I am giving away my old labeller (of another brand) as I LOVE my new Brother PT-H105! We just arrived home from holidays today and opened up the box with great excitement (yes... OCD can do that to you). The only school items left to name were my 11 year old step-daughter's coloured pencils. She had great fun with the different Styles, Frames and Auto Designs. Once she went to bed I got to play with it and I now know which cord is which under my desk. Pantry next... it's going to look very pretty! The keys were large enough for fat fingers, the menus easy to understand and it is light and easy to hold. I love the different tapes you can get and they are very easy to install. I didn't even have to look at the instructions before I started, although I have looked ... MoreI am giving away my old labeller (of another brand) as I LOVE my new Brother PT-H105! Looking forward to getting some fabric tape for school uniforms. Very happy. :)

I almost lost my trial pack in the mail. Luckily, they re-sent it back to me. My husband used to print labels for me from his work, it looked rather too "industrial" for my liking. I've been meaning to get my own label maker for a very long time. This came as a post Christmas present, and just in time for the new school year. I love the P-touch H105 because it is so easy to use, easy to handle and you can add a lot of "feminine" touches in the labels you are creating. My 4 year old daughter is so obsessed with Rainbow Dash from the show My Little Pony, that's why the "rainbow" icon is the first thing I checked. Et voilà!!! When I received this item, I decided to not allow my teens to help. I wanted to see ease of use by some one not really up with technology. I read all the instructions before I started and I felt confident that it was actually easy. Once set up, I tried a few different settings to see the difference in how they printed. I first started with labels for my vege patch. They came out too big. So back to square one. I made a label for my youngest daughters drink bottle for kinder. When writing for 2 lines it did not automatically centre. Which was a bother. But I quickly worked out that I can put some spaces in before I started to centre it a bit better. I found I did need the instructions near by, not for normal settings, but for the pictures and different frames etc. I ... MoreWhen I received this item, I decided to not allow my teens to help. Other than that, I look forward to buying some fabric labels for the kids uniforms, and cable labels for our technology. Thank you Pacific Mags, BHG and especially Brother for this opportunity.

The brother PT-H105 labeller has helped me with all my childrens back to school necessities as well as labelling my pantry, fridge and freezer containers. I found that I was able to adjust the size of the font and make the margin smaller so that I had just the right size label to place on the ends of pens, pencils and textas! Being able to print up to 9 at a time means less tape wastage too!Labelling lunch boxes and drink bottles I used a larger bold font so that it stood out more. We personalised these labels with sweet little characters and a fancy border. Definitely a winner with the kids!I tend to use the same fridge/freezer containers for the same contents over and over. So I was able to create one for sausages, mince, chicken etc. This now means no second guessing what mystery dinner meat I might be defrosting! We labelled the cords behind the TV so it will be easier to reconnect in the right place if and when that time may arise. Down the binders of my work folders I was even able to colour coordinate. Capital letters made the end result look more professional. I love that fact that there are a multitude of replaceable tape cartridges- with both colours, sizes and usage styles. From simple laminate to iron on labels. I was impressed with the length of tape provided. I didn't feel as though 'hope I don't run out soon'. I was able to label 36 texts and pencils, drink bottles, lunch boxes, rulers, rubbers and pens- still with meters to spare!

With 3 little boys, the eldest about to venture into the world of big school, buying labels has been an expensive exercise! The Brother-PT-H105 is a very simple to use labeller with some fantastic features and will hopefully save us some money! With different font sizes and styles and loads of built in label templates, there is sure to be a label for every possible application you can think of. Very user friendly functionality and labels that so far seem to be very durable. The battery life is somewhat of an issue, as is the cost of genuine replacement label cartridges. I'd been keen to know where the power supply can be purchased from as that would be the ideal alternative - my hubby is keen to start using the labeller in his workplace to help organise things. ... MoreWith 3 little boys, the eldest about to venture into the world of big school, buying labels has been an expensive exercise! Prints well, very handy. Really like the cable flag feature to identify leads in powerboards etc. Easy to peel label backing! Great product, features and utility for the price, but cost of refills is outrageous!( I love Brother products generally, but am HAPPY to buy COMPATIBLE cartridges and take a chance when they are ONE QUARTER THE PRICE!! )GET REAL BROTHER. That aside, my biggest gripe is the power consumption when switched off! If you leave batteries in it while stored for even a few weeks, they WILL be flat when you go to use the labeller again. ALSO, the memory is NOT non-volatile, meaning the labels you commonly use ( kids names etc) that you BOTHERED TO SAVE will also be gone. Hi, for several years I have used this PT-H105 Brother Label Tape printer. Early on I noticed that I was going through batteries even though I hardly used it. To avoid this I sometimes removed one battery and put it aside when I finished with the machine. That solved the problem. Finally, I decided to look at the current drain today. It was working fine but when I looked at the batteries, one of them was leaking alkali (a Duracell LR03 use-by-date=2026). I tested all the batteries and all 6 gave me about 1. 35V. Next I removed the batteries and connected the terminals to 9V from an Altronics Adjustable Power Supply (K3250) and through the 121GW @EEVBlog Multimeter. I found that, with the power off, the device was taking 0. 004 mA. So I don't understand why the ... MoreHi, for several years I have used this PT-H105 Brother Label Tape printer. It seems I don't need to remove battery when not in use. Oh yes... and it does seem hard to use the keyboard especially when searching for special characters.

My son and I just used the Brother P-touch H105 Label Maker to label all of his school stationery and we loved it! We both had a great time trying out all of the designs, font sizes and frames! The instructions were easy to follow so we were basically able to start using it straight away. It is also so quick and easy to change label colour as the tape cassette just clicks in and out and the cover opens and closes with ease. The labels printed clearly and really quick and I loved that you can pre-store 9 labels and recall them for printing at a later date. I was really surprised at how fancy you can make a label look - with the choice of font and borders, it really makes you go WOW when you see the printed label! Good Points: Quite easy to use. Good quality printing. Good range of types and styles of printing available, including italics, bold type, icons and motifs. The tape you have to use is available in a large range of colours and sizes. At time of purchase got it £10 cheaper on retailer's website than elsewhere.Improvement Points: Batteries run continuously, even when machine is switched off, to keep the memory active. As a result they run down very quickly. Luckily I read about this problem in other reviews so I didn't waste money buying any. Instead I bought the appropriate AC adaptor for it so I could run it off the mains. Of course you could just remove the batteries between printing sessions, which would achieve the same effect and preserve the battery life. The tape you have to use is quite expensive but produces good quality results. It's best to print labels in a continuous chain to reduce tape wastage.
