Premium Garden Soil Mix 50ltr

Bunnings 50L premium garden mix is a good quality product. Slightly better product compared with Scotts identical product (had some oversize sticks & twigs). The 50L bag is difficult to lift and handle. Even with a 2 person lift. Could not find a smaller volumemetric bag, say 25 to 35 litre. Does Bunnings know this?

Despite the text on the front of the packaging, this contains no 'soil' and will be inappropriate for many garden uses. My main advice is, read the ingredients on the back before buying. The product is mainly pine bark; with added artificial fertiliser.

Brought 15 bags to top up my raised beds. Put some lettuce and strawberries in and a few weeks later, they were going crazy! The media is not too sandy and has minimal bark through it. Good for large direct seeds also. Will be using this until they stop making it or I stop gardening.

Good soil at a cheaper price point. Used this Brunnings soil across my frontyard lawn and it's going good so far. This soil smells bad like sugarcane factory discharged molasses, but that's okay as long as it's good for the garden plants and lawn.
I recently used this mix to plant out a garden bed with natives. Two months on and the plants are thriving. Highly recommend this product. And I would not be put off by the smell of this or any other product containing compost or manure - these are natural substances and they are how we build better, richer soils for our plants.
Do not be fooled by the smell, that is the smell of garbage. Instantly kills any plant you put in it. Highly discourage anyone from buying. I can’t believe they have such a positive spin on the label and how to use. They shouldn’t be allowed to sell this stuff
Just emptied a bag into my vegetable patch and spent the next 30 minutes picking out a crazy amount of non organic matter like hard plastic pieces, plastic bag pieces, shoe laces and a large ROCK. Ridiculous. Taking the other bags I purchased back for a refund.
Planted my flowers in this soil, and in another soil elsewhere. The flowers planted in this soil died after a day, the flowers in the other soil were fine. Very odd texture and smell for soil, it looks like incomplete compost mixed with manure?Would only recommend as a filler mixed with other soil perhaps, or amended and left a while to break down further
If you want chunks of melamine, blue plastic, plastic bags and other unknown contaminants I suggest you may as well mulch up your own garbage and recycling bin. At least it was colourful.I don't know how they get away with it- and they are not the only garden mulch filled with plastic and garbage by any means.
I purchased this couple of weeks ago to re pot my last year's hydrangea cuttings into larger pots. One week later all of the plants have now died. Thanks alot for stocking cheap and nasty crap
