The jacket has great features : warm pockets on sides, an even warmer one for the phone, ajustable hood for a ski helmet or for a rainy hiking + waterproof and windproof. I ordered in Green and the color looks absolutely gorgeous with either white or black pants. I will keep it many years hopefully. Super happy!

Been looking at these Jackets for a bit now, and I finally pulled the trigger for both my wife and my myself with the Burton Embark, and Swash. Can't say enough great things about these jackets! They look great, and the functionality of them is top notch! I highly suggest this jacket to anyone looking for a new jacket. The price point is steep but considering what you're getting backed by a great warranty these should last us a long time to come! After reading other reviews saying these run big I took a chance and bought my wife's jacket, and my own one size smaller then I normally would buy, and having bought the medium I am very pleased to say this may be the best fitting jacket I have ever owned, and my wife says the same with her Embark in the Medium.

Love this, so cute from the moment I saw it on the website and I finally splurged. Was planning on going Gortex and I feel so much better on the mountain. All I ask is that Burton takes pockets and pocket placement into consideration for womens clothing. Why do men always have more pockets? This only has 2 outside which are low enough my phone doesn't jab into my rib cage but there's a loose mesh pocket on the inside I don't trust putting anything in because it's not secure enough. Other than that, there's a wrist zipper for a pass. Women need more pockets!!!

I love Burton AK jackets. I have used Roxy, Holden, Volcom, and DC snowboarding jackets, but I keep coming back to Burton AK. I love the warmth and durability of the jacket, as well as the relaxed fit. As a full figured woman, I find the fit of the Burton jackets to still provide enough mobility for me. I think the features and waterproofing of the jacket are some of the best in the industry, and the price is reflective of that. My Burton jackets last me for years with 20-30 days per season, and I am sure the Embark jacket will do so as well. And also, yay for thumbholes on the wrist gaiters!
I got this jacket to replace a north face that was getting beat up. The biggest complaint I have are the zippers. Don't know if mine are defective, but I struggle with zipping them up without gloves. It is a total pain on the mountain and I will probably replace those. I also worry about the fabric and how durable it will hold up for me long term but so far it has been good. It is waterproof and a great shell. I've used it for one tour and some snowy days at the resort. I like my jackets baggy so I ordered an extra size up but I probably didn't need to. These jackets are actually made long enough to prevent your butt from getting wet which I love. Overall awesome jacket and I'm happy with my purchase.
I loved the quality of the jacket, and I feel the price I paid was a good deal. However, and this could just be me because other reviews I read didn’t seem to have this issue, but I think the size of the jacket runs a little big. I went off the size chart dimensions and still felt the jacket, especially the arms were longer than comfortable. Even while wearing my mid-layer, it was wider than expected. So I will be reordering a smaller size.
Great jacket! It seems a lot of snowboard jackets aren't lined these days so I was on the hunt for one that I liked the look of that still had insulation. Plus it needed to be waterproof and block the wind well. This covers all of those needs. Not sure how I feel about the wrist cuff liner that prevents snow from coming in only because I still layer underneath. I may get used to it after some wear. Great fit, went with my true to size and still have room to later without looking huge.
Love the Embark GORE TEX Jacket. It has all the features of the features you could ever want in a jacket, plus a little warmth. One thing is for certain even after hiking in the backcountry you stay warm by not overheated. Primaloft is the perfect insulation in any environment even on bluebird days. Hands done the best of both worlds with this Jacket. I have used the shells but this jacket takes the guesswork out of layering. Just a mid base layer and you are set. Ride with a smile 😊 not a frown 🙁. Get the Embark and ride the stoke...
I bought the Faded Jade color and the color is super cute in person. For reference, I wear a S/M in tops (5'7 130lbs). I ordered an XL. It's long enough to cover my butt, but a little long in the arms. It's roomy enough without feeling/looking bulky. There's only one pocket inside-the mesh one that doesn't close/zip. And there's three front pockets and one arm pocket. 5 pockets total. The breast pocket and arm pocket are lined w fabric similar to running jackets. The two hip pockets are the more fleece kinda feeling fabric... it just feels different to me, so I wish all the pockets had matching lining, but I know this is more a dislike bc of preference and not the quality of the jacket.
I'm giving it 3 star solely because of the fit of the jacket is HUGE. I purchased this jacket model 15 years ago and LOVED it. I still have that jacket but sadly it has a rip in it and for the past 7 years I've been trying to replace it with the new model but the XS is GIGANTIC! I don't know why they changed the specs so much, it was perfect before and now the arms are wide and long, the body is VERY wide. Such a disappointment. Burton women's specs are terrible these days.Regarding quality and warmth, nothing beats this jacket!
