All season backpacking and all around use

My jacket arrived on time and was packaged well. The fit was just right based on the sizing information that was provided and that I followed. The jacket is lightweight with the liner, perhaps a little heavier than anticipated, but with the liner I was warm with temperatures in the upper 20’s. Without the liner I would rate this an excellent 3 season jacket and plan to is this as my rain/primary jacket on a 12 day backpacking trip this summer. Without the liner the jacket packs small enough for my purposes. Based on the quality, I anticipate having this jacket for many years.

Bad Fleece liner

In every way this is a nice warm coat, I like the weight of it and the way it feels without the liner. I think the hood is nice and it could use more pockets. The outside vest pocket is too small for a iPhone by half. The removable liner is so soft that it bunches up when putting on or taking off the coat it needs to be straightened if it was simply a heavier material this would not happen. I have a fleece sweater that doesn’t do this so it works better than the inside fleece that’s removable that comes with the coat. If you don’t mind the pockets or lack of and you remove the flimsy liner. It’s a great coat it is priced $75.00 to high because of its flaws

Columbia Raincoat

I needed a raincoat. The heavily discounted price brought me to this garment and this color specifically. I liked the two-for-one idea of the removable fleece lining capable of be used separately. I could have warmth and rain protection, or just rain protection. I am a 52L in a suit, but bought the tall cut for a bit extra length in arms and waist. I absolutely cannot stand short sleeves in the rain. The sleeves are sufficiently long and can be hook and looped close to the wrist. The longer cut in the waist just sheds that much more water away from the body. I figured for the price I could take a flyer, and it instantly became my favorite in climate weather garment. Does its job!
27 February 2023

I'm not sure this is high fashion, as it hangs a bit like a potato sack. But up close it is very attractive, and the whole point is whether it is warm and does its job. I've been wearing mine for about a week now and I can say it has replaced two, maybe three old coats I own: my windbreaker, my athletic raincoat, and my heavy winter coat. Must include the lining for very cold weather, but when I take out the lining this is such a lightweight, almost-not-there jacket. Bonus: The lining is attractive and can be worn as a separate piece, almost another jacket all together! I wasn't sure about this one when I ordered it, but I've been very happily surprised.

I would buy this product again
8 November 2022

Perfect for windy, cold days. It is light, yet still warm. I wore it on a windy cold day to test the comfort warmth factor. After buying the jacket for my grandson. I didn't feel the wind or cold at all! The only thing I'd change is the second layer.. I'd use a solid color.. not the red plaid. It looks kinda farmerish...nothing wrong with farmerish look, at all, but it makes the jacket look more casual. It could be worn with a dressier/ more formal attire if the lining was a solid color. 👍🏽

Last time I ever buy a Bugaboo
27 January 2022

I first bought a Bugaboo back in 2006, and I loved it. Loved the inner jacket that could be removed if needed. It lasted for almost ten years. I had to replace it and the new did not come with an inner jacket at least not one that would keep you warm. I figured it was because I got it from Amazon. No problem, I still had my old inner jacket. After 4 years or so, I decided to buy a new one directly from Columbia. This advertised an inner jacket, and it did arrive, but the inner jack is so thin. I was hoping to finally retire my old inner jacket, but I guess that's not going to happen. It's not particularly cold out tonight, but even with my old jacket, and the one that came with the coat, it's still considerable colder.I'm seriously considering returning it. Missing attention to all of the details.
29 November 2022

The jacket itself looks great and the LT size was perfect for me. The fleece interchange jacket has some issues that Columbia Sportwear needs to take back to the drawing board. I've worn Columbia jackets for the past 25 years, starting with my first Titanium jacket. That fleece interchange jacket was the standard that should have been continued to this date. The cuffs were adjustable, the sleeves were lined, and the bottom hem of the jacket had elastic. The current fleece interchange has none of these and makes the fleece interchange jacket feel like a cheap thing thrown together to put inside of the Bugaboo to make it 3-in-1.

Not the Columbia it used to be.

I recently received this jacket as a gift, Columbia Bugaboo 3-1 as a replacement for another 3-1 jacket I had for many years. I have owned quite a few Columbia jackets spanning over many years now.Unfortunately, I have noticed as the years progress, the quality of Columbia items has seriously become worse, cheep quality.Very cheep fleece liner that you can not even slide your arms in and out of, extremely difficult to slide this jacket on and off, and be very careful when you pull your arms out if it, you will get a huge static charge and shock when doing so every time! They should have lined the sleeves with nylon. The sleeves as many reviews have indicated and are correct, are a few inches longer than the jacket sleeves, so they hang out a few inches longer ... MoreI recently received this jacket as a gift, Columbia Bugaboo 3-1 as a replacement for another 3-1 jacket I had for many years. Two Stars is being maybe to fair...

The best jacket I ever had. Purchased in 2008 Bugaboo, still like new!
29 December 2022

The quality of this jacket is incredible. I bought it to go to the UK during Christmas 2008, where I walked in the rain and cold for most of my stay, without feeling it thanks to it. Since then I have used it in the bitter Chicago winter, in the Smoky Mountains, on the NC beaches for 4wd and winter walking on the sand, with Willow, my dog. Also to work on the roofs of buildings with a lot of wind and with all the comfort of movement that a technician in industrial equipment needs, etc. I still have it and despite dozens of washes, it's still like new. I love this jacket, I'm glad they continue to make it.

Useful & Practical Coat
17 December 2022

This coat has so many great features! The multiple layers add warmth without being too bulky. It layers comfortably over heavier winter clothes (like sweatshirts or sweaters) without feeling tight in the shoulders & chest. Love that you can take out or add the different coat layers depending on the temperature & how much warmth you desire...even the hood can removed. And to top it off, it looks great with jeans or dress pants. This Columbia coat is a great addition to my closet!
