I hemmed and hawed for months about these because of the price and required Step-On compatible boots. I finally got the boots on discount and bit the bullet to buy these bindings - what a game changer. When I get off the lift, I literally just click in and start my ride. My ski buddies are surprised they don't have to wait for me. My snowboard pals are jealous. I love this system! That being said - I'm not a pro level person so can't speak to the flexibility, adjustments, etc. For a Blue Square/Black Diamond person like me, they're awesome.

Ultimately, I'd primarily consider your riding crew and budget before purchasing the Step On Bindings. If your snowboard buddies rock traditional straps, you're just going to be waiting around anyway. But if your riding partners ski or like to explore the mountain without getting into anything too committing, give the Burton Step Ons a try. Another consideration is that once you go Step On, you're commited until you decide to change your entire setup — boots and bindings. Burton's proprietary ecosystem doesn't come cheap and the more limited selection of Step On compatible boots won't fit every single foot, so I'd recommend trying on the boots before making the plunge.

My wife and me both ride step on. They are great for riding. But the bad product quality sucks. Bad quality painting, dents and sharp edges. I just cut my finger installing it on a sharp edge. Reporter these issues last year with no improvement. This is poorest quality at premium cost!

I've had step-ons for 2 seasons and it's been a game changer! No longer have to ever sit down and strap in. In some cases you can click in as you get off the lift and go - like skiiers! Now I wait for skiiers to get ready instead of the other way. The connection system is completely solid and never felt even remotely like I would fall out of the bindings. This is a solid and amazing upgrade from straps. Getting out of the bindings is obviously different, but its mostly a matter of practicing it a few times before you hit the slopes to get the muscle memory.
I am still getting used to them, mainly when it comes to unlocking the foot and the feeling of not having the straps on top of your feet, but they are so convenient and easy to step on.If you don´t mind the strap process, the step-on system may not be for you as it is pricey, and you need to commit to the special boots, but if you hate sitting in the cold snow to strap your bindings, these are great. The edge of the binding is a bit too sharp, so you want to wear gloves while transporting the board.
Shame on Team Burton. I posted feedback on Burton’s website, where I provided my honest feedback (4 stars was given). Burton filters/controls everything, as such mine was not posted, even after I verified it via my email, as what they asked. I followed up and no answers. I seriously do not think I gave any bias/bad review about this, but very honest opinion. Seems like Burton chose to release the good ones and block out the ones involves the second thoughts. Really?!Here is what I remembered -“ I purchased the flex step on boots and binding, since I was due for a new pair of boots. Binding is super easy, just clip on and go, and I’ve never popped out once. However, it requires a solid surface to click the heel twice. On pow day, it is harder to make the 2nd heel ... MoreShame on Team Burton. I posted feedback on Burton’s website, where I provided my honest feedback (4 stars was given). Binding is super easy, just clip on and go, and I’ve never popped out once. However, it requires a solid surface to click the heel twice. On pow day, it is harder to make the 2nd heel click. Step on boots are surprisingly stiff and hurt my calf and pinky toes for the first 2 times. The Boa lace comes loss too easy and I have to tight the lace after every single run. For a longer run, I often have to stop at the half way to tight up the Boa.I used to have the traditional lace, and this is my first Boa, so not sure if this is the general issue across the board. I personally prefer to have a snug fit on boot.Binding is responsive and I have no problem on green and blue runs. But I found myself struggled making the quicker turns on steeper terrains, such as double blue and black. I once caught my heel edge when I was on my toe side and in the middle of transition to heel side. This has never happened to me before. For me, I have no problem bending down and strap in, and I stand up to do so. Since my body is learned the traditional strap in and muscle memory are used to it. I switched back to straps. I think this would be great for someone who is new, you can learn and grow on step on. Or someone who has issues bending and straps.”To add on, I noticed when I stepped on, and try to turn the board, the back of the binding comes up first (I have it forward lean setting at F4), then the board starts to twist. Maybe that’s the “delay”. Yes, I returned those, and went back to the traditional way. I prefer to have better control over convenience. Burton has great products, but surprised how much filter it involves.
I returned the bindings before I had the chance to take it to the mountain - the experience of clicking out of them was so infuriating there’s no way I’d ruin my time on the snow with these. Stepping in was simple enough although even on an even flat floor it took an extra fish to get the second click, that was the first red flag. But it was the clicking out that took it to the next level for me. As a goofy foot rider you have to twist your knee in the most unnatural way to get out of the binding. I kept trying and trying this way and that way hoping to get it but no it’s an awful design. Also, once I started reading other negative reviews of front clips breaking off, my mind has been made up to return.
I've taken these bindings out 5 times and my feet pretty stable in the L bindings with both the Burton limelight 9 and 9.5 shoes. I enjoy how quickly I can step onto my bindings, and, as long as I step onto them properly, I don't have any concerns about my feet popping out. I especially recommend step ons to anyone who gets out of breath by strapping in. The bindings and boots purchased separately were definitely worth it on sale.
great so far. easy to snap in and out of , they feel very light and after a few tries it seems fairly easy. I need a bit more experience getting out of them, but I know after a few runs it will be second nature. the feel so far is amazing. very happy so far
So far I really like these bindings. It took me a couple days to get more proficient at home to step into theme properly. A little difficult to undue back boot when getting in line as the release lever is so far back that when your coming down into line whee as before it was easy on the regular style bindings to release the buckles quickly while in a forward position, with this lever being back you have to position yourself different for the release which can be a challenge on certain slopes when getting in line. i can usually step right in when exiting a chair which is nice but also requires me getting on toe edge to be able to properly weight all the toe clips to make sure I’m in the bindings completely. I had the original step in from Burton in the 90’s and liked ... MoreSo far I really like these bindings. It took me a couple days to get more proficient at home to step into theme properly. It is nosiey coming down the slopes you hear a lot of creaking but it doesn’t bother me.
