The Step On binding system from Burton is without a doubt the future of snowboarding! Quick and easy, to put on and take off, are the first stand out features of these bindings. The Step-On bindings have a similar design to classic bindings except the straps have disappeared and have been replaced by three connection points instead. These connection points are placed on each side of the shoe at the front of the foot and in the Achilles tendon area. Simply place your feet in the baseplate and there you go, they're fixed! The Step On Mens is a model for men who are advanced snowboarders. They're one of the most comfortable models in the Burton. In addition to speed, the overall performance of the Step On is incomparable with traditional bindings. Pair them with the Photon Step On, for a style more suited to Freeride. Or, if you go for the Ruler Step On, you will then have the perfect combination to have fun on the slopes and at the snowpark. The shoes dictate the binding. That's why the Step On offers a medium 6/10 flex and medium cushioning to make it a very versatile binding. The Step On is a very responsive binding that literally sticks the foot to the base and against the spoiler. These bindings provide lateral support, for easy flexion. There's no compromise on precision and reactivity with the Step On! The Burton Step On Mens bindings are designed for intermediate to expert snowboarders who don't want to waste any more time putting on their bindings and want to make the most of everything the mountains have to offer.

They’re beyond impressive. Heard mixed reviews prior to purchase about boot fit and responsiveness. They’re more responsive than regular bindings. Obvi easy to click in n quick. I’ve used the, on approximately 10 trips so it’s a in depth review. Of he bindings and boots. Use DC boots for the comfort and stiffness. I used the DC step on boots and don’t regret the change. It’ll give you the best performance, comfort, and responsiveness with the step one. Makes me curious to see how the low backs compare to these already Impressive bindings. You’ll be down the mountain while others are still binding up.

Shame on Team Burton. I posted feedback on Burton’s website, where I provided my honest feedback (4 stars was given). Burton filters/controls everything, as such mine was not posted, even after I verified it via my email, as what they asked. I followed up and no answers. I seriously do not think I gave any bias/bad review about this, but very honest opinion. Seems like Burton chose to release the good ones and block out the ones involves the second thoughts. Really?!Here is what I remembered -“ I purchased the flex step on boots and binding, since I was due for a new pair of boots. Binding is super easy, just clip on and go, and I’ve never popped out once. However, it requires a solid surface to click the heel twice. On pow day, it is harder to make the 2nd heel ... MoreShame on Team Burton. I posted feedback on Burton’s website, where I provided my honest feedback (4 stars was given). Binding is super easy, just clip on and go, and I’ve never popped out once. However, it requires a solid surface to click the heel twice. On pow day, it is harder to make the 2nd heel click. Step on boots are surprisingly stiff and hurt my calf and pinky toes for the first 2 times. The Boa lace comes loss too easy and I have to tight the lace after every single run. For a longer run, I often have to stop at the half way to tight up the Boa.I used to have the traditional lace, and this is my first Boa, so not sure if this is the general issue across the board. I personally prefer to have a snug fit on boot.Binding is responsive and I have no problem on green and blue runs. But I found myself struggled making the quicker turns on steeper terrains, such as double blue and black. I once caught my heel edge when I was on my toe side and in the middle of transition to heel side. This has never happened to me before. For me, I have no problem bending down and strap in, and I stand up to do so. Since my body is learned the traditional strap in and muscle memory are used to it. I switched back to straps. I think this would be great for someone who is new, you can learn and grow on step on. Or someone who has issues bending and straps.”To add on, I noticed when I stepped on, and try to turn the board, the back of the binding comes up first (I have it forward lean setting at F4), then the board starts to twist. Maybe that’s the “delay”. Yes, I returned those, and went back to the traditional way. I prefer to have better control over convenience. Burton has great products, but surprised how much filter it involves.

Although I have not been able to ride yet this season (we need snow!), I?ve ?stepped into? these bindings side-by-side with last year?s model on both my boards. Granted, this is the first year of the Genesis binding, so I can?t truly tell you how they feel in comparison in terms of flex and responsiveness. However, the updated toe cleat with tab definitely feels more smooth and fluid getting in and out. It?s definitely more refined. Having ridden standard strap-in Genesis bindings over the past few seasons (which I love), I?m excited to ride this Step On version this season. Having snowboarded for the past 25 years (and now 50 years old and knee surgery last year) I truly believe Step On technology is the future of snowboarding. In a few years they?re the ones who will be laughed at, not you.

