Using the Calibrite ColorChecker Passport Photo 2 does give a better color profile for the light conditions and the camera and lens being used.I am pleased with the results that I am getting. The color is natural looking and not over saturated.

White points and color targets work well. The software makes a profile not a preset which is great because colors are adjusted without moving any sliders in Lightroom/ ACR. The one I received had the word Video stamped into the black frame. I wanted the colorchecker for still photograph so this concerned me. Calibrite assured me I had the correct targets but they could not explain the Video stamp. They are investigating but today it's still a mystery.

I took shots in studio lights, room lights, Bright sun, Shade and mottled sunlight. For the interior shots it worked very well in creating a custom camera calibration (Nikon D850) for use in Lightroom. First trial in outdoor lighting didn't do as well. A fellow seasoned photographer said the exposure must be spot-on in order to get the best results. I reshot, using an incident meter and set the camera accordingly. That worked very well.

Functions as described, great tool for getting color right!I'm docking it one star due to the overkill rigidity of the hinge ... this thing really pops and bends when closing it. Apparently this is normal, but I am leery the hinge will break at some point.
Got this from a photographer's recommendation on YouTube. It's simple to use and it definitely works to get your color right in any application. I just have to remember to use it when I'm taking images. and then in editing. You can definitely see the difference. It's easy to carry and will last forever. It has improved my results!
I've used the Color Checker Classic for years, and I decided to give this one a try. Obviously, it's much easier to haul around. The one thing I don't like about it is the case. I feel like I'm going to break it every time I open it. Does anyone else have this problem with their case?
Caution: As far as I can tell, Lightroom CC cannot use the profile creation plug-in. Only LR Classic supports plug-ins. For me, that capability was the main justification for the price of this product. Sounds really great, wish I could use it.
I use this as a matter of course for pretty much every shoot. The color clarity is so much better than using any of the default Adobe or camera-matching profiles. I only shoot raw so can't comment on any kind of JPEG workflow [you need to shoot the targets raw anyhow].I use an Expodisc for WB so can't comment on it's usefulness for in-the-field WB, though the skin and scenery WB patches are very good for post-processing refinements.I recommend this to everyone I know who is making the leap from cameraphone to digital camera.
As a colorblind photographer, I purchased this to help with the accuracy of skin tones in my portrait work. The ColorChecker does make a noticeable difference in accuracy even to my eyes, and gives me greater confidence in color grading than my eyes alone can. From a quick test shooting with a Nikon D500 and the default color profile, after setting up the color profile in Capture One, I noticed that color contrast is significantly improved, but contrast overall is lower since there is more nuance in the blacks and shadows (even compared to what is actually visible). I'll need to play around with it more to reach a point where I feel there's a happy balance between color accuracy and appropriate overall contrast and accuracy in shadows. As other reviews have mentioned for previous versions of this product, instructions for using it required a bit of Googling, but following a video tutorial was simple enough.
Works great for white balance and profile. In lots of other reviews is mentioned very tight and squeaky hinges.Fixed this issue by applying just a bit of candle wax. (soaked cotton swab in hot was and applied to friction surface.) Open -close few times and then remove any excess wax to avoid patches contamination. But it's quite disappointing that customer has make such fixes in quite expensive professional product.
