I had a Kings compressor that died so bought this as a replacement. Comparatively it's a lot quieter and pumps tyres up a lot quicker. The digital guage and trigger inflator really do the trick. It's smaller and has the option to mount it within the car, which I'll likely do.

Top unit and my research worked. Easy to use and gauge accurate as tested on van and car. Plenty lead to move around car and van easily. Hooks up easy to car or van outlets. Fairly quiet as well. Good buy for me and family. Makes one check air levels more often and that is a major plus. Get one from this mob and you will be pleased.

I have been using the next model down Bushranger for a few years now. Faultless. The MaxAir 3 is quicker, I think quieter but what really seals the deal with this is from the compressor out. The hose, quick connect fittings, the trigger, the pressure gauge and the integral load/unload pressure switch takes this a long way ahead. It is truly useful and easy to use. I have it strapped down in the back and connect it to a Hard Korr battery box with a 100Ah LiFePO4 fitted. I fitted an Anderson plug (50A) to the compressor. Hope it doesn’t void my warranty. When I come off the beach I just take the hose out on back door for one side and then the same for the other. Couldn’t be easier. Don’t have to go back to the compressor to turn off, the pressure switch takes care of that. I just move from tyre to tyre. Inflation of all four is about 4 minutes quicker than the old one. Tyres are 265/60/18. I run them at 18psi on the beach and 36 on the road.

I have used this compressor for over 12 months. It does the job about as well as any other brands in our 4WD club. However the locking lever on the air gun was always faulty and finally became impossible to flip over to lock. I recently contacted Bushranger (Kingsley Enterprises) directly and they've just supplied a replacement new gun assembly free of charge. I just need to change over the gauge. But the excellent service by Bushranger is much appreciated.
After some thorough research purchased the Air Max 3 from Snowy’s. Quick delivery to WA ready for our trip to Coral Bay. Used it for two 4x4’s after several days of Sandy adventures. Was relatively quick. The air gun and gauge (surprisingly accurate) makes it easy to de/re-inflate tyres to a set pressure. Solid product that I would recommend.
I saw awesome reviews on this one and I was due for an upgrade. For a little compressor it goes very well and I’m super impressed. Digital gauge on it seems to be maybe 4-5psi out on mine so I don’t know if I can calibrate it somehow but if not I’ll work with it and learn to work with it which I’m fine with, it’s way more accurate and easier to use with the trigger handle than the regular analogue gauges without the trigger have been.Only thing I didn’t like was there wasn’t a drain valve but I plan to plumb it into a small tank that I can chuck a drain into anyway so no biggie.I spoke to bushranger and you can hardwire it and it won’t void warranty, as long as it’s not the point of failure if something happens.Highly recommend.
The quality of this compressor is readily apparent when compared to cheaper (not really that much cheaper) no-name compressors. The five year warranty and reputation for longevity also add to the value for money that this unit represents. The hose, hose fittings and the included air chuck with digital air gauge are also solid and of a good quality finish. Having an integrated pressure switch is a feature that is a welcome upgrade on the Black Max model. The compressor also comes with two spare air filters and extra mounting nuts and bolts. Topping the list of nice to have items is the bag , which feels robust and well made. All up, you could buy a compressor with many of these features for a (very) few dollars less from a supplier specialising in low cost, made in ... MoreThe quality of this compressor is readily apparent when compared to cheaper (not really that much cheaper) no-name compressors. Topping the list of nice to have items is the bag , which feels robust and well made. All up, you could buy a compressor with many of these features for a (very) few dollars less from a supplier specialising in low cost, made in China equipment - but it would only have a 12 month warranty and possibly have to be replaced much sooner. As usual, Snowys was great to buy from. The price was excellent and the compressor arrived amazingly quickly - ordered on the weekend and it arrived on Tuesday afternoon.
Very high quality built compressor.Thick sturdy zips on the bag.We had an XTM Dual cyl compressor but have swapped to this single Max Air 3.The XTM was quicker, but only by about 30 secs per tyre. The gauge actually works and is accurate unlike most of the cheaper ones. The build quality far outweighs the 'cheaper generic twin models'.Highly recommend.
I have owned bushranger compressors for about 7 years now. My first was a blackmax and has had no trouble inflating my 37" tyres for the past 7 years and far quicker than all my mates who use different brands and use smaller tyres.I bought a cheap compressor from another company for my wifes car and after one use gave it away. The conections on the bushranger gear are far superior than anything else ive used and do not struggle even after infalting 4x 37" tyres from 10psi to 40psi.I have now bought the maxair 3 for my wifes car and my black max is still going strong without a single issue for 7 years. I wont buy anything else, even the carry bag is of exceptional quality.
This compressor works very well, pumps up tires quickly enough and easy to operate once assembled. Good for pumping and deflating with inbuilt pressure gauge. My only gripe would be the slightly short cable or hose when also trying to inflate caravan tires - need two people to do this for our 19’ double axle van to be able to get maximum stretch on hose without disconnecting battery clips. But I would still buy it again any day
