I have had only one jam and use the double sided printing very often. It is also wonderful to highlight a printed document and the ink no smear - a feature of lazer as opposed to inkjet.

This printer is easy to set up, but with one problem. We have two iMacs, and the first printer install went fast and easy. I never could get an independent print queue set up on the second iMac, but had to enable the SHARE feature on the first iMac. This allows both iMac to have access to the Borther printer, but the primary Mac has to be ON or the 2nd iMac has no access. I still gave the printer 5 stars, because this seems to be a software problem, not a printer problem. My old Lexmark allowed two independent queues on the two iMacs. All in all, the Brother is an exceptional value and a great printer.

I haven't been able to figure out why yet, but I don't have time to stand there and feed in 30-40 sheets of paper one at a time. My last all-in-one was much more accessible and easy to use, but this time I didn't want a color printer, just black and white. I've had problems in the past with Brother technology but I thought I would give them another chance since it's been quite a while. I'm afraid this experience hasn't changed my previous opinion of Brother products.

And although I already own 2 Brother Laser printers, I was told that now I needed a cloud ready wireless printer! After doing a lot of research and reading tons of reviews, I decided to purchase a HL-L2380DW because I really like Brother's reputation for dependability. This is the first laser printer I have owned. I have become very frustrated with the cost and frequency of replacing color ink cartridges. I do not need color for most of the printing I do. For the few color prints I do I keep an inkjet printer hooked up. The Brother HL-L2380DW was easy to set up with my wife's Windows 10 desktop. Allfunctions ( printing, scanning, and copying) worked perfectly with her computer.The only problem I have with this printer is that the setup with my Linux computerwas rather difficult. I spent a number of hours researching the web for information on getting the Brother printer to work on the Linux. What little scanning I need to do I can use my wife's computer, therefore I have not pursued getting that function to work on my computer. If Brother would include setup files for Linux machines on a CD that would install the proper drivers to make their printer work for both printing and scanning I would have given 5 stars.I am a new Linux user after 30 years of Windows however, and if I was more knowledgeable with Linux I could probably have gotten the printer to work for both scanning and printing without much trouble.
