I am very disappointed now though that after only three months of use the fabric on the hoods have discoloured/ faded in the daylight and this is obvious when the ventilation pocket at the top is open.

After using a second-hand pram for our first baby, I spent a lot of time looking into double prams when expecting our second baby. The main things I like about this pram are that both children are at the same height, the seats can face forward or backward (which makes our first child much happier in the pram), it has a lot of storage capacity in the basket underneath, and has an extensive and breathable shade cover. We’ve used it a lot in single mode with the side basket (brilliant for grocery and market shopping, but also comfortable for long walks), and it doesn’t feel like you’re manoeuvring a big pram. It’s not as compact as others when folded (e.g. to fit in the car), but if you have enough boot space it’s quick and easy to fold down and put back up. I was in need of a double stroller and decided to try the Donkey 5. Being able to convert from a single to double was a huge selling point for me. Instead of having a separate single stroller to use, I can just use my Bugaboo and adjust it as needed. Also, being able to face them towards me or away is a great feature. The baby likes to see me and the toddler wants to face out. The side basket is really cool and there is plenty of storage in the bottom. I also like how it comes with rain covers. The large wheels make for a smooth ride and maneuverability. Other great features include how easy the harness is to adjust, and the leather handle and lap bars are really chic. I've had this pram for a couple of months now and we couldn't be happier with it. I've always had my reservations about double prams - especially as I use public transport a lot and live in a busy city. this pram is so accessible, as compact as it can be and perfect for so many terrains. my 3 year old sometimes get tired legs so its perfect to push her side by side with her baby sister, the integrated buggy board makes it easy for her to hop on it when she wants more freedom or not to be sat down - there is also loads of leg room so its super comfortable to push with board attached. It slims down to mono mode in a matter of seconds (literally) and I've had no problem getting it through standard doors or small spaces. The pram is excellent quality and you can tell from a mile off - strangers are always complementing the sleek design but its definitely more than that, it feels incredibly study and is a smooth yet secure push. The breezy mesh addition to the carrycot is also a great feature; it's useful in the winter to prevent stuffiness when baby is wrapped up in the carrycot, and obviously great for essential ventilation when it's hot! This pram is definitely an investment, but in my opinion 100% worth it.

Beautiful pram
21 March 2023

I love my Bugaboo donkey, bought for my toddler and soon to be newborn baby. It's elegant, ergonomic, and everything I love about Bugaboo. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the moulding marks on the plastic parts of the frame, although I polished these with black T cut and now they look a lot better. I was told by Bugaboo most frames have a degree of this and returning and re ordering was the only option and likely to have the same. This is a shame as my Bugaboo Fox had none of these marks, however a small price to pay for a beautiful pram. I was so happy with everything else I decided to look past these marks.

I brought the duo as we are expecting our second child in September and our daughter is only 14 months. This pram set has already been amazing to say.We started using it straight away as a single to make sure that we are comfortable and it has already made life easier; the side bag makes it so easy to do single shopping and the undercarriage is big enough that I’ve had no problem getting more than I need in it without struggle. The easy clips and straps are comfortable for my daughter and she is very comfortable enough to take a nap in it which she refused with her previous pram and the fabric wipes clean so easily which has just made my life so much easier. In love with this pram ! The best Double Stroller!
28 February 2022

Review strollerI was so torn on which double stroller to get! My wife put me in charge and I am a research guy. I researched every stroller known to man and ended up choosing the Bugaboo Donkey Duo. I normally don’t write reviews, but for this stroller, I HAD to!!First, my wife is impressed with me for choosing this one. She wanted lightweight, still fits through doors, easy to maneuver… but also sturdy, safe, and durable. She told me this type of stroller probably didn’t exist, but I found it :)I do have to say it is a little on the heavier side, but with how easy it is to maneuver, it does not matter at all. We have a 22 month old and a newborn and it is so easy to configure with a bassinet and “big girl” seat. When our newborn gets old enough, it will be easy to switch to two toddler seats. I see this stroller as definitely on the more expensive side, but I also see it lasting a very, very long time (unlike our single travel stroller from our 22 month old).Hopefully this helps another parent (and maybe another man tasked with the job make his wife think he’s a genius). Buy the bugaboo donkey duo - trust me, I did all the research!

Too big for my London flat
18 November 2022

I’ve been converting this buggy for years because it’s so cleaver. Having a singleton baby, I wanted the mono as it would mean that it could grow with my family over time. However, I realised that it’s too cumbersome for my tiny flat in London and opted for a smaller buggy (the Lynx).Purchase and return was easy. It’s a shame I can’t comment on the product itself as returned before using. However, I will say that the seat looks quite small and I’m worried that my child would not be comfortable in it for very long at all. Lynx has a much wider comfortable looking seat.

Wanted to Love Donkey5 -- but it fell short

We originally had the Fox2 and we loved the maneuverability and seat fabrics on it. When we found out that we were having a second, my wife tasked me with finding a side-by-side stroller. Naturally, I gravitated towards Bugaboo because the Fox 2 had fantastic steering and suspension - it just lacked storage space. The Donkey 5 is a monolith of a stroller, and it doesn't disappoint. Loading the Donkey 5 frame with both seats (or 1 seat and 1 bassinet) takes up 3/4 of the trunk space. Leaving us with barely any room left to store items in the trunk.- The storage space is also difficult to access. When the child is sitting straight up facing the front, it hinders your ability to easily access items. You must recline the child, then attempt to pull items out. On top of the horizontal bar and the seats sitting so low – it’s extremely difficult to pull items out. We found ourselves loading the undercarriage first, followed by clicking the seats on top.- While child(s) are facing forward, the seat does not fully recline for sleeping position. The top of the seat hits the side stroller frame. You can only set the seat to position 1 and 2. Position 3 can only be achieved when the child faces the parent (not away).- There’s not much storage space in duo mode. Coupled with the difficultness of loading/pulling items out + the horizontal bar – it’s been a nightmare for my wife and I. We see others with huge undercarriage baskets and that’s easy to load and access items. Perhaps extending the storage basket further backwards and fill up the sides to give us more storage space?- The color starts to fade. We know this from asking a few Donkey owners in the city. They’ve had their Donkey less than a year but use it frequently. The canopy fabrics and seat fabric fade from the sun.- There’s no suspension like the Fox2. We were spoiled by the Fox2, but the steering just wasn’t quite there for us.All in all, we wanted to Donkey5, but it just fell short for us. We’re glad that there was a 100-day trial/return. If we have a 3rd child and Bugaboo iterates these changes of feature requests – we’d be interested in trying it again. For now, since we sold our Fox2 and travel stroller, we’re going to purchase 2x – Bugaboo Butterflies (and even then I’m seeing reviews of the fabric pilling and fading.

Worth it
18 May 2022

I love Bugaboo. Their products are exceptional quality and comfort for my little ones. I love how my girls can sit side by side and I love that my younger one can face me. The under-storage gives lots of space for diaper bag and more. We walk a lot around town and this stroller can handle all the terrible sidewalks in NY without disrupting my sleeping infant. Even my toddler loves the 3 reclining options. It is easy to fold after a few tries. Not to mention this stroller is so chic, and give me all the accessories! We are very happy with our double stroller!
