I ordered the best specified product I could find.On receiving the printer, I found the product was capable if undertaking more complex functions than I needed, consequently the instruction manual was equally complex.I eventually figured out how to complete the simple tasks I needed.All the above was entirely my own fault and should I ever need the extra facilities, they are there in reserve.The printer is excellent with different width of tape different size of font, two level printing, and the ability to edit prior to printing etc.Finally as a ex electrical engineer the ability to print on tube to identify cables.Choppy.

A good upgrade

Best in Kind

I got one of these for myself in 2017. I liked it so much that I have suggested it as a purchase for other businesses and haven't disappointed.Yes, it's huge and chunky, so if you want something small then don't get this one. But if you was something sturdy, very capable and reliable, with tons of options this is the go.I've printed asset tags/labels for a 2000+ item warehouse with this one without skipping a beat. The serialising and database printing options are super handy. Makes patch panels a breeze. And the ability to print from 3.5 to 24mm makes it very versatile.Downsides could be the WiFi is not as solid as I would like and the PTouch app for iPhone is terrible. Brother Professional Grade Labeler

This labeler will definitely improve your labels. I use for everything I label. I just recently updated my electrical panel numbers and labels. What an improvement. With the selection of different tapes sizes and colors you can design your labels to present a an excellent presentation to identify items.

Bulky, but the best

As others have said, this label printer is a lot larger than you might expect. While that's not great if you were planning on chucking it in your toolbag, it does mean that you're more likely to keep it safely in its case and the keyboard being a decent size makes it easier to type. Regardless, if you're in the market for a professional label printer with features designed for electricians and similar trades then this is the best option out there. Automatically cutting the label once printed is a nice luxury compared to a manual button on the cheaper models. The larger screen and full QWERTY keyboard are also useful. Excellent printer with only 1 flaw in my opinion

The PT-E550WVP is a great printer and has a good set of features. It's easy to use on the most part with one exception which is printing from a database which I feel is not easy to do. The manual is clear on the whole and the desktop and mobile software is ok I guess but again I feel the database printing side could and should be explained better and covered more both in the manual and online.The printers screen is bright and easy to read in all light conditions but I would have liked the keys to be back lit which would have made operation easier in low light conditions. The fact this printer has WiFi built in was one of the main reasons I bought mine. I carry a set of spare AA batteries tho just in case. I do use my printer a lot I have to say simply because it makes labelling a pleasant and quick task and the end result looks professional.The printer comes with everything you need to get you up and running quickly and with a 3 year warranty peace of mind too!.

Great label printer

As an electrician, the Brother label printer machine is perfect for my labeling needs. It has predefined templates for the typical requirements for an electrician. The related app makes it very easy to design and print labels

New Labelling tool

VFM. Has more features than I will use. Simple, easy and intuitive to use.I think it’s like the old ink printers, the cost is in the tape cartridges(not unreasonable in small quantities), so one might consider whole of life cost compared to others. Low use suites me perfectly.

Very neat & professional finish

Got this for electrical work, marking network cables and boxes, consumer units etc. Works very well with great results. Down side is it wastes a lot of tape unnecessary, why Brother!! and battery always shows it is either half full or nearly flat. It has never stopped printing but battery always shows its about to die and you never know if it will or not. Maybe just a design fault. Apart from the two little hiccups its a great printer in a great case, everything fits in there, spare tapes, charger the lot.

1st, the reviews that state it wastes tape are misinformed. They are not utilizing the best cut methods for them. This is the most efficient tape management printer I have used, including earlier today where approx. 4 inches was "wasted " out of the entire 8 meter cartridge.Favorite feature is the half cut, cutting the labels to size without cutting the backer. This gives a convenient way to mass print and peel without the waste and without a pile of individual labels.The ability to import from excel through the PC based app is simple and efficient.
