Burton Ruler Step On Snowboard Boots - Black - 2023

To shine on the slopes in terms of style and performance, equip yourself with the Step On Ruler snowboard boots from Burton. They give you the support and comfort you need for every session. The Burton Step On snowboard boots are an all-mountain model for men. They are equipped with the Step On technology which allows to connect the boot and the Step On binding in a very easy and fast way. The adjustment is done by a BOA tightening wheel on the front of the boots. The Step On outsole allows the bindings to be worn standing up. The optimised EST midsole provides better balance and a better feel. Thanks to the Total Comfort construction technology, the Burton Ruler Step On boots do not need a break-in period. They offer an immediate feeling of comfort. They feature internal gusseting that keeps snow out while keeping feet dry and warm during the day. The Sleeping Bag insulation under the feet effectively retains heat. Imprint 2 thermoformable booties taking advantage of 3M Thinsulate insulation further enhance comfort, protection and performance. To support the foot and simplify putting on and taking off, these boots feature a BOA lacing system. The laces are very strong and durable, made of natural fibres for comfort. To reduce fatigue and for optimal shock absorption, the manufacturer has padded the cuff with stretchy neoprene fabric on the medial and lateral sides and a soft, warm fur lining. bought these for my teenage son for Christmas. Felt a little snug coming out of box (we ordered what would have been true to size for him) and after the first day breaking them in on his board they were perfect. He loved the feel and the step in binders are a game changer for him. He's a happy boarder!

These boots are super comfy, And I do recommend them. BUTTTT they DO NOT fit women's bindings. You HAVE to buy men's bindings if you buy men's boots. The hook in the front is in a completely different location. I bought these because they didn't have my size in women's. No big deal, right? Burton Ste[p-on's are Burton Step-on's. WRONG!! It's not even close. With that said, I LOVE my Step-on's and these boots are very comfortable. So I do recommend them. However, it should say somewhere that they are not cross compatible.

Good basic step on boots

Nothing to write home about with these boots. They're Burtons most basic step on boots, with BOA. They have a good amount of flex in them so mobility isn't an issue. They stay nice and warm. They aren't uncomfortable. I wear pretty close to true in size, (I wear 10-10.5 in shoes, 10.5 in these boots) If you can, spring for something with Dual BOA. Single makes parts of the boots feel inconsistently tighter and looser in some areas.

Great boot
22 February 2024

I bought these boots to go along with the step on bindings, which are amazing, If you are tired of sitting down and strapping in, or are a snowboarder of a certain age, just pull the trigger and get them. The boots are comfortable and they are also the first BOA boots that I have owned. Much easier than laces. I wear a 9 in most shoes but went with the 9.5, and I'm glad I did. Wore them three days in a row, all day and have no complaints.

Great boot! Order a full size up though
1 March 2022

I am just a casual rider, but I finally took the (expensive) plunge and invested in Burton step on boots and bindings, and I am never going back. This will transform your experience. SO much of my middle age rapid exhaustion on the slopes is because of the incessant up and down required with strap bindings, not to mention my frequent wiping out off the lifts (don't judge). It took just a little getting used to, but this binding set up gives you so much more control and feel while riding, coming off the lifts, and getting on and off the board. You also don't have to drag the board with one leg through the lift line, which is amazing. The men's size 10 boot will fit on the women's large step on binding. Hail to all the moms who ride??

Great boots
18 April 2022

Super great boots. Personally I like reletively soft boot, I do park and all mountain, hit (double and even triple) diamond, side hits, natural dorp/jumps, grabing 180/360s on midium jumps. Basically I do every thing. The ruler boots are great, they provide enough response on the slopes and when loose them a little bit they give me tolerance in park. The best thing I like is I just need a step and push a little after getting off the lift before start riding.

Great boots, comfortable.
4 January 2024

Boots feel great, I bought online and then took to the store to get fitted. They suggested size down, it make a huge difference. I have been out a few times this year and my feet feel great all day and no discomfort at the end of the day. The have started to mold to my feet and each time it feels better. The BOA is nice and makes it easy to adjust.

The FUTURE is NOW!
2 September 2023

I genuinely believe these are the most comfortable boots that Burton owns. I've had several pairs of Burton's spender line but don't feel they are as comfortable as the ruler. These are my first step on pair and though the boot is the same - it is a little tighter (width) than the same size of the ruler non-step on version. With that said, still the same comfort and flexibility. Great overall ride and AMAZING difference from the strap in to the step on... STEP ON ALL THE WAY!!!! THIS IS THE FUTURE!!

Very comfortable
18 June 2023

Very comfortable, seems like they provides good responsiveness. The step ons in general are really quick and responsive edge to edge. I'm not crazy about the hook and loop (velcro) closure on the liner. It's annoying trying to keep the sides separate as you put the boots on, but other than that they're great.

like a glove, but even snugger!

I tried on other boots and I'm a 9.5 men's size. They were way too small. Then I bought clip or step on bindings for 9.5 to 11 boots. Then I tried on size 10 boots and still hurt my feet were way too tight. I started to panic a bit because I already purchased the bindings and the boots max size for those bindings are size 11 boots lol it's confusing at first seriously if no ones helping you. Anyway I ordered these boots in a 10.5 size and my foot and heel finally slid to the bottom. They felt super good and decently snug even unlaced and stuff. The ting has to be maneuvered to the shin then you grab the lace locking mechanism and tighten that first. Omg it works so amazingly well. The ting has to be maneuvered to the shin then you grab the lace locking mechanism and tighten that first. Omg it works so amazingly well. The round thing spins until you press it in then it tightens the string laces to the boots tongue to your shin these fit! They feel incredibly comfortable! I was and am so happy I bought these and everything worked out lastly you step on to the bindings do your front only when sliding to the lift then clip on right before you get into the chair. The easiest for me on the slopes is clicking into back foot first I just stand up then clip the front foot last and gooooo,! Lol so they clip in extremely nicely Burton you guys are amazing. I noticed after a fall laying on my back that it's difficult to get up lol. I'm a surfer not a boarder yet per day. So I gently tried unclipping on boot. And I couldn't get it off so I kicked the board and pilled up lever as best I can with back disabilities and finally it unclipped. I'm a disabled man trying to snowboard and it's very difficult but I barely unclipped and got up to my feet. All in all the bindings are a bit tough to eject but they definitely stay on great and that's what boarders need to happen. The design of the bindings to boots is so so amazing and works very well. The only thing I noticed is the newer the bindings the tougher they are to unclip. So it was the heel side that wasn't coming off too well I think the more I unclip these and step in they will break in nice.Thank you Burton for the means for me being disabled to try snowboarding for the first time ever I cannot tighten the strap kind at all. I might rig up a Paracord to the release lever for easier access because of my limited reach to that release lever. Anyway great snug comfy boots thank you Back country!
