I bought the 2-liter version of this [brand:camelbak] in black. They go up to 3.5-liters, I believe. I love how narrow the backpack is for my small back (female, 5'5", 115 lbs) while still being able to carry everything I need for a day hike (first aid kit, battery backup, phone, keys, snacks, flash blanket, and obviously the water pack). The water insulation area is separate from the second compartment area which keeps my other items safe from condensation too. My only quibble is the bottom is weak. I had to stitch in canvas reinforcement, but that has held for over a year through multiple hikes every month. Highly recommended if you're a frequent day hiker or just a traveler looking for a cold water hydration backpack that isn't too bulky. I love going hiking and not having to bring a water bottle with me. I love having one strapped to me so my hands can be free for adventure. Camelbacks are truly the best addition to my adventures. It has extra storage for my snacks and phone as well has carries a lot of water in case I'm working too hard going up that hill.

The CamelBak Cloud Walker 18 is described as a "simple, classic daypack perfect for hikes and less technical adventures." After testing, we agree with CamelBak's description. The pack's relatively substantial volume is great for carrying extra layers, books, snacks, and water to get you through the day, wherever that may take you. Fine for moderate adventures, this pack isn't extremely technical, but if you're looking for a versatile hydration pack that makes a great all-around backpack,

I had one of these many years ago, and wore it out. I re-purchased another this summer, so I could walk and hike longer without having to carry a heavy water bottle. I absolutely love the camel pack, and once you get down how to fill it and how to properly dry it, it’s a great product. The only thing I don’t like is how hard it is to disconnect the hose. By this time there should be some improvements over what I had 10 years ago, but I just don’t see it. I will continue to purchase as I wear them out, as all in all, it’s a wonderful product for hydration during longer periods outdoors.

Hiking, boating, riding, anything that takes you outside that you should have water for… the Camelback is just so much better than carrying a bottle. Once you’ve hiked with one you’ll never go back to carrying a bottle. Possibly even better for kayaking, because you keep your hands free to paddle and can’t drop anything in the water. Hands free is the way to be.

Cloud Walker is RIGHT! Incredibly well-balanced
20 April 2022

I bought this to replace an old Camelbak that I've been using for the last 6 years, and I've got to say, Cloud Walker is an incredibly accurate product name. I walked around with 3L of water all day at Coachella for 3 days straight, averaging around 12mi per day AND dancing around with no issues. This backpack is incredibly well-balanced and distributes the weight of the water / items in the bag incredibly well. I felt no pressure or soreness on my traps or shoulders whatsoever at the end of the day / weekend! In fact, I kept having to check the water bladder to make sure there was still water in the bag because I couldn't feel the weight of it.I would highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a high-capacity, low-stress Camelbak.

Great for day hikes!
12 June 2023

Purchased this to hike in Zion National Park. Our longest hike was 8 miles and I never felt like I was going to run out of water. Filled this up completely and still had room for some snacks, other hiking necessities (headlamps, first aid kit, snacks) and room to roll up my jacket when it got too warm. Definitely recommend it!

Great in many ways, but straps could be better.
10 May 2022

The bag is nice, it is great for our day trips or just for quick walks around our lake/local communities, and I love that it has the side pockets for bottles or other items. I have not used it for any long hikes yet, so have been using it without the water pouch, but I'm sure that will work just fine knowing camelback water packs. The reason I give this a 4 star rating instead of 5 has more to do with the feel of the pack while wearing it. It could use better straps with more support and cushioning, though they are by far not the worst straps out there, just could be a bit better. I also find it leads my back feeling a bit sore even with a pretty light load, I am continuing to try different strap lengths to try to get around this and hope this is user error more ... MoreThe bag is nice, it is great for our day trips or just for quick walks around our lake/local communities, and I love that it has the side pockets for bottles or other items. This might also be something that would improve with including the water pouch inside the pack, but that will be an experiment for another day. My rating does not take this into account since I still have faith in the pack, I just knocked it a star for not having better straps, I would love to see camelback up its strap game on their packs as this has seemed to me to be a fairly common thing when I've looked at their packs.

Not so great

The title for this product is wrong: it is a 2.5 liter pack, not 3 liters.Cons:The pack could easily hold a 3 liter reservoir. Why did they use 2.5 liter? When the 2.5 liter reservoir is filled, it becomes very "thick" and spherical. What happened to the style of reservoir that has a "tuck" down the middle to keep the shape flatter? The drinking hose is too short. Camelbak offered to send a reservoir with a longer hose.It is very difficult to push the hose into the clamp on the shoulder strap. Very difficult. I often don't bother and let it dangle. Dumb.Twice I asked Camelbak via email if there is a way to move the hose clamp to a lower position on the shoulder strap but no answer. I figured out how to do it but it's not that easy. There are no small ... MoreThe title for this product is wrong: it is a 2.5 liter pack, not 3 liters.Cons:The pack could easily hold a 3 liter reservoir. I figured out how to do it but it's not that easy. There are no small pockets or compartments inside the pack. The smallest pocket (located at the top of the pack) is the only place to store smaller items unless you put them in one of the external mesh pockets. No good place for car keys, wallet, energy bars, multi-tool, sunglasses, lip balm, cell phone, etc. If you put these things in the top pocket everything get jumbled up together.I like light colored packs because they keep the contents a bit cooler (for years I've used a yellow Camelbak). Both color choices are very dark. Forget taking energy bars with chocolate (melts in the first 30 min) unless maybe you bury them inside the pack.Pros:Well made. But the materials are light weight so I don't expect it to be as bombproof as my older Camelbaks.

i like this bag! it’s a little stiff to start but after a couple wears it’s gotten more comfy on my back. I wanted a good sized camelbak to bring on day hikes and i was torn between this and the Mule and i’m glad i got the Cloud Walker! i compared it to my partners Camelbak Mule and it is almost the exact same size, the Cloud Waker extends out more to fit more stuff but the footprint is almost identical if that makes sense.a few things that make it 4/5:- it comes with a 2.5L reservoir instead of 3L but the side pockets make it super easy to carry extra water and a 3L reservoir will fit inside if you have an extra one.- be careful with closing the reservoir. there’s something weird about the seal that makes it super finicky to close properly. this hasn’t been ... Morei like this bag! it’s a little stiff to start but after a couple wears it’s gotten more comfy on my back.
