Never left a review but had to for these - not a single split board, snapped screw, or cam out, great product with no predrilling. I’ve never laid a deck but using decteck strips in combination with these I got a fantastic results. I was using merbau 5.4 m lengths onto old softwood and a ryobi impact drill.

I'm not in the habit of writing reviews but I had such a bad experience with these I had too. 50% snap into merbau, they won't countersink and most won't go in far enough unless you countersink. Switched to an alternative and had zero issues. These should be removed from sale.

Drilling weathered treated pine boards into pine joists.Bought these hoping the star drive meant they’d cam out less than the Zenith ones, but they wouldn’t even grip and start drilling in without me holding them in place! And they cammed out waaay more than the Zeniths, even though I turned the torque down, and down, and down . . . But even at maximum, which I started with, I couldn’t get them to start.I noticed the reviewer who said they wouldn’t countersink themselves & wouldn’t go in far enough without countersinking - the cutting nibs under the head look cheap & poorly made, not at all like the photo above, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t countersink. However, the only one I actually got in stopped about 5mm out & wouldn’t go further, so I couldn’t ... MoreDrilling weathered treated pine boards into pine joists.Bought these hoping the star drive meant they’d cam out less than the Zenith ones, but they wouldn’t even grip and start drilling in without me holding them in place! Absolute crap, the time you save not pre drilling is made up fixing screws that dont grab or snap. I wish i knew they arnt suitable for anything exept pine
While these do fasten very well, its 50/50 if they will shear if you try to remove them or make a second attempt to drive them in further. im not looking forward to if i ever have to remove boards. If i knew this i would have reconsidered using this product.
I used these on my deck and was grateful. No pre-drilling needed and found they pulled boards down well
