I was so impressed the first time I pulled the Bee! It was so smooth and also flawless when turning. It's very lightweight. I had no worries about the security of my LO. The push button wheels are SO easy to take on and off which is very handy for storing or packing it in the car. I could rave about this thing for a while! I'm also very impressed with the availability of parts for many, many years back if needed! Many cheaper trailers don't have available parts so if something goes out, the whole thing ends up in the trash. There are so many wonderful things about this trailer that I feel bad adding any negative comments... But here are a couple which are VERY minor to me. There are so many wonderful things about this trailer that I feel bad adding any negative comments... But here are a couple which are VERY minor to me. My LO is 7 months old so I got the baby snuggler and we stick to paved trails. She sits well, excellent balance, the pediatrician gave us the thumbs up to pull, etc. I know the recommended age for biking is 1 year so maybe that plays into my issue and maybe the optional stroller trailers don't have this issue... I like that the shoulder straps slide up and down for easy adjustment, but even with the straps in the lowest position, they are still too tall and hit right across my LO's ears. The baby snuggler came with ultra soft strap pads so this hasn't bothered her, but I would like a better fit. The only other negative is that for some reason, my trailer is difficult to pop into place while folding it up out of the flat position. Not a big deal, it just needs some extra super mom strength to get the top bar to lock onto the lower. Hope my "improvement" comments don't deter anyone! This is a well made, wonderful, sturdy, and safe trailer that I am very pleased with!

This is an okay trailer. We also have a Thule Chariot, which has a nicer ride with a lot more features, but is also a lot more expensive. I've had some issues with water getting through the rain cover and it's pretty squeaky. The strap that is a backup attachment to the hitch also broke pretty early on. I was able to fix it with some staples and electric tape, but obviously that's not ideal. It does ride pretty nicely and seems solidly constructed.

I've owned this for a little over two months now. At first I was skeptical due to the size of it. I was worried that my 50lb six year old son, and 30lb two year old daughter would fit. I was pleasantly surprised that they both fit in there together. This was very easy to assemble, and took all of about 10 minutes before I had it put together and hooked onto my bike. We've put about 40 miles on this since owning it. The kids love it, and I love the nice storage area in the back for all their toys on a trip to the park.

I have a lot of things. I'm American. I try and buy quality, but things aren't built to last anymore. Of all my many things, the one that I hold in the highest esteem is my Burley Bee trailer. We've had ours since 2012. We've put well over 1000 miles on it, likely 2-3k. It's hauled our oldest child by herself, and then both kids, and now just our youngest while the oldest rides a Piccolo behind her mom. In those hundreds and hundreds of miles, we've *never* had a flat tire. The wheels are still as smooth as the day we took it for our first test drive. We've ridden ours primarily on asphalt and concrete, but occassionally on gravel and dirt roads. The Bee has incredible storage space to haul two kids and everything you need for a picnic outing. The storage area is secure enough with fabric walls and thick nylon bottom that I place my digital camera, telephoto lens and binoculars in there. The kids have always been comfortable and have never complained about the seats or straps. They enjoy looking out the "windows" of the clear plastic sides and front. The rain cover is nice just in case. We've taken ours on long trips and it's so easy and quick to pop off the wheels and fold the trailer down flat. I'm an uber critic, so if I were to suggest something to make this a 6-star product, it would be a fully waterproof cover made out of the same material as an Ortlieb pannier bag. I live in Eugene, OR, and based on my experience with the Burley Bee, I'm very proud to have this company call Eugene home, too.
If you are even remotely on the fence you should pull the trigger. You won’t regret it. I’ve got 2 toddlers (4) and (2) and they absolutely love riding with me. They are a combined 65 pounds and you can feel that they are being pulled, but the Burley Bee is super smooth and does is great job at weight distribution. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star review is because I feel like I wasn’t given any notice that I needed to buy a rear through-axel for my bike separately. I went to every bike store in town and finally got lucky at a local Trek shop. Make sure you know in advance if you need to purchase a through-axel separately. Maybe I am just a rookie and should have known this? I don’t know but it took me weeks to find the part locally and the kiddos had to walk by it all set up without riding for weeks while daddy found the part. Otherwise this is the best valued trailer on the market IMO. Would and will recommend to friends with tykes. Sure makes neighborhood pool days a lot easier
Wonderful - use several times a week to transport kids to school, sturdy, lightweight compared to the Thule, doesnt double as a stroller but I think you could own different trailers for different purposes. For us - a bigger pram with a step is used for walks over busy roundabouts - where my eldest wouldnt be safe on her bike. This is perfect for a drop to nursery on days that I work from home. Use in conjunction with an electrified mountain bike, can be a bit heavy up hills with kids in tow but my battery makes short work of it.
I bought this about a month ago for my 2.5 y.o. and 1 y.o. I thought my eldest would want nothing to do with being towed in the trailer, but most of the time he specifically requests the bike trailer versus the bike seat on the back of my husband’s bike! It was easy to put together and has a sturdy, high-quality feel to it. The passive suspensions seems to work pretty well too based on the feedback my kid gives me when I ask him (but who knows… he is 2). Overall, we have had a great experience with it so far and would recommend it for anyone looking for a simple, but quality bike trailer.
This trailer seems great, but I can't put it together. The "easy" snap in place function takes some serious upper body/hand strength. I'm used to hauling a 35# kiddo around and cannot do it. I watched the official video to make sure I was doing it right as well, and yep - sure am. I know they need to make it work for most folks, but some sort of easier option than using the thumbs for leverage of so much force would be better. I have to wait for my partner to help, which makes this a 1* for me. Such a bummer to be so excited, and unable to use it.
So far, after just a few rides, I am very pleased with my Burley Bee trailer. I was worried it would be difficult to pull, but the only difficult thing is remembering that it is attached! And it takes corners beautifully. It's worth going with a company that's been doing this for a while-- they have had time to work out the kinks. I did buy the extra padding, which I think should have come with the trailer; it is worth having for the comfort of my 16-month-old. So far it's her sleep buggy. I look forward to many adventures with her!
I was so pleased to receive our Burley Bee double trailer rather quickly. Set-up was super easy and I didn’t need any additional parts to attach to my bike. My toddler loves sitting in the trailer, and I love looking back o see her enjoying a smooth, safe ride behind me. There’s also a decent amount of “trunk space” in the back for toys, backpack, picnic, etc. I’m so glad we decided to get this trailer for our family.
