Happy with the ease to use, and the finished product of the labels. So far the labels are holding up well outdoors in the sun and rain.Wasn't a cheap product so hoping it lasts the distance.

The brand new unit was delivered to us. We installed 5 different tape into it and it refused to work correctly. The unit wouldn't feed the tape and would just write over the same spot over and over again. This unit is apparently discontinued and Brother doesn't do exchanges on it and after a week of wait for a shipping label, their repair department still hasn't sent me a label.

I am a genealogist with lots of artefacts and documents to label. I had had a 12mm brother labeller for some time and wanted a more sophisticated label for my large number of leather-look gold-tooled binders. The 12mm was ok but looked a bit like sticky-tape and often left little 'space' around words to assist in readability. 12mm, of course, still has its place but this machine does up to 24mm. The new 24 mm with premium gold tape is superior for my purposes and, not necessarily visible from image attached, is easier to read from a distance as well as looking professionally made.Once the program was on the system it was easy to create a label and typing is so much easier with my computer's keyboard than with the portable mini non-qwerty keyboards. I can save label templates to create a house-style to reuse which is great for me as I am a bit obsessive on order and continuity. I can ensure the label template is a fixed size so if the text changes the label always fills the space just right. Also it prints just the right amount of label with less waste than my portable so saves on expensive tape. It is mains so doesn't need batteries (although you can use them if you want) but this is a big saving as the hand-held used lost of batteries. The software feels a bit clunky, particularly around colour choice and selections, but is functional and I would not want them to exchange functionality for pretty. The half-cut device is bonus I didn't appreciate until I used it, I spend less time with my nails trying to separate the backing from the sticky-label. When using transparent tape this reduces the likelihood of my fingerprints showing on the corners!A small disappointment was that I did want a simple coach-line frame (a rectangle with scalloped corners, as shown in some Brother advertising) but this was not actually on the list of frames available. So, the facility to download free additional designs would be cool.Overall, extremely happy with the Brother PTP750W that now sits happily within wi-fi reach of my set-up.

Great little printer, convenient app based printing
15 February 2017

I have had several label printers over the years, including a 7600vp handheld. The issue with the 7600 is it is a little large and cannot be used directly as a computer based printer. That's where this one comes in.It is a bit smaller than the handheld device I have so is more convenient to transport. I also can design custom labels in the software and print them without having to transfer a template to the device first. The convenience of being able to work with the app on the phone is useful, but I have not explored the full range of customisation options within it yet.I might add there are some very good deals on this printer available as I would not have bought it at the list price. For what I paid it is a very useful addition to the toolbox.

Military Defense Contractor approved

I currently own the P900 for use specifically in labeling ESD approved bags for military grade/aerospace grade parts of all shapes and sizes. I've been through, approximately, 100,000+ labels at this point and can't say I'm disappointed with the product. You do have to install the Ptouch software for use, but that comes loaded with an incalculable litany of options to create whatever label you desire as well as premade and preset templates. The ease at which you can produce mass volumes of labels makes this particular label maker invaluable for almost any industry where labeling/packaging of bags is an endless, day to day operation.Additionally, with the right software/coding programmer at your disposal, you can modify it to print scannable QR codes that can then ... MoreI currently own the P900 for use specifically in labeling ESD approved bags for military grade/aerospace grade parts of all shapes and sizes. I will say the tape cartridges for it can be suspect at times, printing in a faded manner or not at all....but that's a 1 out of 20 lottery.More or less user friendly, easy to change out cartridges, and a very "plug and play" type set up. If anything, the speed at which it prints multiple labels could be quicker. My specific application is cataloguing, packaging, and labeling parts that have been through an ultrasonic cleaning process. I work in a clean room for a military defense contractor and as such, there can't be mistakes or hard to read labels for the products I'm defining for half a dozen laboratories or private engineering jobs.Worth your time and money; just stock up on the size cartridges you'd like before hand.

PTP750W
4 May 2023

I ordered the Brother PT-P750W Label Maker and I am very impressed with the label quality and the P-touch Editor 5.4 software it is easy to use but the only thing is the software has to be downloaded and you have to enter the serial number every time you want to install the software this is very inconvenient and frustrating. I ordered the Brother PT-P750W to replace my Brother E55ow after it fell on the floor and broke and the P-touch Editor for the Brother E550w was much easier to install

PTouch Direct has great service.
23 May 2020

I needed a printer that would work with my Macintosh computer. The PT-P900 specs indicated that all the models would work so I ordered one without networking even though the next one up was only $10.00 more. When I received it, it turns out that only the networked models are compatible. This wasn't PTouch Direct's fault. The difference is only shown if you download the manuals for the different models. The description of the series from Brother says it's compatible. Even though it wasn't their fault, PTouch Direct allowed me to exchange for no extra charge other than the difference in cost. I thought they would be unwilling to do it, but Suzanne made it happen, and fast! Thank you! Ease of use rating is for Brother, not PTouch Direct. Perfect plant labeller for those who keep a plant list
8 February 2016

I grow hundreds of pots of bulbs from seed and I keep a list of them on my computer as an Excel spreadsheet.. Now with a little formatting I can print them directly without having to re-type them. I knew the label quality is perfect for plant labels. The printing does not fade even out of doors and the adhesive seems everlasting. The label on my dustbin has been there for 11 years and shows no deterioration. I have not used it wirelessly yet and I find it easier to use the formatting in Excel. The tapes are relatively expensive but the printer makes efficient use when printing a batch. The white printing on black option is especially good for the garden since they are much less conspicuous.

Plenty of connectivity options
11 July 2015

This label printer has a variety of connectivity options, so there should be one to suit most use scenarios. It can connect to a PC via USB or wirelessly through WiFi Direct or through a WiFi network. There are mobile apps for iOS and Android, and also a development kit.Compared to other label printers, the ability to save the last printed label would be a nice addition. A Windows Phone app is also currently not available.

Wireless not working at all, apps pathetic
22 September 2020

The apps for iOS, Android and macOS are absolutely useless. Wireless configuration is nightmarish at best and it still won’t work. The apps never detect the printer. Not directly, not via AP connection rendering the wireless functionality completely worthless. AirPrint won’t work either. The unit feels quite flimsy as well and they had the gall to attach a 1990s beige USB to a black printer. Much like their software, Brother appears to be stuck in that period of horrible 90s printing.
