Wow. Firstly, thank you to the two reviewers who said this wasn't a sweet/sickly vanilla and that it had good throw - you encouraged me to buy this and are both totally right. It's so nice to have a vanilla that doesn't smell like cheap, generic body spray. It's a woody/smoky/incensy vanilla with a touch of rum. Very smooth and complex. I don't personally smell the geranium or rosemary, but I've only burnt it once so far. It burnt extremely well, very even and the smell filled my room even though it's a smaller candle. The candle itself is beautiful in all black. I usually buy diptyque candles but this was a couple of pounds cheaper so I decided to try it out. I'm very impressed and will definitely be buying more candles from Byredo!

I am a big candle fan and I must say this is my favourite candle ever. If you like cosy, woody scents this is for you. It reminds me of camping or staying in a cabin. Wearing jumpers and toasting marshmallows. The scent is very nostalgic to me. I think it's a unisex scent and would be a perfect housewarming gift for a couple. Even though it is very expensive it is worth the money....the scent, the heavy glass jar, the black wax....it's very luxurious without being shouty. Mine has just run out and I'll have to repurchase as I can't be without it!

Love, love, love this candle. I am on my 5th jar of this candle. I feel that it should be called, "Byredo's version of a Christmas scent". It is a spicy, woody scent, with notes of ginger, cinnamon and cardamon, while the violet notes and tea leaves, make for a really interesting scent. I think this is Byredo's trademark to make unique and subtle scents - excluding Biblioteque and Safran which are stunning but much stronger. Scents that are mysterious, surprising and beautiful. When I want a stronger scent I will go to Diptyque and Cire Trudon which have been my favourites for many years, but then when I want something different and more subtle I always turn to Byredo. If you like Chai, you might also like Byredo's Symphonique candle.
Pathetically heartbroken at the senseless discontinuation of the room spray. I love the bibliotheque room spray. I always spray it before I work and I associate it with study or deep concentration work. It’s been discontinued so I purchased the candle. It’s just not even a bit as good. You can’t smell much and I am sad. I wish they would reconsider. I love the scent, I wish I had purchased 10 bottles.
This is my second candle from Byredo. I wasn’t sure what the expect from this scent, but it’s very different to what I had imagined a candle named after a library would smell like. The sharp fruity notes of peach and plumb blend very well with the violet, alongside the not-sweet vanilla and musty patchouli. Smells amazing and fills the room when lit. I do even get whiffs of it when it’s not lit, which is great for a smaller candle. Love the all black design. Burns extremely evenly - I don’t think any other candle brand burns as well as these do. Very impressed!
I really like the smaller versions of the byredo candles so I can try new scents. I can see why it is so popular, the throw is amazing, even when it isn't lit it smells strong. Perfect winter candle, I get all the notes, the smokiness, peach/plum, vanilla etc. It reminds me of feu de bois by diptyque but better due to the fruity/vanilla notes. I wouldn't repurchase because I don't like smoky scents but would recommend it to others.
