Very easy to setup, fast quality black and white/colour printing and colour photos on highest print setting are not as good but close to the photo quality cartridge printer and scan/copy with feeder is excellent. Touch screen doesn't work, unable to finish set-up. Packaged well, no signs of damage when unboxing. There is no cover on the touchscreen causing this to not work, and no way to get past the "Set Country" setup option to investigate further. A search of Borther online help is unhelpful, providing poor troubleshooting tips. For example Brother USA recommend to fix a non-responsive touchscreen that you need to enter the "Set Up" function by selecting it on the touchscreen!

I bought this a few days ago. It was installed within about 10 minutes. Good fast prints, and so far I can't fault it. The touch screen is a comfortable size, and responds easily. My only long term concern is whether the print heads eventually block up and can't be cleared, which happened on my last Epson tank printer. However, it will have a lower cost than cartridges with print heads, so unless it plays up in the next year or so, I should still be ahead.

Purchased to replace a 10 year old Brother wireless inkjet. Great features with document feeder double sided printing and large ink tanks. Also mobile printing and NFC printing. I also like the large paper tray cartridge, not those horrible upright feeders at the back that are too small, paper curls etc and take up too much room on the desktop. Faster than almost all rivals and less expensive. 2 year warranty is double the 12 months of other brands. I did not install the fax feature so can't comment. The software provided is simple and easy and I have set up custom scanning to pdf and a default directory. Ability to create searchable pdfs is a great feature. Touch screen controls are easy to use & iPrint & Scan allows full management from PC or mobile.
This is a very good multipurpose machine which will suit most home applications. Firstly, this Brother is a great value buy including any replacement ink. It prints brilliantly and the scanner function is fantastic too!! The initial software installation is easy enough to perform and the Brother icon for the computer is easy to use with simple and clear functions. Overall we are quite happy with this printer and would happily recommend it to others.
I was a bit concerned that i would have trouble setting printer up to WiFi, as I'm in my 60s, technology challenged and only internet I have is through phone/mobile hotspot. It was actually really easy! Instructions are easy to follow, print quality is great, even in photo mode. I'm sorting boxes of old photos so have been able to scan, photoshop where necessary and reprint, and am really happy with result. Only had one minor hiccough, ink got clogged after not using machine for 2 weeks, but again, Instructions were easy to follow and fixing it up was quicker and easier than previous clunky cartridge printers. Great machine
After several different brand printers, this is the one!!! I could not get a Brother due to supply and the pandemic. So I was forced to purchase another brand and after much arguing with the company was able to return it, tried again to get a Brother but to no avail. So was forced to get another brand and returned that as well. FINALLY had a Brother in stock and it is the best printer ever. Even when it's idle and i need to print, just comes on and prints. I don't do a lot of printing but this printer is by far the best.
I bought this printer today 11.4.2022. This is my first Brother printer. Unboxed it, followed the prompts on the LCD screen and installed the wifi.. 2 minutes later it's working.. I was shocked how easy it was to install the ink and do the maintenance. I am printing on 200 and 250GSM paper and it's doing it with ease. Today alone I've printed 200 odd pages of full colour. It's double side printing is with ease and the mobile app is easy to navigate. I honestly wish I wasn't so loyal to Canon for all these years cause I've genuinely been missing out on vibrant and quality prints. This printer is cheaper than my last Canon but the quality of the Brother is alot better. Zero complaints from me. When installing ink.. It's important to shake the cartridges.. Then with the second Brother printer, through my own fault, after following the easy connection instructions, I had trouble printing - but I found the Support People very kind and patient with my lack of understanding of 'computerese'. Then we were accidentally disconnected - but they rang me straight back. I had just neglected to disconnect our other printer of the same model from my computer! I'm still working it out, but what doesn't appear to be correct is when I scan a multiple page document. I open up the Brother I print and scan app and scan the first page. Then I press the add page and scan the second page, then press add page again and scan the third page. This procedure is continued until all six pages have been scanned and then I pressed save to computer option. Unfortunately, although all pages are saved, they are saved as six separate documents and not as a single document. So when I want to send the scanned ages as an email, I have to send as six separate attachments. Hope you can help and advise what I need to do to correct this problem. Otherwise, my new MFC-J440DW appears to be working satisfactorily. Please advise
