Efficient mixed port dock for USBC laptops.

Fast and efficient mixed port dock for current generation USBC laptops. Paired with a Dell XPS laptop running dual screens this setup works, and is relatively compact. The addition of a SDX card reader in the front panel is handy for those wishing to import video and stills to their laptop editing software from a digital camera, given that most newer laptops no longer have a card reader. Back panel runs 3 USBA, 3 USBC for monitor or external device use, network cable and mains power input. There could always be a few more USBA and USBC ports in the back panel, but for its size and price the number of ports is acceptable, and just enough for my use and mix of old and new peripherals. I have run the dock for the last month, all day in temperatures 10 to 30C without issues, principally for photographic editing and general office and internet use. The device has not required a reboot in this time. To connect my older screens to the dock I required to purchase 2 USBC to HDMI cable extensions, and it did take a bit of fiddling around to determine that one of those cables was partially defective out of the box and needed to be replaced (the screen registered on the laptop, but no image came up on the screen).

I love how easy the setup was, as well as the versatile ports. When I was looking at options, I ultimately went with maximizing USB C / Thunderbolt ports over specific video setups, since I currently have an HDMI monitor but know that's moving toward DisplayPort in the future. It was also annoying to have to unplug everything when I was traveling (since that adapter doubled as my travel adapter). This made it so I can have a permanent home setup, with a single cable that I can connect and disconnect from my laptop. As an added benefit: this comes with its own power input cable, freeing up my stock Apple charger for travel as well. I'm using the vertical stand, which really helps out with desk space.I had previously tried multiple (less expensive) docks, but ran into significant QA issues (with the previous docks I tried). This dock arrived exactly as expected, and worked immediately. I trusted Brydge based on their track record in the Apple ecosystem and B&H based on their track record as well.

But with a lightening adapter to HDMI I was able to easily replace my old docking station used with my Surface Pro 3. The Thunderbolt 4 was hard to find but well worth the price. B&H Photo had it and ordering was easy. Showed up and I put it to work. It solved my problem and provided me with a lot of options. I have no regrets. -D2

Product Does Not Work to Specs and Terrible Customer Service
23 January 2023

The product looks good on paper but when I try to use it with drives on the USB 3.2 ports, they fail every time. Started trying to get a fix in November. Customer service is unresponsive. Phone number doesn't work. Sent unit back for replacement. Have not received a replacement or any information on getting replacement sent.Looking a bit deeper, there are dozens of complaints on the BBB website and on TrustPilot, the rating is 2.1 out of 5.Since it was more than 30 days since purchase, B&H will not help resolve. Save your money.

First off, this is a great dock that provides a ton of functionality. I'm using mine with a 2021 MacBook Pro, and it's the only dock I need. I also appreciate the inclusion of vertical mounting stand, which helps save on desk space. If this were a $200 dock I wouldn't bother to note any complaints, but since it isn't, I will. The vertical mounting stand is great, but it isn't weighted. The dock itself is also pretty lightweight, so the combination is easily pushed around (and toppled) by cable flex if you're plugging and unplugging things. At least the base of the stand is hollow, so I'll probably fix some weights in there to make it more stable. My second criticism is with the position of the 90W T4 port (the one that can supply enough power to charge a laptop). ... MoreFirst off, this is a great dock that provides a ton of functionality. Why on earth is this on the FRONT of the device? It's the ONE cable that I won't regularly unplug, so why not put it on the back, by the power supply, and provide a couple of regular T4 ports on the front, where they're easily accessible to plug in hard drives and accessories? Maybe there's a technical reason why the 90W port had to be where it is, but it makes the setup clunkier and less convenient than it should be.

Stone Pro TB4 has lived up to the hype! This is a powerhouse. I have ran it through many test of "real world scenarios". It has performed amazingly. It is well constructed and has great connectivity. I recommend anyone looking for an all in one hub for computer connections via Apple or Microsoft systems this is the right product for you. The packaging was a little confusing at first but after a quick follow up email it was clarified. The sleek low profile look keeps the clutter down on the desk. I did up using the stand to hold the hub as well as laying it down horizontal. Either direction worked and kept a stable connection. Very cool color and design. The material is solid and feels good. It has just the perfect amount of ports! Definitely go grab your Stone Pro ... MoreStone Pro TB4 has lived up to the hype! This is a powerhouse. I recently purchased the 14" MacBook Pro with the M1 MAX chip and needed a good dock so I would only need 1 cable to plug in.I've always been skeptical about TB docks because they either work well or they don't, or just plain finicky. However, I've had this dock for about 2 months now and it is FLAWLESS. I take my Mac to work and then back home to WFH and everything shows up immediately. The even included the TB4 cable (which I'm so glad it comes included because TB4 cables are super expensive).All-in-all great dock!

I have been using this dock on a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 for about 2 weeks and it has been flawless. On previous docks I would have times where the video would cut out or USB devices would lose connection. I haven't experienced any of those problems on this docking station. My only issue is that the dock is so light, that when it sits in the vertical stand, my cables are heavy enough to knock it over. Regarding functionality, reliability and port options this is the best docking station I have owned.

I bought this to replace my Stone Pro Thunderbolt 3 dock (formerly made by HengeDocks). The dock ended up going bad after just a year and a half. I think it couldn't handle the amount of devices I plugged into it so I decided to upgrade to a Thunderbolt 4 dock. This one so far has been excellent. I have a Samsung T5 SSD, Lacie 4TB hard drive, LG 4k monitor, Bose speakers, USB 3.0 extender, ethernet cable AND a Logitech webcam all plugged into the back and the included Thunderbolt 4 cable running to my MacBook and it runs without a problem. No random disconnecting or faulty glitches.Note that webcams don't really work when you plug them plugged directly into the monitor and then run one cable from the monitor to the dock - it's better to run two separate USB cables ... MoreI bought this to replace my Stone Pro Thunderbolt 3 dock (formerly made by HengeDocks). This is an excellent dock, which prioritizes thunderbolt ports and doesn't take up too much space on my desk. My only frustrations are with the positioning of the ports on the front, which end up being a bit of a waste.Specifically, it's annoying that the 90W T4 port (the one that can supply enough power to charge a laptop) is on the *front* of the device. Since this is the one connector you'll rarely remove, it would make a lot more sense for the computer connection to be on the rear of the dock, out of the way.Similarly, the USB-A 2.0 connector on the front of the dock is really only suitable for USB charging of accessories, which means that the two most *accessible* ports on this dock are the least *useful*. I would have preferred to have one or two TB4 or at least high-power USB3 ports on the front, for easy attachment of peripherals like drives.Minor frustration, but the vertical stand is very lightweight, which makes the dock quite wobbly and subject to tipping over if you're moving cables around. The good news is that it's hollow, so you can add weights if you want to (I might).
