Love the color and the quality of the boot for sure. The customer service on the other hand is what will make this purchase memorable. Bought these because I didn't like the performance of the Flows that I had previously purchased. Chat Online care turning into Red Carpet service with quick responses and great communication which got me a return in turn making this purchase. THEN visiting the Denver location while in town and had them heat molded along with insole recommendations. Super Happy with the experience.

Since there's been so little info online to compare these against the regular Photons, I got both to try them out. Haven't gotten either of them on the snow yet, but here are some initial things I noticed. The *only* difference I found was with the articulated cuff. The soft version has a neoprene joint between the upper and lower sections on the outsides only (not both sides) making the shell softer flexing. I noticed the flex difference mostly front to back and not as much difference laterally. Not convinced that's a great design choice because the flex point lands right at the top of the Snugger Strap. Seems like it would start to hang up / wear funny very quickly as the boots broke in. The heel backstay was identical between the models (Burton's own website ... The regular seems to have quite a bit of range of stiffness available with the boot Boa and Snugger Strap. Leave the Snugger relatively loose and things flex pretty well, crank it down and everything stiffens up nicely. For someone who doesn't ride Park anymore, the regulars seemed perfect for all-mountain charging. Both versions seem very solid with the new Soft model allowing for a noticeably softer flex profile if that's what you're after.Hope that helps anybody else on the fence between these two models.

So, I read a lot of reviews before I chose this boot mainly because I was intrigued by the ankle strap. I read reviews that said to order a half size larger and that they were stiff.I am a size 8 normally, and I?ve only ever wore burton boots so I already knew my size SHOULD have been an 8, however the reviews I read were right, these run a half size small. My toes are against the tip of the boot even after trying to wear them around the house for about an hour. I?m 5?6, 240lbs, and have larger calves however I still have always been able to wear my true to size 8. I havnt always been overweight but even my boots from when I was much skinnier still fit me.These boots are more than stiff, they are like trying to fit a square in a circle. It took me well over a minute just to try and wiggle my foot into the boots and it was not a comfortable process. The inner ?soft? boot has Velcro on either side of the tongue to secure the tongue in place, but these just make the boot fit oddly and honestly make a pressure point in the shin area, I couldn?t even Velcro them so it was a waste, terrible design concept with the Velcro, it?s not practical for an every day rider unless u are petite sized.I cannot express the amount of stiffness in this boot, I?ve NEVER worn a boot this stiff, it?s insane. I don?t think I can comfortably ride in these, I?m going to return for a regular burton boa step on boot.Don?t waste your money, get the normal kind of boot without the ankle strap. I honestly thought the ankle strap would make a difference, it doesn?t. Trust Me, I?ve been boarding since I was 10, I?m not 35. I?m super disappointed, I thought it would be a game changer, it?s not. These or super uncomfortable.

The Burton Felix Step On Boots are great boots if you're an intermediate-advanced rider interested in entering the Step On world. I personally don't love the limitations that come from getting invested in the Step On ecosystem. Burton only offers five step on boots for womenat this time, which likely covers most riders, but I, personally, would want a stiffer boot with Speed Zone laces and that does not exist at the time of writing this. Burton also only offers five women's Step On boots to the men's eight, and it would be great to see equal offerings in the future. Fortunately, the Felix Boots come in a regular (non Step On) model so it's a pretty moot scenario. The Felix Snowboard Boots have the traction, response, and touch of forgiveness that will appeal to all ... I have been snowboarding for almost ten years and have never tried Burton Step Ons before. The main concern I had was that the bindings were going to feel loose and be unresponsive. After testing them out, I realized I was completely wrong. The Burton Photon and the Step On bindings were very stiff and super responsive- just the way I like my set up. The step on's felt very secure and rode like normal pair of boots and bindings. I spend a couple runs doing some aggressive turns trying to put the step ons to the test, but they never budged! It was an awesome feeling being able to roll of the chairlift and just step on and go without ever stopping! I 100% recommend the Burton Step Ons. It was an awesome feeling being able to roll of the chairlift and just step on and go without ever stopping! I 100% recommend the Burton Step Ons. The Photons were my first experience with Burton Quick Pull, and I really liked them. One downside with the Quick Pull system and the Photons specifically is that there’s a lot going on and when the boot is all the way undone, with wires going everywhere. They make it easy to store the laces after the boot is done up or when you’re ready to put them away, so it’s only a problem if you’re tired/lazy and don’t put the boots away properly.
They started off very comfortable but after breaking in they developed a hard spot that pushed on my ankle bone. Cuts my day short now because of the pain. My left boot also engages completely different than my right boot. The heel will click when switching from heel to toe and upon further inspection I noticed that the boots have two complete different heel cleats. Using a straight edge there is a 3-4mm difference of where they sit on the boot and how they engage with the binding. I can’t believe this would pass QC. Very disappointed in these $400 boots..
Background, Used to snowboard as a kid n early teens many moons ago. Fast forward to me at 33yo trying to pick up snowboarding again and failing so hard my butt is paying for it, literally. I rented normal shoes last year and was pretty disgusted with myself at how many times I had to unstrap from getting stuck on greens. HELLO STEP ONS! I found myself waiting at the bottom of the hill and at the top of the mountain for my friends to strap in and I never had to sit once to get going. Even after stalling I'd quickly step out, give a lil push and step right back in. It feels no different to me than normal bindings n shoes. The insoles that came with the boots were high quality and didnt need to be replaced with custom ones since it fit so perfectly to my feet ... Tossed the thermal liner into the oven at 200degrees for 15min and after molding they fit like a glove. Highly recommended shoe!
I had worn them about 4 times for probably anywhere from 3 to 5 hours each boarding trip. They are comfortable, but seem to loosen up quite frequently after going down some slopes. I had to make sure I tightened the BOA's after every run to make them snug again. Not sure if all BOA systems are like this as these are my first pair that has them, or if I just got poor QC boots. The pant retainer clip also had snapped off one of my boots somehow. No hard use, no crazy falls or snags on anything while walking around in them. There is some noticeable wearing on the inner toes from setting the board when riding on the ski lifts.Other than that - like I had stated, they are comfortable, true to size and have kept my feet warm while riding.
+4 stars looks great, easy to put on, easy to strap, feels save, necessary flexibility-1 star because the fit of the boot does not match the size recommendation by Burton.Normally I have a 42.5, the recommendation based on Mondo was smaller. I did not follow the advice and ordered my common size 42.5. That size was way too small. Then I ordered a 43.5 based on a store recommendation even this size is a little tight in the front (when standing straight). I was playing with the thought to reorder once again a 44 but I did not because I think it is a new boot and it will be softer after couple of rides. But if you don't like that your toes touch the front a little then buy a boot +1.5 your normal size.FYI - tried the boots with “Men's Burton Performance + ... I love these boots so much! The boas and quick pull setup make tying up an easy and painless task. No fiddling with laces in the cold anymore. The insoles that come with are incredibly well built and also very supportive, plus they dry very fast!!!The boot itself is really stiff which is what I was looking for. They were comfortable the first day I took them out, and are getting more and more comfy every ride. The wide model really helped me have enough room in the front.
