This is the best protein powder out there. I was getting fed up trying a bunch of different gross chalky protein powders. They are expensive and if you don’t like it you are stuck with it until it’s used up. I complained to my cousin about this and he was like “you have to try Syntha-6”. He was right, I loved it. I use it everyday in my morning smoothie. I haven’t found a flavor that I don’t like but cookies and cream is my favorite. The calories are standard per grams of protein so I don’t know how they have such a better flavor than all the others but it tastes amazing.

Artificial Ingredients are a Deal-Breaker

I think BSN's intentions are good, creating products that are meant to promote health and performance. Therefore, I hope they see this review and consider some critically important changes. The ingredients are unfortunately a deal-breaker. Artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, gums, corn syrups, etc. If all of these things were laid out on a table so you could actually see what you're putting in your body, would you ingest them? With so many companies ditching artificial stuff that is not meant for the human body, and going organic and all-natural, would love to see BSN do the same. The market for this is huge. Keep it simple and organic.

Does the Job

I returned to BSN after about a decade of trying out other proteins, most of which tasted awful and turned my guts into garbage, I was this edge variant and decided to give it a go. Not bad at all to be honest. It was a lot less sweet than I remember and having just one scoop as opposed to the 2 or 3 some brands make you shovel in made this quite palatable. Whilst I don't train 5-6 days a week like I used to, I lift on average 3 times a week and I've noticed no bad side effects. Whilst it's not the cheapest and I know modern folk are googling every ingredient under the sun... for the layman who likes to look after himself and not live off the latest fad diet this is a good supplemental protein in my opinion - tuck in

Fresh Start

I am not usually one to try a fruity flavor when it comes to my protein shakes but I was pleasantly surprised with the SYNTHA-EDGE Strawberry protein! That being said it still is not my favorite taste profile in the world but I had no problem chugging down a scoop after an intense workout. The consistency is great and it is not gritty at all. It blends well with both water or milk. I usually prefer milk with my protein powders because I think with water they usually don't taste as good but with this I almost always use water because it tastes just fine and allows me to cut out the extra calories and fat from my milk. Overall I was very impressed with this product. I am excited to try alternative flavors in the future.

HUGE protein jug!

So I got this sample of BSN syntha-6 edge And I couldn't believe how big the jug is! I was expecting to see a small sample and this was a full size bottle! That impressed me from the get go. 48 servings in this container! Calories are lower than some of the other products I have tried, which was nice to see. The protein content was so much higher as well compared to some of the other products I have tried. I want my protein powder to be higher in protein versus carbs and fats. I am basing my review solely on taste as I feel that is the most important aspect of protein shakes (for pre workouts I can forego the taste in exchange for performance but with a protein powder it all really comes down to taste). The syntha-6 cinnamon bun flavor was up to recently the best tasting protein powder I've ever had (it recently fell to number 2), but the syntha-6 edge was on sale so I figured i'd try that one - according to the customer service rep I spoke to the edge series tastes even better than the original; not sure if he actually tried it yet or not - I've had several servings so far and doubt i'll be able to have any more. Absolutley disgusting; it has an almost chemical taste to it; absolutely gut-wrenchingly wretched taste. Why mess with perfection, which you had achieved as far as taste for protein powders goes? I've been consuming protein powders for almost 15 years and if my memory serves me correctly, back then the flavor choices were very limited (Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry which no one could get right) and the taste was not what protein powders were there for; they served a purpose is all, but then Optimum Nutrition and BSN spoiled me with the flavors. Now BSN, you have brought me back to the days of consuming a protein powder purely for its benefits as I cringe to take another sip of your cinnamon bun syntha-6 edge. YUK.

I've tried this particular protein powder in taster sachets back when I used to buy Muscle and Fitness, and out of all the protein powders I've tasted, this has had the distinction of having the highest macrocount per serving I've had of any protein (not a bad OR a good thing) and also the nicest tasting. I've tried the Chocolate and the Strawberry Milkshake flavours, and both of those were mixed in 150ml of water, then shaken vigorously and left to settle for 5-15 minutes. Both had a thick, creamy consistency which I absolutely loved, and served only to compliment the taste. The Strawberry was my personal pick, and tasted exactly like a Nesquik Strawberry shake, which is a big plus! All in all, brilliant tasting product with a fairly high calorie count per serving, but that shouldn't be a huge problem unless you have a bugbear about calories for your whey.

Pretty good! Helped curb my food cravings.

I like how the Syntha-6 Strawberry was pretty tasty. I mixed it with some melted nutella. It mixed smoothly with my shaker bottle. I used it with 12 ounces of water for a more liquidy experience. There was no metallic protein taste. I enjoyed taking it after my workout because it helped me feel recovered faster. I felt the next day I was less sore than I would have if I had not taken the shake. I really liked the fun red bottle. The best part is that it sustained my satiety and kept hunger at bay. I really struggle with constant hunger. I am happy that this product mixed with my bcaa that I take have helped me from daily binge eating . It helped remove the sweets craving as well as the hunger .

Protein Matrix = Whey Protein formats

Tastes like a good milkshake. Mixes easily. The advertisement Ingredients List a Protein Matrix. Since some people, like myself, have intestinal problems with milk products such as Whey, it would be nice if the Ingredients List in the advertisement actually listed the Protein Matrix for what it is -- Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate and Hydrolyzed Whey Protein. My brother is enjoying the free Syntha-6 that I gave him.

When I received this product my first reaction was, WOW, this container is HUGE! After opening the container and combing it with cold water, I enjoyed the taste of the strawberry milkshake flavor of this product, but it did seem to leave a little of a chalky medicine type taste. I decided to try mixing it with unsweetened vanilla coconut milk and honestly, I preferred this method much better and it tasted more like a strawberry milkshake. Since it does get a bit clumpy when combined with cold products, I used a shaker with the shaker ball, which definitely helped to prevent clumping. With 48 servings in this container you're getting a great deal though, especially when when one scoop (36g) you're getting 24g of protein and only 6g of carbs!
