Absolutely LOVE this addition to my sewing machine team! It’s a really solid metal machine, very easy to thread and use. The extension table that it came with is excellent, very, very good quality and so stable. The machine is stable too and no vibration even hen on full speed!The machine is quiet…it has the ability to go VERY fast so good foot control is essential. The machine deals incredibly well with all fabrics and the function to have the 2 fabrics fed through separately therefore keeping your sewing and fabrics even delicate ones even. It sits through multiple layers like a knife through butter…I can see this becoming my machine of choice for all my straight stitching in future. It even sews the channel into my bras so easily..no more broken needles !

Great straight stitch machine. Super fast. Has a button to cut your thread. I want to start writing and the extra wide base is perfect for quilting. I am sure there are a lot more functions I don't even know how to use yet as a beginner, so i am happy that this is a machine I can grow into. The unit itself is heavy and well made.

I’m a beginner sewer and was SO incredibly happy to receive this machine - it’s made a world of difference in the quality of work I can do, and I’m so impressed with how easy it is to use. I’m so excited to keep learning and growing with this amazing tool! It’s also so beautiful and comes with great instructions, and the Brother website has tons of useful guidelines etc. Overall extremely satisfied and feeling lucky to use this machine!

The straightforward design is perfect for someone like me who's not a sewing pro. I love how precise it is with straight stitches, adding a pro touch to my creations. It has a ton of fancy stitches, AND for speed and reliability, this machine is my go-to recommendation. Only thing i will say is that this sewing machine is not home friendly. It does not have that cap/cover to store it. It is definitely closer to industrial than home use, so I was surprise to see that it was easy for me to use as well!

I recieved this Brother PQ1600S High-Speed Straight Stitch Sewing Machine from influenster to review. I have begun to enjoy sewing a lot more since I got the sewing machine because it is a lot easier sewing stuff now that I don't have to sew anything by hand. It was very easy to get setup to start sewing. The process of getting it threaded was simple and didn't take a minute to get threaded. It has a smooth feeling process when you are sewing with it instead of like the old sewing machines do, they will shake you half to death trying to sew something. It has several different styles of stitching that looks really nice on the material that you are sewing and holds the material together really tight. It is really easy to get it started going, I barely have to press the foot pedal to start sewing and as soon as you lift your foot up it instantly stops. The sewing machine runs smooth and is quite. You can hear it but it's not real loud. I love using the Brother PQ1600S High-Speed Straight Stitch Sewing Machine and I have used it everyday since I received it. I have sown a quilt, made a purse, and also added some pockets on a pair of yoga like pants to make them look like a pair of jeans. The stitching on the yoga pants made it look like there is a border like design around the pockets that I sewed on to the yoga pants.

I am as beginner of a beginner that you could imagine with respect to sewing, so this machine definitely has not been used to its full capability in my hands yet. But off the bat, it is so quick at stitching and runs smoothly. I do wish I could dial down the speed a bit but that's ok. The machine is super heavy itself (I struggled even with a dolly to get the machine up to my unit) and is also large in size, but all that comes in handy when stitching because minimal vibrations were felt when in use. The machine is definitely an investment but if you sew regularly this could be your new best friend. I can't wait to do/experiment more with it soon!

Dissapointed customer

I bought this machine last November and have had nothing but problems with it. It doesn't free motion Quilt on flannel at all, I've tried everything the manual says and even did live chat 2 or 3 times and they are no help. It sews regular cotton just fine and I did free motion quilt it and it was OK. It will not work on my Cutie tabletop frame at all. I'm sorry I bought this machine, not what I expected from Brother at all. My first & last Brother Machine. I make Quilts and give them to folks who need them so I need a machine I can count on to do the job of Quilting.

dream machine

the brother pq1600s is simply amazing!! this was a huge upgrade from my previous machine and quite a big investment for me and it was worth every penny! i’ve had it since the end of october and among all the little projects i’ve sewn, i just finished my first big quilt (90x90). the throat space was plenty big enough to get the whole thing through for straight line quilting and my machine never missed a beat. it’s so solid and powerful (but quiet!) and sews like a dream! even, perfect stitches every time. i am so excited to have this beautiful machine and i can’t wait to keep learning and improving.
