The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is a highly reliable telephoto zoom lens renowned for its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture and effective optical image stabilization. The wide maximum aperture provides greater control over depth of field and excels in low-light shooting, while the Image Stabilizer compensates for up to four stops of camera shake, resulting in sharper handheld images. This L-series lens boasts a sophisticated optical design, incorporating five ultra-low dispersion elements and one fluorite element to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations, resulting in improved clarity. Furthermore, a Super Spectra coating has been applied to reduce lens flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and color accuracy. In addition to its optical prowess, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM features a ring-type USM and internal focusing mechanism, enabling fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance with the convenience of full-time manual focus override. The lens is also weather-sealed, allowing it to be used in challenging environmental conditions, and it comes with a removable rotating tripod collar, providing stability when mounted on a tripod or monopod.

For a long time I was hesitant of buying this lens due to its price and size and despite the good reviews I always pulled back out of every deal at the last minute. I regret now not having bought it before. Yes, it's a bit heavy but what a solid warhorse, this piece of glass is nothing but a masterpiece. I'm amazed with the sharpness, quick focusing, and build of it, I simply love it. I got it mounted to my Canon 5D M4 and my, oh my.....now we're cooking with gas :)

I own serveral Canon SLR bodies. I love the platform and all the cool lenses that are available. My tow "goto" lenses are the Caonon EF 24-105MM USM L IS and the Canon EF 70-200MM USM L IS F2.8. Both are excellent lenses and can do justs about everything you need to do Photographically. The 70-200 is a great telephoto lens but also does a great job for portriats and closeups. I am thrilled to have the Canon 70-200 F2.8 to add to my lens compliment.

Fantastic lens. The only way to go coupled with a Canon body. Tried other manufacturers lenses and there is no comparison for auto focus speed and sharpness, especially when shooting sports. Other than the 64 GB card the rest of the bundle is nothing to get excited about. I guess you could give the backpack to your kids to carry their lunch in and carry the monopod with you when you're jogging to swat away pesky poodles.

The lens is great and exactly as described. A little heavy for me (woman) but still i can handle it. I took the last shot of moon by hand and it's steady and reasonbally clear. The images I took for my son are very sharp. I used to only use the fixed focal length lenses and this one has the equal image quality as the fixed ones. Very satisfied.
Very heavy lens. More than I'm used to. Depth of field is nice on this unit. It was touted by Canon as a great low light performer. I haven't seen evidence of that yet, however I am working with a Canon T3i so that may have something to do with it. Disappointed with the loss of zoom as compared to my old telephoto lens BUT, did some portraits with this lens and already see a distinct difference. Overall, nice lens to add to the arsenal.
This lens is awesome. The lens is incredibly sharp, even at a 1:1 crop. The natural contrast and saturation of this lens is great, leading to beautiful images even without editing. The autofocus is blazing quick and perfectly accurate. The only thing is, this lens is very heavy, but the constant 2.8 apeture is worth it.
This lens is one of the sharpest zooms in its class, and in combination with its autofocus, one of the best performing zooms of all. It is often said that a 70-200 is one of the best lenses for any photographer to have, and after spending some time with this lens, you will understand why. Pair it with a teleconverter, and you will have yourself a competent birding lens. By itself, a lens well-suited for action, head shots, etc. This lens is also quite rugged - lots of metal involved here. That, in combination with all the glass (you have to get that sharpness somehow) does add up weight-wise, but the end results is well worth it. This is a lens that I feel comfortable shooting by hand all day long.
This is a fantastic piece of equipment and well worth the cost of the upgrade from the first version. A quick test of the lens I find it is very sensitive to a wide variety of lighting situations, the AF is very fast (I upgraded from the 4L so it may be natural to notice this) and the build quality is 10/10. When purchasers or users say that this is a heavy lens they were/are not kidding. I haven't looked at the weight difference, but if you think that the version 1 is heavy think twice about upgrading. Seller delivered in a timely fashion. The box was the packed the best of anything I have ever purchased online ever. Bravo! As you just read the lens is in what the industry calls A++ condition. I highly recommend purchasing from this seller.
This will be my go-to lens when I need telephoto and have a difficult lighting situation. Have already taken a few concert photos that fell in this category, low light and motion. While heavy, I set aside the tripod and used it hand-held. This is the most expensive lens I own and is a real piece of craftsmanship.
I picked mine up well used, but not abused. After tightening some screws, the thing is flawless. 200mm at f/2.8 is very nice, and the thing is built like a tank. Using an Extender with it is generally pointless, but it works. I love the lens and it's gotten me many shots my slower lenses just wouldn't.
