I have been wearing a pair of Ghost 2 for years. It was still going strong, but I figured that pair must be well past its recommended life by now and a new pair of shoes was in order. After a lot of conversation with Brooks representatives via the chat feature on the website, I bought 3 pairs of shoes to compare: Trace 2, Trace 3, and Ghost 15. Both pairs of Trace shoes were beautiful but didn't provide the fit and comfort I was hoping for (reviewed separately and will be returned). The Ghost 15 were comfortable, and I have kept them. They fit almost as well as the Ghost 2. I got the black, which is necessary for some of my activities, so I can't say they are beautiful in the sense that colored shoes are, but they are handsome, and I have received compliments on them. The shoes fit well, even with an orthotic inserted, and are comfortable all day. Importantly, they provide adequate room for my toes, which many shoes do not. I do exercise in them, indoors. Running isn't part of my life (I'm elderly, and running is a thing of the past), but walking certainly is, and these cause no pain. Sometimes when my feet swell, the shoe laces become too tight and bruise the tops of my feet, but that is inevitable in laced shoes that don't stretch. Overall I'm pleased with the Ghost 15.

Disappointed!!!
11 October 2024

This is at least the 4th or 5th pair of Ghosts that I have purchased. I absolutely LOVED the first pair I tried on, and the same for all the others....except this one. This pair feels cheaply made, and I don't have nearly as much support as the others did. My feet feel like they are sliding around in the front of the shoes, they feel wider even though they are not a wider with. Tying them tighter does not really work, and I shouldn't have to resort to that. Previous pairs felt super supportive and well made. These feel cheap. I wonder if it's because of the new "Max" version. These have to be made cheaper in order to encourage you to buy the more expensive pair. Not for me, they are expensive enough as it is. (I've had enough pairs to know what size I needed, it's ... MoreThis is at least the 4th or 5th pair of Ghosts that I have purchased. Good show for running, Terrible durability
19 November 2023

The latest three iterations of the Brooks Ghost are terrible quality. After just 100 miles the exterior has holes in it. The Brooks rep tried to tell me it is because I run pigeon toed or the shoe size is wrong and I need to size up. Gate analysis and video evidence I didnt suddenly start running like a pigeion. Like a dingus, I let them talk me into a larger size despite 10 years of having worn the same size. oh the new one run smaller he said. I sized up and felt like bozo the clown in shoes that were too big. All my previous Brooks and other brands fit just fine at the normal size. So I went back to the shoe that is "too small" and they fit fine, they just have horrid durability. Brooks is a nice shoe to run in, just be prepared to replace them A LOT. NOT as good arch support and cushion as Ghost 13; Also poor quality control.
13 March 2024

The Ghost 15s have less arch support and less cushion than the 13s. The 13s were amazing, and consistent across all the colors I tried at the time. I have tried 5 different Ghost 15s at the store (different colors, same size). They each fit differently. Only 1 - the Empower with the parchment/Lilac - fit well enough to purchase (and only ones I tried that were not on sale!). This is SO disappointing. I went to 5 stores and tried everything recommended for high arch/high drop, neutral. Even though this is much less comfortable than than the 13s, it was unfortunately my best option for running. I also purchased the Trace 3 for everyday wear, which feels fantastic (and fits similar to the Ghost 13s). Still a Ghost lover!

BACKGROUND: 63 year old female, with narrow feet, who started running 12 years ago. I tried a couple other brands of shoes, but nothing compares to Brooks Ghost. My first pair was Ghost 4 and I have continued with them ever since! I went from wearing Brooks shoes (Ghost and Glycerin) only for running, to now wearing them every day for casual wear. I've had plantar fasciitis and foot injuries as I've aged, so now I take brisk walks instead of running, and no other shoes make my feet feel this good. My doctor and podiatrist both wear Ghost daily in their jobs (on their feel all day) and recommend them for proper support and comfort.PROS: Fit like a glove! Very comfortable amount of cushioning with good support. The 12 mm drop in Ghost is also preferable for plantar fasciitis. For the perfect fit, I've always ordered Brooks shoes a full size larger than my dress shoes. Ghost is one of only a handful of brands/models made in a narrow width, which I need. The narrow width keeps my foot snug from sliding, but there is still ample toebox room, so no pinching or rubbing there, even when my feet get hot or swollen. I love the blue (peacoat) color on my Ghost 15, as I wear jeans most of the time and they go great with them. So often, any narrow shoes only come in plain black, so I love when there are good color options. Wish there were more color choices in narrow!CONS: A couple of the changes I've seen with Brooks shoes over the years have been disappointing:(1) is in the vertical interior back part of the heel. Old models of Brooks shoes had sturdier (but still soft and comfortable) fabric, a bit over an inch wide, inserted in the vertical back of the inside heel. That was discontinued and since then, shoes just have the very fine lining fabric throughout the inside. This fine fabric wears out quickly in the heel area from the heel rubbing against it, and I've developed holes through it and the padding underneath in other Ghost models, sometimes within the first 100 miles. It hasn't happened yet with this pair, but I don't have many miles on them yet. Please bring back the sturdier fabric insert in the heel lining!2) the shoelaces. I loved the shoelaces on old models that were round and a bit stretchy. I never had to re-tie them, nor replace them. Though these flat laces on the Ghost 15 are a big improvement over earlier ribbon laces that were slick and untied constantly, they aren't are good as the old rounder laces.OVERALL: I highly recommend Brooks shoes. For me, Ghost and Glycerin models in narrow width, provide the perfect fit and comfort all day! Thank you, Brooks, for making narrow shoes that my feet love!

They are not just for Running!

I'm not a runner I'm a walker and these shoes are wonderful! They were comfortable right out of the box. They have good cushioning and are a delight to walk in. I did have to do a little 'running' to get out of the way of someone while wearing these shoes and I thought 'Hey these are nice running shoes too!' Running/walking either way you are good to go. I've worn Brooks shoes for years and have been very happy with them. I have a pair of the waterproof ones for my rainy day walks. I even use them walking in the snow/ice - I attach my 'spike strips' to them and they work great! I've noticed in the last two years reviews have suggested that you order 1/2 size up - I heeded this advice and was glad I did otherwise I think they would have been a bit too small. I've noticed in the last few years the shoelaces weren't long enough and didn't want to stay tied. I can report the shoelaces on this shoe are long enough, however they still come untied. I make a point to really cinch them down, but they still come untied fairly frequently. I may have to do the double knot routine which solves the problem, but it's a hassle. I hope Brooks in the future will have some blueish teal colored shoes, I always look for that color first. My second choice is a blue color of some sort. I got the 'Pea Coat' navy blue color this time which looks great with jeans. Here's the bottom line - you will be happy with the Ghost 15. Give it a try.

Worst Ghosts I have ever worn!
22 May 2024

I have been wearing Brooks Ghosts for years. My first pair were the Brooks Ghost 7's. I have always found them to be a comfortable, reliable shoe. I have run half and full Marathons in these shoes without any issues. So I bought the 15's online, thinking they would be the same as all of the other models. How wrong I was!The shoe feels like it's a bigger, even though it's the same size I have always worn. The toe box area seems to now be wider, which is no good for my narrow feet, there feels like there is absolutely no cushioning under the ball of the foot...AND the insole keeps slipping to the side in the shoe while I am running in them, so I have to stop and take off my shoe to re-adjust the insole.I'm REALLY disappointed in this shoe. They just feel cheap ... MoreI have been wearing Brooks Ghosts for years. My first pair were the Brooks Ghost 7's. I have always found them to be a comfortable, reliable shoe. They just feel cheap and nasty compared to every other Ghost I have owned.
