I loveee this perfume! It has gotten quite expensive but I would never stop purchasing this product there is just nothing similar to it. It definitely smells very clean like it says and it just smells like you had a fresh shower and clean laundry! It also has floral hints which I love. I have bought this perfume 3 times and the bottle actually lasts very long (2 years ). This is one of the few expensive products that I find completely worth it and keep repurchasing. Everyone compliments this scent and asks about it :) I have tried many perfumes and this one is consistently my favourite.

Gypsy Water opens with a glaze of lemon tinged juniper and pine, almost like that of Lemon Pledge, but with a sweeter vanilla finish which takes it from Lemon Pledge to more of a lemon custard. After a short time, the perfume begins to soften and them lemon becomes light and tart and slightly sour with addition of a quiet incense and wood. I was expecting Gypsy Water to be a lively and phrenetic fragrance, but instead, it’s rather subdued and unassuming. After around 20 minutes, the pine, amber and sandalwood come together to provide for a creamy, but lightly incensed powdered warmth. In the end, Gypsy Water is a lightly warmed quiet woody perfume, that although unassuming, is rather mysterious.

About two years ago I took a trip to London and on the flight there, the flight attendant had this beautiful scent on that immediately grabbed my attention. I don’t know what has happened to my skin but recently I haven’t been able to wear a fragrance and still be able to smell and feel comforted by the scent only a short time after I wear it. This is my cold-weather go-to! The perfume counter girl helped me narrow it by closing my eyes to smell which Byredo perfume I liked better. I've been using this since spring, and I think I'll continue to use it throughout the summer. I think it can be used year-round if it is not too heavy. I use it both day and night. I won't describe the notes. The details are all online. I’m typically a woodsy fresh, scent kind of gal, so this was a significant change to try something floral. It's not too sweet, either.
This fragrance was such a disappointment. I am a huge fragrance fan and enjoy discovering new ones and wearing them. I heard a lot about this one and wanted to try it in my local Nordstrom store. I liked the scent and bought it on a whim. It was expensive but I thought it was worth it since it was eau de parfum and not toilette. What a mistake! This fragrance doesn't have any staying or projection power. Just like water. I rarely regret buying a fragrance but Gypsy water was my biggest let down and in retrospect I wish I practiced more self control in buying it. This is such a hype, don't buy into it.
Really love this fragrance. It is light, mossy and slightly woody and smells quite unisex. I think it would be perfect for a summer fragrance that isn’t citrus or floral. Fragrance is quite personal but I loved it so much and was looking for something lighter so would have bought one immediately after the sample. The only reason I haven’t is that it doesn’t last on my skin at all. I’ve read some of the other reviews saying it has been really long lasting for them so maybe it’s just chemistry :( . I’d used the sample over a few days but as it’s gone on me within 20 mins I’m unsure about taking a chance on a big one. Really love the fragrance though. Smells modern and expensive.
Byredo's G Water is my signature scent. It is one you can wear to work and no one will smell you unless they are very close. That's the way I like it because in general I do things for me and don't want to intrude on their space. I wear perfume for me. If I want someone to smell me I will bring them close to me. Otherwise, I don't want to smell your banger cologne either.The longevity on this perfume is poor. It doesn't matter if you apply half a bottle. It's going to be gone soon. I apply frequently and get an uplift by smelling it on my wrists. It's very calming scent. It's a good alternative for or a great addition to taking sedatives.I do think that the G word has become or always was an ethnic slur. Certainly in its verb form it is, but that's just me. And ... I typically purchase very “clean” scents. (Dylan Blue by Versace or Freedom-Spirit) I wanted something different but still wanted to stay clear of musky or heavy woodsy scents. I had read reviews about Gypsy Water and most described it as a “unique” scent. It is a unisex way de parfumerie. So, I threw the dice and purchased a bottle. It is unique. The best way is a little woodsy, fresh with just a hint of spice. Scents smell different on everyone, so this just my experience. I do get many, many compliments on it.
This is a really nice perfume - very light and fresh scent which is not overpowering and will suit everyone. It reminds me of lemon desserts in a summery nice way.however....It doesn't last long (on me it lasts about 5-10 minutes). If you don't mind reapplying and staying power isn't a major concern for you, I say give it a go, as it is very wearable and nice... but if you want something to spray before work and walk out the door with assurance it will stay on, you will be disappointed. It's not cheap either and there are a lot of other perfumes with a better price tag. I do recommend this if you have the money, especially for the warmer months. Just dont expect it to last.
