Sketchy climbs and exposed lines are Burton Driver X boot’s domain. Known as the most responsive boot in snowboarding, its burly demeanor is balanced by practical upgrades in warmth and comfort. A one-two punch of DRYRIDE Heat Cycle and Sleeping Bag reflective foil captures and radiates body heat while wicking away heat-robbing sweat. Total Comfort balances the power with a perfectly broken-in feel right from the start. Grippy Vibram EcoStep outsoles cling to the mountain with confidence. Add it all up and you get the only choice for riders who hike, sled, guide, or patrol, as well as freestyle technicians like Terje Haakonsen.

Love the Driver X for the stiff flex, vibram sole and reduced footprint. This boot is slightly shorter than the Ion, making it the perfect choice for Big Foots like me, who want to reduce toe and heel drag. It’s a bit narrower than the normal width Ion boot, so if you have wider feet choose the Ion or even Ion wide.Unfortunately this boot doesn’t last super long. After 40-50 days, the lacing slowly starts to rip out from the side and the sticking on the tongue and toe cap breaks apart. After 60 days this boot is done. Until that happens, it's an awesome boot!

On my 2nd pair. First one lasted 8 seasons. Other one is now good for garbage. The front stiches holding the rubberish toe cap are all torned up. This part of the boot takes all the tension once firmly strapped in bindings (torsion and flex). Once broke, the boots looses stiffness, lateral and front flex hold. Poor design. Pretty disappointed… Else, very comfy and stiff. Was my favorite boots for 10 years.
