I tried on probably 7 pairs of boots before settling on these. Their downsides: Heel not as locked down as I would like. Just a single BOA knob and no internal heel lock mechanism. The upsides: They were the most comfortable boots I tried on and they were the easiest to get on and off. I'm a recreational snowboarder, hang out on the blue hills mostly and only go out 2 or 3 times a year, but these boots are perfect for me.

I've ridden Burton Motos for a while now; they're the best-selling snowboard boot on the globe for a reason! I've learned almost every turn and trick on these things and they still feel comfortable and reliable, but if you're looking for value for money they're excellent too. Although they're beginner boots they seem unbreakable and I have yet to hear a complaint for someone who has ridden them about either the price or about how long they last.I'm ridding a size 44, which is very true to my own sneaker size, and although I am quite tall they don't feel too flexible. The boots work anywhere but they fit best in a freestyle environment, as they're flexy and playful. The inner shoe is soft and comfortable while the speedlacing simply works. The downside for me personally is that they have the typical Burton mold, meaning that they're made for people with quite broad feet and high arches. I've used insoles almost all the time in order for them to fit well with my skinny feet, but this is simply something to keep in mind. Whenever I go into unknown terrain off-piste or want to try a new trick I look to my boots and bindings for stability, but with these Motos the flex rating isn't high enough to give you proper support in those conditions. Because of this, I tend to strap in a little too hard, making for a lot of cramp and worn-out feet at the end of the day. They're great value for money and comfortable boots to learn anything from powder turns to jib tricks, but if it's support you're looking for you should definitely look elsewhere. Also, make sure to try them on in order to see whether they properly fit your feet!

These are the first boots I’ve had with the quick/speed laces system. Great in theory but will see over time if they hold up. Great support with a slight lean forward. You get a superior fit if you have a shop with the heating system which helps mold the liners to your foot. If not, lace up liners tight and wear around the house. You can also use ace bandages to wrap tight around the liners while wearing at the house to help the molding process. Very comfortable for all day riding and have great support for edge control but still enough flex for the park. In my opinion they run about 1/2 size (1/8”) small. Boots have come along ways from the old days of riding with Sorels back in the 80’s. Ive rented these boots before and i love their simplicity, profile, and comfort. I have a big foot and these boot eliminate toe drag compared to some other brands. Pull string for liner and a boa for the shell makes slipping in and out a breeze. The size 14 fits perfectly and allows me to shred the whole day without discomfort...The only draw back is the product origin. I wish they were made in the U.S.A.!#sweepstakes
Currently in the process of contacting customer care haven't even rode these boots for a full term year maybe only used them 5 times if that as I can't always get out much, and yesterday when I was out the spinner on the boot to tighten the laces, litteraly snapped off and broke and I was forced to rent boots from the resort, which just barely fit. So now here I am contacting customer care when they open, and hoping they can do something for me. but as of now if these boots are that poorly made I wouldn't bother to even buy them.
I like the laces on these boots and the look of them with the "scales" on the toe are pretty cool. I don't think these are the most comfortable boots and I get pressure on the top of my foot when I flex down with my knees over my toes. I'm hoping they'll still break in but will definitely be considering insoles or something to help with the foot pain. With the product reviews being so high on these Burton Ions I would have to give great caution buying into the idea these are "the best" boots. Try some on and most definitely have them molded to fit in store.
Great boots, my 4th pair of IONs over the years. I did get BOAs for the first time ever and make note, the BOAs can come off if they are impacted. However, they are made to do so on these boots and they can be put back on.I also need to run these boots a little looser than I am used to. Previous models I would need to crank down, but if I do that here, it really hurts my feet. With the right tension (much lighter), they are very comfortable and supportive boots. My go to.
Great boot thats fits true to size right out of the box! The inner boot with a speed lace is quick, easy, and very comfortable. The outer boot is kind of stiff overall, but has enough flex to tweak your tricks. The Boa lace system is easy to get your desired amount of tension dialed in perfectly! On the way back up the mountain, just pull the dial out to relieve the tension, and help circulation to your feet when not riding. I've only got to use the boots once since it's only November, and not much for snowfall yet, so I can't say how they are for durability, but so far so good! Since the Boa system is warrantied I'm not worried about failure if they break. In fact I've already bought replacement laces/dials from the Boa website for $10 each so I have them ahead of ... MoreGreat boot thats fits true to size right out of the box! Definitely the nicest boots I've ever owned, and know there's probably much nicer boots if you have the money, but I am very pleased with the Moto so far.
That boot, looking back on the season, is an interesting experience in terms of break-in process. I feel like the break-in process started when I put them on in the parking lot, when I left the gondola atop the mountain on the first day, the boot was broken in :) Now why I think that: the first few days I was paying attention to how the boot feels, which was very nice from the beginning, very comfortable yet responsive. Then you wonder, what happens when it breaks in, any changes? But I didn't`t experience any changes, throughout the season the boot practically didn't`t change (I got around 35 days on it this winter). Flex I would rate medium/stiff and lacing is super easy. Great boot.Cheers, marco
i purchased the boot in my size a us 8. when the boot arrived i tried it on and it felt a bit small. after riding it for 1-2 runs it felt like my foot was broken. i rented boots for the rest of my trip. when i got home and tried returning the boot. BT told me this wasn't possible. when i wrote them saying that they are selling boots which are not true to size (false advertising) they offered me a 20€ rebate code and told me i shouldn't have a problem selling the boot since i only rode it once. excuse me but this is not how you run a online shop on 2021 where stores are closed and people have to be able to trust online purchases can be returned. i will not be shopping here again and will be sharing my story with other boarders.
