I received this Burberry product for free from Influenster and Coty in exchange for my honest review. The design of the bottle is stylish and elegant. I dig its angular shape and glass color. Also, I find it a fun and practical idea to make a magnetic cap with embossed monogram on it. Very cool. I found the fragrance itself somewhat predictable but I think it’s quite well rounded. The cedar notes are prominent. Strong woody vibe. Sweeter than the original Burberry Hero. I was not too impressed with the performance of this perfume but I think it’s decent for fall/winter and I will definitely keep using it this season. My wife likes it a lot on me. She thinks it’s rich, masculine, sweet (but not cloying sweet) and very sensual.

I personally liked the Hero scent on my husband yet he feels it was overly “sweet”and is not something he would choose to wear on a regular basis. I like the fresh, clean fragrance of Hero, but it’s not a cologne I would purchase.

The same EDT they released last year was a step in the right direction. Almost every cologne begins like this, and it’s quite often a disappointment. What matters most, and fragrances are subjective, is did the flanker improve it? With this one yes! EDT is I believe around a 5% concentration of the fragrance mineral oils, where EDP’s are around 10 to 15%. This doesn’t mean the EDP, or I’m really excited for the parfum version of this, is always going to project more. Yet more often than not that is the case. Only one house I own, has EDT that’s more powerful than its flankers. In spring, fall, and winter this will deliver more of a scent trail. Also it will last longer. Yet on a not too hot summer day, you can pull this off. The fall and winter, with its warm notes of pine, frankincense, benzoin, and Atlas and Virginia cedars is where this colognes “home” is. You’re probably thinking “that’s not a lot of notes.” You’d be correct. A lot of both designer and niche houses, are going this route, and sometimes simplicity is best. This isn’t always the case, but what I like is Burberry has learned a new trick. They’ve always been known as skin scents. Yes even their London which I still love for its tobacco flair, lacks the projection that I particularly like. Their research has served them well here. This one isn’t a beast, but it’s approaching that, and when the parfum flanker is released that’ll probably be the monster strong one. Sometimes balance wins though, and here for a couple hours you’ll have two feet of projecting. Then it goes down to one foot, and to a skin scent roughly after 4 hours. That’s a major improvement, and kudos to the men and women who definitely worked hard on this once Achilles heel. The sillage or “scent trail” is decent, although it won’t be considered spectacular. That’s the only downside I see, but this would be an awesome date scent to pull that lady closer. I really love the pine bouncing with the frankincense and cedars. The house took the gloves off, and I believe I saw this for around $97 a bottle online. That makes this a solid bargain, and in the very recommended category. Burberry may have never publicly acknowledged disappointment, but sometimes it’s best to, return with something truly special. I believe they’ve successfully done this. Age wise for this is probably 30 to 50 or so, but that’s ultimately up for you to decide. This one is a winner, and it is suitable for the office, weekends out and about, but I think it’s definitely one to woo the ladies with in a romantic setting. 3 sprays to the chest, should be enough to get that special lady’s attention with this cologne. Burberry Hero Eau de Parfum Well, to be honest in this review i didn’t like the aroma as much as other Parfum fragrance, yes i understand that there is pine needles top notes with some Incense and Olibanum. The base notes are pretty intense as well with some Atlas Cedar, Himalayan Cedar, and Virginia Cedar, i do love Woody aroma but the only issue is that in combination it gives you a strong smell of leather with strawberry at the end, which is the main reason why i didn’t like it at all. Well, if you are into intense leather type of smell on combination for the whole day, then this might be the one for you! i do like woody fragrances but this one didn’t do the good match for me. For my honest review, i will give it a 3.5 star from 5 stars. The fragrance does have enough weight to it, though, to add to your winter rotation, if the scent becomes one of your favorites. I gave this fragrance a “good” rating, instead of a higher score, because it is difficult for me to pick up on the smell. I had to spray quite a bit and hold my wrist up close to my nose, in order for the smell to appropriately register. Bold and Rugged

Personally I enjoy wearing cologne to work or going out. Smell is one of the 5 senses and very important after all. To me this product knocks at your door with a loud and aggressive bang. It is a very strong cologne that will definitely make a statement. The smell isn’t bad but feels overwhelming for my nose at the least. It definitely last long and I don’t forget it’s on me. If you want to make an statement and force your presence into other peoples noses than this is the cologne for you. I like more of a sweet and inviting fragrance and this one is a little more rugged and daring. Overall I am indifferent about this product and wouldn’t buy it but I also wouldn’t be upset if it was gifted to me.

I could see myself putting it in my rotation of colognes, but probably won't wear it often. The scent seems to start out a bit heavy and lingers a while before mellowing out. Overall, Hero is an excellent warm weather choice for guys who do not like the fruity, heavy citrus and/or aquatic fragrances, which are so prevalent this time of year. While Hero possesses a definite cooler weather vibe, Burberry has done a masterful job of offering us a woody/spicy fragrance option that is fresh enough to wear during summer months. I sincerely appreciate this, because, in my opinion, there aren’t enough of these scents around when warmer weather hits.

Nice, but nothing special

It's not that Burberry Hero doesn't smell nice - it is a sophisticated gentlemen's scent, however, it is nothing new. At first sniff, 90s perfumes like Fahrenheit come to mind. Burberry Hero fits right into this line, a solid, reliable, pleasant, generic men's perfume. The bergamot gives it a perfectly balanced citrussy splash. So far, so good, but I'm disappointed anyway. I'd not be willing to pay a Burberry price tag for something that was hip 20 years ago. On me, it lasted long, but it changed over time and smelled like it might as well be som nondescript Axe after shave. If that floats your boat, this one is for you. To me, it is just not special enough.
