Bought this in mid July. It is now the first week of October. No way in the world we have gone through more than two reams - 1000 pages. Some pages have been image heavy but doubt this was more than 15% of copies.Doubt we'll be buying a Brother printer again.

There are instructions in the Reviews of the 2430 Toner replacement on how to run a Maintenance Report from your Brother print. I ran that report because I thought the yield on this cartridge was low...here's what I discovered:Pages printed on this this Toner cartridge: 1959Average Coverage: 6.41%Toner Remaining: 7%So, I could still print maybe 100-200 pages more. The quality of the print hasn't started to degrade yet.Given that Brother bases it's yield numbers on a coverage of around 4% (I forget the exact number), and my average printing is 6.41%...the yield numbers line up pretty well IMO.Having come from an inkjet, where the ink dries up when it sits unused for weeks at a time, this is infinitely better for "low" use home-office environments. The ... MoreThere are instructions in the Reviews of the 2430 Toner replacement on how to run a Maintenance Report from your Brother print. But the info is available for consumers to run the numbers themselves.

The printers are work horses - thats a plus. Love them but i bought a offmarket cartridge from officeworks and it just was messy. Have to buy genuine cartridges. the ink was putting blotches on the side column of the prints. Have gotten a new genuine cartridge and cleaned the inside of the printer and all good but the yield (3,000 pages is a little worrying to hear).

Excellent product. I always buy two at a time and save a little extra on the purchase price. This is also the second time I have purchased from the same supplier. Would not go anywhere else.
I bought this toner cartridge in July it is now November and there is no way I have made three thousand copies or print outs in that time. I have only used four reams of paper. To make matters worse generic cartridges will not work in this machine. Fortunately I was given one so not cost for this. Another problem is the sudden need for a new toner cartridge there was very little warning on either my computer screen or the machine itself. Always relied on Brother machines for my small business but will be looking at other brands from now on.
This toner is rated to print 3000 pages and is more cost effective than the other toner cartridge which prints only 1200 pages. the extra cost of $40 is fine provided it prints 1800 more copies
The previous lot of toner cartridges that I bought from you were not very good. They were printing faintly, even from the start. I kept replacing them with another cartridge but it made no difference. I even removed each one, waggled them a bit to try and redistribute the ink but it didn't help. I thought I was buying genuine cartridges this time but I don't think they are... perhaps you could confirm this please??
As with other reviewers, this piece of Brother rubbish delivers maybe 1/4 of the advertised pages - with no warning that access to the toner will be shut off. The retailer should be aware of this and one wonders why if they are not
We have 3 x brother printers for the office and we have found that when purchasing the replacement ink cartridges it's a bit hit and miss. Officeworks is good with the exchanges of the faulty ones but it's a pain to have to take them back and do so. Not recommended.
I wish I had seen these reviews before I puchased this printer. No where near what I had expected. I have gone through 2 reams of paper and already need new toner. The humble injet ecotank only a qtr by comparison. So very dissapointed as I wanted a printer that can print both sides for the bigger jobs. Now a complete waste of money. :( Generic brands don't work in it either.
