We required a label printer that could print on larger plastic tape width and to almost any length. This unit preforms that roll just perfect when used with the matching IOS app.No need to spend money on a keyboard or screen because your phone does all of that well and this printer just prints BUT does it very well!!

Hardware is awesome, and working off a PC this is the ultimate label maker.Unfortunately, I purchased this for use on the road - it's small and battery powered after all. But the app is beyond a joke. It's like a kids toy for making only cheesy graphical labels. As a professional tool for labelling it's hopeless, missing the features I use every day on my old handheld device. No option for port labelling, cables. Hard to believe!

Brilliant portable label maker

Bought this on a whim. Runs perfectly off my phone. Battery lasts forever. Only problem I had was the locking/printing mechanism not opening up initially but found the solution on the brother website. Very portable. Very flexible. Much better than I had expected.

Label cutter doesn’t work.
18 March 2023

I bought this a week ago and when I installed the cassette today it didn’t seem to click in as easy as it shows in the video’s, although it’s hard to actually find a step by step process of installing the cassette even though previous brother printer was easy to change cassettes. Then when it was “clicked in” it seem to have a tear in the black film and when I tried to print something it said cutter isn’t functioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am very disappointed to have ultimately wasted the first cassette that came with the box. The app looks easy to use but there is no information on setup of cassette.

Nice label printer

This works very well with windows 10, I am a little disappointed it can't be used with my computer by Bluetooth but the USB cable is fine. Bluetooth is only for the phone/tablet app. It is also compatible with the older AZe tapes. I had heaps left over from my previous label printer and they work perfectly in the new machine too.

Very basic machine.
21 November 2019

This machine would not install at first try. I had to uninstall the installation file and then re-install it again. There is no instruction document that comes with the machine I had to go to the Brother Australia web site to find information and then had to download multiple files to install it. It is a very basic machine with limited functionality and no manual tape cut button unlike my previous Brother P-Touch machine.

Way better than regular label makers
31 July 2021

I've had one of these for over a year and I can't say in strong enough terms just how much better it is than those label makers that have a built in screen and keyboard. This is SO much quicker to get results from, and when you do the labels look so much more professional. Scroll to the bottom of this review for some tips.Pros:- Lets you print anything you like: text, symbols, logos, emoji, etc.- Choose any font that exists on the phone/tablet/computer you're connecting with.- Works with 12mm and 24mm tape in a wide range of colours/styles.- The iPrint & Label app is actually really easy to use once you get used to it.- Has a custom built-in battery, rechargeable via USB, user replaceable with a screwdriver if you can find the new battery.- Bluetooth ... MoreI've had one of these for over a year and I can't say in strong enough terms just how much better it is than those label makers that have a built in screen and keyboard. I imagine this is to ensure the correctness of the left margin, but it’s extremely wasteful and serves the additional purpose of forcing you to buy tape more often.- With my computer I find I have to use the USB cable as Bluetooth doesn’t seem to ever find the device. Not a huge problem because this also charges the printer.- First-party tape products are expensive (see below).Tips from my experience:- Shop around for tape. I’ve not had a problem with ANY of the tape products I’ve tried with the unit. As long as they are TZe compatible, you’re good.- If you struggle with any of the smartphone apps (there are more than one) try the “iPrint and Label” app, which I’ve found to be much easier to use and more reliable. For some reason its ratings are really low, but for my basic uses it’s been great.

Works just as I'd hope
12 November 2021

It works really well both through the Android app over Bluetooth, and the PC program over a USB connection. The selection of fonts, icons and borders allows for plenty of creativity. I'm quite happy with the quality of the laminated labels it produces. The only thing I wish Brother would add (which is really the software, not the label maker itself) is more templates and symbols for electrical/datacom labels, comparable to what Brother's handheld PT-E550WVP can do.
