Apps and labels, oh my!

Upon opening and unboxing, I was first wowed by its unconventional ‘cube’ like design. On the box it states that it’s operated via an app so there’s an absence of any kind of keypad or buttons, other than the power on/off button. It’s sleek design makes it very eye catching and inconspicuous at the same time. One cannot tell just by looking at it that it’s a printer, let alone one for labels and I like that, it can sit with the rest of our computer tech without looking odd. The app itself was very easily to download off the QR code that was included, and within seconds we were able to start printing. The device itself didn’t come with a charging wire but it does take AAA batteries and it does have a charing port, I think any standard 9v charger would do the job but it’s for this reason I’ve knocked off a point, who wants to run out of battery in the middle of organising?! that would frustrate me so much. I’m currently homeschooling my elder three and do we have many folders, books, stationary etc and it all needs labelling to prevent fights! This tiny but might printer made light work of it all. It offers a massive choice of different fonts, you can use different types and widths of tapes depending on what you need. The only thing I really didn’t like was the amount if label that gets wasted on a single print, in my opinion there’s no need to have so much excess on either side that you will have to trim off yourself. It makes having a cutter in the machine a bit pointless. Overall I would say it’s a very good label maker, it has a couple of snags but is way better and more innovative than my previous label maker. It’s a thumbs up from me and my kids!

The label maker was easy to use, the app certainly inspired me. It was easy to locate the app in the Google Play Store and set up my label printer. It works via Bluetooth and so it almost set itself up. There was no fiddling around. The same with the ribbon cartridge, it is very easy to install. The printer is very compact and neat. It looks stylish if you leave it out but it also packs away in a drawer as it is self contained. I have recently had a new kitchen installed with a large pantry area. I have enjoyed getting myself organised and labelling the jars, containers and storage boxes. My only negative is as it didn't come with a power adapter or any rechargeable batteries it requires AAA batteries which it goes through quite quickly.

Handy gadget but requires patience!

I so wanted to give the PT Cube a glowing review but I have to be honest. I'll start with the positive, it's neat, lightweight, portable and has a wealth of uses. Not so positive, set up was challenging, possibly due to having to set it up on an older phone as my usual one is in the repair shop. Finding and downloading the app was simple enough but getting the phone to communicate with the cube was somewhat difficult (maybe once I get my phone back I'll be updating this review) but once set up it worked well, that was until it lost connection and stopped communicating so I had to start again! As it didn't come with a power adapter and rechargeable battery it requires AAA batteries which it goes through quite quickly, obviously this can work out quite costly ... MoreI so wanted to give the PT Cube a glowing review but I have to be honest. As it didn't come with a power adapter and rechargeable battery it requires AAA batteries which it goes through quite quickly, obviously this can work out quite costly depending on how much you're using it, considering I'd be using it at craft fairs and boot sales I personally would be carting a box of batteries with me. Finally the tape, I can't find anywhere other than Brother to purchase replacement at the moment, hopefully this is because I'm looking in the wrong places or because it's new, again this could become costly. Overall, it is a neat little printer and I would recommend it to someone who needed one for light use but not for someone like myself who would be doing a lot of printing on site. Perhaps Brother could look into the possibility of a built in or replaceable rechargeable battery so it can be charged off a generator, power pack or directly from the mains which would make it more user friendly.

I love this label maker from Brother
22 January 2023

This label maker is really great. There are a lot of fonts to choose from. You can also save common labels to print later instead of retyping everything. The product is lightweight. The device connects by Bluetooth and stays connected even fi I'm in the next room. It does time out and need to be reconnected if I'm idle for too long. It also has a nice long cord for the plug. Labels print crisp and cleanly. I buy the cartridges from a third party retailer.

Love this printer
11 April 2022

Really love this printer, it’s brilliant, it is so compact and handy for labelling stuff for the kids and labels for organisation around the house. It’s so easy to use and was really easy to connect to my phone. The app is great, so many templates and you can create your own. I’ve already recommended it to my sister as she loves labelling things. I’m already looking at the different tapes and ribbons you can buy for it. I have had lots of fun playing around with all the different templates. It does use a lot of batteries and would be even better if it came with a power cable for when you do keep it on your desk. I can’t praise this printer enough, I think it’s great.

I love this product. It didn’t come with a charger lead but I used batteries and it was fine. I love how portable this printer is. It comes with its own app that is very easy to download and the cube connects to the app via Bluetooth which is very easy to connect The app has lots of different fonts and emojis that you can use on the labels. There are lots of different things this can be used for. I have used this to label all my sons football team water bottles. I have also used it around the house, on storage boxes and jars etc. the children have also used it to label their homework and school books etc. I need to get some different colour tapes to try different things. This Mumma's New Best DIY Buddy
8 July 2022

Definitely my new best bud. I love how I can customise the labels using my phone and just print it straight away. I can change the fonts, font size, the length of tape to be used, the margin size, and also I can add images. Yes, images not just icons! Just upload a photo and print it onto your chosen tape. You can also personalise your own gift ribbons. I really love the fabric tape since my baby is now in daycare. Naming all her clothes is essential and the iron on fabric tape really does its job. I'm really glad I purchased this label printer. Very handy indeed!

Very Simple

I found this label maker is the easiest to use. You just connect the device via Bluetooth, download the free application, input the design/word details into the app on your phone, and then print. Other label makers remind me of using complicated calculators, requiring you to press a button to use the other buttons for different functions. Complicated. Plus, with this label cube, you are able to save your designs and labels in case you would like to print additional ones. The only 2 issues I have come across are, you can’t transfer your label designs from the older application after a specific time which ended awhile ago, and I downloaded the updated app too late, so I have to redo all my labels; and the second issue is that a lot of fonts you are allowed to choose ... MoreI found this label maker is the easiest to use. But once you figure out which fonts work for you, that issue isn’t a problem. This is an item I would buy again and again. Love the different colors of tape you can use, like one color or like white on gold or red on white; as well as the different types of tape, like waterproof, oil proof, strength, and more. Extremely happy with my purchase!

Got this labeler out to try it out and was a little surprised that not was bigger then I anticipated. I downloaded the app and it works well and is user friendly with pre made templates that are useful. As I was trying out some samples I was happy with the speed of printing. The downside I found very quickly is that the cube loses connectivity of Bluetooth very quickly and it will not auto connect. So you have to go back into your Bluetooth setting and reconnect each time. I also realized that when you cut a label and print another, you wind up with a tail that you have to cut off and waste. There is a setting where that can be turned off if you are doing multiple labels, but the last one will be in the cube and it will now eject. Not sure if I will keep the unit as ... MoreGot this labeler out to try it out and was a little surprised that not was bigger then I anticipated. packaged well, when I opened it couldn't wait to start using it, took me a little while to figure out where the charger was until realised never came with one so was confused how to use it until realised batteries can be used as well bonus! would of preferred a charger cable but suppose that makes it less portable so bonus having a choice of both. instructions are set out easy to understand took a couple minutes to set up app on phone and get started, love how quick it sends across from app to device and the speed it prints is perfect. already looked up all the extra cartridges I can add to it to get my creativeness flowing. my kids are getting fed up of me labelling everything already haha. would highly recommend for household crafts and adding extra detail to things.
