WELL, there is plenty to rant and rave about with this camera. But I'll start with although I have some hi-end professional camera's, as it relates to what I call a professional what I call a bridge between everyday use camera's and professional this Canon knocks it out of the park. The fit, feel weight of the camera is comfortable to hold, although I always use the wrist strap on every camera, this shape and feel fits nicely and not like others I have that just always feel like they will slip from my hands. The ease of use when clicked in (Auto) mode is right on point, flash activates as needed, the focus time extremely fast so even action photos of the grandkids playing in the yard came out crystal clear. This camera fits the criteria at least for me as being a 1-hand shoot ability camera, its that's even a word. HOWEVER, i need to say when it 1/2 to full telephoto mode that changes the weight transfer of this camera so to get a quality shot kind of becomes a 2-hand shooting camera. Con's; Although this camera hits all the spots for me, fair to say there are two area's that would make it perfect for all occasions. I miss the view finder on a camera like this, although the 3" screen is massive for a camera this size and is clear, being a camera buff of sorts I still enjoy a view finder under certain conditions. Last fault or could be for some, the lens motor in a super quite condition is noticeable. NOT terrible but can defiantly hear it.

Do not order from this company. Although the camera was not inexpensive, I believe I received a re-furnished or retuned camera. It came in a box with parts wrapped in bubble wrap only, and was not in original packaging. The camera did not have the owners manual or any of the paperwork. When I emailed the company (two times), they refused to reply to me. There is no way to get in contact with them. Yes, there is a number on Walmart web site to contact them, but they will not answer the phone, This is not a reputable company I am very disappointed. I’m trying to warn you to buy your camera elsewhere.

I like Canon cameras, I have two Rebel EOS cameras now with multiple lenses. The PowerShot SX420 is very different from those Canons. This is a very light and compact camera which will fit in most places easily such as briefcases, purses, pockets or your camera bag. The zoom lens is an amazing 1008 MM lens which offers closeups of distant objects which is perfect if you want to leave behind the heavy telephoto lenses most of us have to carry around. This camera does have a few down sides however. The monitor is difficult to use in bright sunlight (which is not that atypical with other cameras as well), the batteries are only good for 200 shots before you would have to recharge, the flash has to be manually set (which is really no big deal as long as you remember to ... MoreI like Canon cameras, I have two Rebel EOS cameras now with multiple lenses. However the benefits far outweigh these little problems. I am impressed with this camera and will most likely use it as a replacement to the full size Rebel EOS cameras I have relied on in the past. Ps this comes with a very detailed users manual. Also remember to get one or two additional batteries.
