Awesome feature. Price. Performance. Wireless connectivity. Ease of use. And there's more. It is worth the money and gets all my work done. Definitely recommended.

The printer comes at a great price with commendable print quality, however the following are deal breakers - 1. Mono copying (of documents) results in an excessively dark copy with detail completely blown out. Reducing the density does not help as it causes detail to be lost, rather than simply affecting the brightness/contrast of the print. Brother Support are unable to resolve this. A Color copy of the greyscale print was better but will be cost prohibitive. 2. The flat bed scanner is not scanning an A4 page edge to edge despite the specifications indicating it would. All 4 edges are trimmed (~3mm). This is not correctable. The scan using "Auto" paper detect and "A4" produced inconsistent results i.e.: the trimming occuring were different across the two. ... MoreThe printer comes at a great price with commendable print quality, however the following are deal breakers - 1. Consequence - anything placed at the corner of the scan bed (e.g.: ID, Passport) will be trimmed. 3. Unless the scan lid is closed completely (i.e.: single A4 page), mono copies end up with a greyscale "shadow" - i.e.: reflection back off the scan cover is significant. Copying a passport document resulted in a black to grey gradient across the page. Moving the document setting to Auto resulted in other issues occurring - contrast was thrown off. 4. In general - copies lack crispness and look "smudgy". Contrast and brightness is way off, the ADF is not consistent when feeding paper resulting in markedly visible skewness in copies and scans, WiFi is not strong, toner color reproduction is on the weaker side - a couple of tones off expectation. All issues have been raised with Brother Support. They acknowledged all issues, however have no solutions for me. I was told to talk with my Retailer. Very disappointed Brother.

Due to the current chip shortage combined with supply chain delays, there aren't as many laser printers in stock with retailers as there would usually be. We ordinarily would not have bought such a well-equipped model, but now I'm glad we did. The print quality is really good, it's quite fast to warm up and print each page. We already have two scanners in the house, but having a new one with a document feeder is proving to be really handy ! The printer was very easy to set up on our network with a direct ethernet connection to our router, but is also has Wi-Fi, and you can print straight from a smartphone too, if that's your thing. The toner cartridges are larger than the ones in our previous printer, so hopefully they will also last longer. They are more complex ... MoreDue to the current chip shortage combined with supply chain delays, there aren't as many laser printers in stock with retailers as there would usually be. Replacing a series of blocked inkjet printers, the Brother colour laser was an easy decision. The print quality is very good - no lines, bars or dropouts. Also it supports linux computers out of the box. The only negative so far is that the MFC model is quite heavy to carry. HN at Liverpool were very helpful, especially getting the printer to the car.
Very happy with this purchase of this Brother colour laser printer- does everything I wanted it to. Fast printing, excellent quality prints, easy scanning. Colours are excellent - almost as good as an ink jet printer, which I previously used for colour printing, but cheaper and faster to run. And being a Laser printer, the prints are water-fast, no more smudges with wet hands! Black and White printing is also very clear. Only real negative is the weight -23kg! But once in place this is not an issue unless you want to move it again.
Firstly it's a great printer, software installed from CD okay but on update of the software via internet, the driver would not install for the network printer. Tried just about everything to get it to install properly, to no avail. After much research and without a solution, I was finally able to successfully install the software driver by using the USB cable only. Once installed I was able to plug in the network cable and all was good. Didn't hesitate. I now have both USB and Network printers showing up in Windows 10. I almost suspect that Windows 10 security updates may have played a part in it. Having it working, it's great, quick to print, no dried ink worries as with Inkjet and print quality is typical laser quality. Having it working, it's great, quick to print, no dried ink worries as with Inkjet and print quality is typical laser quality. I copied a document and the copy was near as good as the original, really hard to tell which. The Bother Android App is brilliant, very easy to print direct from Android to this printer, it just worked, scanned and printed without a problem. It's not a photo printer and laser's are more about printing pages. If you want a photo printer then go Inkjet, really I'm over dried out ink. Go to store and print photos and get a laser. I'm very happy with this purchase.
I like that it does everything effortlessly. When we installed it, it picked up the network immediately and worked right from the start. The autofeed is awesome. We have done a fair bit of printing and the quality is excellent. It took a moment to figure out to use the Apps to scan to email, but once we got the idea we have had NO complaints. Take note that the packed printer is HEAVY. Don't expect to walk far with it! So far, I highly recommend this device.
Had inkjets for a long time. None of them work properly when you need them to work.Transition to this was a welcome change. Saves me a lot of time. Connect to your LAN and it work seemlessly across all your devices. No need to install printer software. No need to login to the said software where you cannot do practically nothing if login fails (i.e. HP)Single set of cartriges can print over 1800 text ish papers easily it seemsYes it is 10 times expensive than a cheap inkjet. But works way way better so that it justifies what you paid for it.
I wanted a laser printer but the reviews for this one seemed good. It is supposedly based on LEDs ?? I have had it for almost a year now. It does not print pictures very well for a start. And, god only knows, if it actually tells you which toner is out when it runs out of toner. So sometimes it is by trial and error - it is currently leaking blue over everthing as well but we suspect the black is out. At least they are individually replaceable. Toner is fairly expensive (maybe usual price) but at least it lasts a long time. I have had a lot of Brother products over the years and this is not one I woul recommend. It does not
I am very happy with my new Brother Laser Printer. It has the features I wanted / needed such as USB socket which I like to use for transferring files. The printer operates very quietly compared to my previous laser printers (other brand). I was ready to give that other brand the "flick" after two printer failures. One thing I did notice is that my new Brother is more conservative on toner use which means black print and colour photos are not as bold but on the other hand, toners will not need to be replaced as frequently.
