sunshine.As for the GTX ... MoreI was running with my Adrenaline GTS 22 for almost a year and the difference between the gts22 and the Ghost 14 gtx is night and day. I immediately felt the "wet" sensation but it was just the temperature. I was so surprised to find out that my feet and the inside of the shoe were dry. I did get some water on the edges of my socks, ankle level but no biggie.Also, I read about the laces in other reviews and they are true, they do untie a lot, especially during rainy runs. I had to super tighten them up and it's not a deal breaker at all. The laces feel kinda waxy at first and are slippery maybe cause of that sort of material.I walk 30 minutes to walk so these are my go-to commute shoes and have only used them when it's rainy. If it's dry outside I'll rotate them with my Adrenaline GTS 22 that are more visually appealing and a better choice for working out at the gym (trying to get chucks tho)The feeling inside is slightly warmer, firmer and harder because of the GTX formula so I don't think I will be using them during the summer, besides they're mostly black and probably get a regular Ghost next year, we'll see.But overall a great shoe I'm pleased with so far!

High Arches? No Problem!
2 August 2022

(Sorry for the length, but these were Awesome!) After a lot of research into the best athletic shoes for a few of the physiological (foot and back) issues I have, I decided to try Brooks instead of my lifelong go-to of NB.Due to high arches and my active lifestyle, I developed Morton's Neuroma between my second and third toes, which causes ball of foot pain, tingling, and eventual numbness. I also suffer from lower lumbar spinal stenosis and cannot walk on concrete or other hard surfaces for any distance/length of time without developing a back ache or painful spasms.Recommendation, without going to plain orthotic shoes, was to have maximum arch support, roomy toebox, and plenty of cushioning. Brooks provides all of these features. I was able to walk for a few hours upon the first time wearing them, and I did not suffer the pain and tingling at the ball of my foot, nor did my feet ache in my arch area! Additionally, my back was not in pain; this was a first in years.Amazing! I definitely recommend these for anyone with foot issues like Morton's Neuroma, high arches, or plantars faciatis and painful back problems such as spinal stenosis. (At least, they helped my lower lumbar area, but I cannot verify cervical stenosis assistance.)Finally, I normally wear 8.5-9, M width. I order 9 in athletic shoes due to feet sometimes swelling after long hikes/walks, as well as allowing warmer, thicker socks. Brooks, size 9M, fit perfectly and give enough room for all of my needs!

I would not recommend purchasing these. Definitely not when your looking for a $160 pair of shooes. You can get the same quality at $50 anywhere else.
16 December 2022

I was a huge Brooks shooes fan. Had them for years. I ware them all day at work and tobthe gym. I have had them since Thanksgiving. This review is on 12/16 almost a month later. After purchasing these at $160 i think i may be switching. For the price, these are not worth it. I had the Ghost 13 and they were the most comfortable shoes I ever wore. The shoes rub the top of my toes when walking, to the point where i have to take them off throughout the day. The padding under the toes is very uncomfortable and has a popping feeling when walking. After running on the treadmill there is like a burn at the bottom of my foot. I cant wait to take them off when I het home. My gost 13 after 2 years old are still more comfortable then these even though they are falling apart.

LACES=FRUSTRATION // QUESTIONABLE DURABILITY?

First off, I never review any products online, but the laces on this particular shoe have caused me so much frustration that I was motivated to create this review.Secondly, I've OWNED and LOVED the prior series of Ghost...I owned 3 of the prior series and had no issues--I thought I would purchase this series until its discontinuation...The laces on these shoes comes loose/untied EVERYDAY. I have to re-tie my shoes (with a double knot) 1 or 2 times on a hourlong walk...Either I no longer know how to tie shoes, or there is something significantly flawed with the lacing materials...Upon reading the other reviews here, I guess I will try a different lace.The durability of this particular set of shoes is not lasting as long as previous series. My usage hasn't changed, but I feel that the durability of this shoe is about 1/2 as long lasting as the prior Ghost series that I've owned. At about 3 months into owning these (at aprox 20mi/week), I'm seeing significant wear on the outsole...Not sure if that is within acceptable wear tolerance or not...Shoe is comfortable; I like the fit, but my feet run on the narrow side. Shoe is waterproof.I understand with the Economy, that is is difficult to procure materials (that are cost effective) to build products...it feels to me like the materials used in this Ghost series are not the same as was used in prior series. Maybe I'm completely wrong, and the laces issue has clouded my judgement of this shoe...Not sure if I will purchase from Brooks going forward...

However, these worked out perfectly in a 7.5 (my feet are of an average width). I am very much satisfied with this shoe that I bought my mom a pair and it’s all she wears now. It is also worth the price for the comfort ,quality and support. Don’t think I’ll even buy another brand again.

The toes are really messing up the way I walk and they get numb after a while and they are all misshapen. My right foot is bigger than my left as is for many people. I also need arch support as I realize I am developing planters fasciitis and also noticing now on top of all of these other problems getting slightly crooked big toes and when I looked it up it matched at the beginning of bunions on both feet. Never had feet problems but I have to admit that I spent my youth for years and lots and lots of high heels as a matter of fact I had a child late in life and realized when I decided to stay home permanently that I had no comfortable flat shoes. I used to get cramps in my calves when I wore flat shoes because my legs were so used to being propped up on heels. Therefore I now pay the price on top of all these other issues I never thought I would find sneakers that would support my feet on my walks and allow for my knees and hips to feel less painful. I am a 57 year old female 5 foot four probably about 165 pounds. My frame is small so that is all very overweight for me. I wear about a size 12. I am giving these details so others may relate. These shoes really give my toes room without being too big. terrific arch support. I will update if they don’t hold up overtime but so far they seem pretty well-made. I typically wear about a 7 1/2 in most shoes but I find that I have to size up and sneakers so that the toes don’t rub but sometimes then they look huge and left foot can be a little bit to loose but these seem to work just perfectly fine. my feet are of an average width not wide at all and I would say the back of my heel is a little bit narrow. very satisfied with this shoe and it is worth the price for the comfort , Quality and support.