I returned the bindings before I had the chance to take it to the mountain - the experience of clicking out of them was so infuriating there’s no way I’d ruin my time on the snow with these. Stepping in was simple enough although even on an even flat floor it took an extra fish to get the second click, that was the first red flag. But it was the clicking out that took it to the next level for me. As a goofy foot rider you have to twist your knee in the most unnatural way to get out of the binding. I kept trying and trying this way and that way hoping to get it but no it’s an awful design. Also, once I started reading other negative reviews of front clips breaking off, my mind has been made up to return.
I've gotten over 50 days now with these bindings and I can't say one bad thing about them! Clicking in and out is extremely easy. The bindings feel even more responsive than any other pair of bindings i've ever ridden. Your toes being connected directly to the bindings add a different level of response, something extremely fast and reactive to your movements. No straps mean no play or give. Powder days have become easier now! There hasn't been a time even with a 18 inch pow day that these bindings haven't been a breeze to step into. Countless of crashes in the park and the steeps and not once have I felt unsafe or close to popping out. Overall if you're looking for a pair of bindings that will work exactly as well as your previous pair with the added convenience of ... MoreI've gotten over 50 days now with these bindings and I can't say one bad thing about them! REI delivered this product smoothly, solid as always.By now, I have a a few days on this bindings and the ION boots (both purchased from REI). I have to be fair that I am still learning to get on and off the bindings. Although, I don't think I will be able to just jump on and hop off the bindings!Stepping into the bindings are easy, ONLY on a flat ground. The truth is, there is not that many flat spots on the mountain, so you have to be creative to create/find a level enough spot to complete the step-in action. This can be challenging on a double-black hill. So my advise is that: don't ever fall :)Burton brags about how EASY is it to step in. BUT it's NOT easy to step out!! After pulling the lever you better lift up your heel cleanly to disengage, then twist your foot to get out... If this whole action is not done clearly, you foot can get stuck in the binding and it becomes frustrating difficult to get off. Perhaps I still need to learn more.Step-ins can be easier to get in (Although usually not much faster than skiers); but it's much more awkward to get out from. This fact alone makes it extremely useless. Not to mention the high price tags and limited options.All-in-all, I will just using this bindings and boots. Perhaps they will earn my heart over time. We will see.
I'm in my 35th season of snowboarding and have ridden all sorts of bindings. I started out many years ago and learned in hard shells with plate bindings. Most of my friends were riding with straps and I found it clumsy and a waste of time even back then. Every time I used bindings with straps it felt uncomfortable and clumsy to me. When the Switch autolock system came out I switched to them and rode that way for a good 25 years. I've always loved the simple step in and go and loved the simplicity of the Switch system. I've finally worn out all the boots I've been able to buy over the years and since there's nothing made anymore had to upgrade to a newer system. I choose the Burton system after looking at what is out there and am totally pleased with that decision. ... MoreI'm in my 35th season of snowboarding and have ridden all sorts of bindings. I choose the Burton system after looking at what is out there and am totally pleased with that decision. I've ridden on groomers, pow, crud and everything in between and love this setup (sorry not a park guy). I paired these bindings with the Nitro compatible boot and love how comfortable the setup is. The edge to edge control is fantastic and you really do feel locked into the board with how this step in is setup. I'm now 71 years old and have no issues getting into the bindings anywhere on the mountain, the step in is super simple and easy. Getting out is a little trickier but once you do it a few times, not a big deal. I've got nothing but good vibes from this setup and it makes it super easy for me to go enjoy the sport I still love. Highly recommend these bindings!
These bindings were an upgrade on the original Step-On bindings that I've been riding for three years now. The changes are incremental and subtle but nevertheless noticeable. The footbed seems slightly stiffer over my previous bindings and the highback slightly more flexible which is the perfect combination for me. Heel side turns feel totally locked in. This season on the Genesis bindings I have been experimenting with more forward lean as well and now the toe side turn initiation feels as precise as the heel side and I'm absolutely LOVING IT.One final note. I really love the pale gray-blue color of this seasons Genesis bindings. It harmonizes perfectly with my Never Summer Harpoon board and slate gray bib pants. I get a LOT of compliments on it. A few Gumby moments in lift lines finding the release lever but once I’d done it a few times again like normal. Once or twice I’d take off unbound but find it pretty quickly on the fly. I’ve been boarding since the early 90s and seen a lot of gimmicks in snowboarding but this is the real deal. Liked the convenience but loved the response even more.
Your packaging is very good, I fell in love with itI’ve been through 3 different Step Ons from version 1.0 to the much improved current version 2.0 toe hooks. I can confirm Version 1.0 had the annoying clicking sound and the toe clips did have some wear issues but by no means ever failed on me. I contacted Burton on the toe hook wear concern and their customer support has been all but exceptional. They mailed me 2 sets of toe hook replacements that arrived within the week after a quick online chat.I got the new Reflex with 2.0 toe hooks and these are a huge improvement with the clicking sound now gone and mounting onto them is much easier. I quickly got the Genesis step ons last season and I LOVE it.
