The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is a highly reliable telephoto zoom lens renowned for its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture and effective optical image stabilization. The wide maximum aperture provides greater control over depth of field and excels in low-light shooting, while the Image Stabilizer compensates for up to four stops of camera shake, resulting in sharper handheld images. This L-series lens boasts a sophisticated optical design, incorporating five ultra-low dispersion elements and one fluorite element to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations, resulting in improved clarity. Furthermore, a Super Spectra coating has been applied to reduce lens flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and color accuracy. In addition to its optical prowess, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM features a ring-type USM and internal focusing mechanism, enabling fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance with the convenience of full-time manual focus override. The lens is also weather-sealed, allowing it to be used in challenging environmental conditions, and it comes with a removable rotating tripod collar, providing stability when mounted on a tripod or monopod.

The capabilities of this lens are truly astronomical. This is a product where I believe that even if you were not the best photographer, it will automatically give you a stronger sense of professionalism. The quality of my photography has tremendously improved with the ability of the 2.8 Aperture. This is a top-tier portrait style type if lense.

Lens rented was a Canon70-200 mm. The quality of the image was very impressive. The customer service of the company was extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. The shipping and packaging of the lens was very protective and punctual. I highly recommend this company to my friends and family and any other content creators out there like myself. I rented this lens for a second angle for one of my cameras at a high caliber wedding, and I cannot begin to brag about the image quality that this lens has provided for me. I would definitely consider renting from this company in the future.

Excellent Ebayer . Item seems really good as described, if not better. Not had real chance to try yet. Well wrapped and protected Thanks
I have been shooting my daughter’s gymnastics meets in poorly lit venues for the last two years with my cheap kit lense and decided to try a faster lense to help with the lighting. I am happy with the results and will probablly rent this lense at least once a year to get some nicer sharper images. This lense allowed me to set iso lower and shutter a lot faster and still get useable images. The bokeh that this lense produces also helped my subject pop out more. Also the lensrental platform is pretty cool and easy to use and a decent price (cheaper than renting from my local camera shops in Miami, FL).
I had an assignment to shoot some wild Burmese chickens that were VERY skittish and would fly away whenever anyone got within 30-40 yards from them. This lens allowed me to get great closeup shots from a distance. I used it on both my Black Magic 6K and my Panasonic EVA1 video cameras (Neither of these cameras have auto-focus capabilities). Not being used to using a lens of this size, I sometimes found it difficult to nail proper focus, even with focus assist on. This is not the lens’ fault, but rather my inexperience with using a large lens on small subjects far away and moving fast. Upon reviewing the footage I captured in post, I was VERY pleased with the footage I did manage to capture in focus. Everything looked spectacular with a great depth of field. If, like ... If, like me, you’re only used to using standard-sized lenses for your projects, I’d recommend a little practice if using this lens for sports or capturing fast-moving objects. Once I got the hang of ir, I was very pleased with it.
For event work this is essentially the go to long lens. Sharpness is good and focus is fast. For landscapes this a little better at long end and at 70mm the edges can be a bit better on 50mp cameras. The situation is essentially the reverse of the f4 version, except the difference is perhaps less noticeable on f4 one. That's 50mp where very few lenses resolve even close to that resolution. This lens absolutely doesn't tolerate cheap filters, which completely destroy sharpness. Premium filters are ok. Finally, if I ever got r system camera, I would not consider the RF equivalent because of plastic materials and extending design.
I've been renting from Lensrentals for over 10 years and they are the ONLY place I trust for renting any type of gear. Shipping is great. Gear is great. Communication is fast and friendly. I've turned so many people on to Lensrentals over the years and they end up just as satisfied as me. Plus shipping back your gear is easy peasy lemon squeezy!!
The Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8 L IS III lens is optically superb at all focal lengths. The version III EF build quality is excellent, with a weather-resistant design that helps to protect the lens from dust and moisture. Version III adds new fluorine-coated front and rear lens elements which improve durability and ease of lens cleaning. The 23 elements in19 groups are made of high-grade glass with one fluorite element and five ultra-low dispersion glass elements to substantially reduce flaring and improve contrast over versions I and II. Optically the version II and III are the same basic lens design. Auto focusing is quite fast on my R5 and useable with my extenders. I considered buying the new RF model but using lens extenders was important to me for mid range wildlife telephoto photography. The RF version does not accept EF lens. If the weight and size of the EF 2.8 III doesn't bother you, then it's is a very proven and durable work horse. The new RF version of the lens is what I would buy if I were a professional shooting with the lens day in and day out. I'm hobbyist and don't mind the length of this lens. I do recommend the version 3 EF 2.8 and do own it.
I shot professionally for a few years, mainly portraits, action, modelling, motor-racing. I had most of the EF lenses on a full frame body. When I stopped shooting professionally I sold all my lenses apart from the 135mm f/2 I just couldn't bear to part with & a 24-105 f/4. I now use mainly a tiny panasonic half frame body (lumix gm5) and 75mm f/1.8. The lens I miss most is the 70-200 f/2.8 IS. Downsides BIG, HEAVY and WHITE - people duck & cower when you point it at them which isn't great for candids, even performing artists look at you in terror which isn't always what you're after. That's why the 135 f2 made the cut. Not as offputting as a 300mm f/2.8 I used for a while though, that had to go, incredible images but EVERYBODY stares at you , not just your subject. ... Exhibitionists and show-offs love it though, brings out big beaming grins. But oh how I miss the lovely melting background and natural colours, it just seemed to bring out the best in everybody's face , skin tones just perfect , and the zoom made cropping a breeze. Not sure I'd bother paying more for a mk2 , this one's plenty sharp enough unless you're using it as a junior 300mm with extenders all the time. Probably the best portrait lens I've ever used and utterly dependable. I want another. When you look atyour photos back at base you'll forget how heavy it was.
