Genuine canon lens for my M50. A step up from the 22mm I already have. A short but very usable zoom range, particularly for Portraiture or macro. Close focus capability, with edge to edge sharpness. Not in the same class as a Canon prime lens used via an adapter, but then I'm not having to pay the best part of 2k such as my canon 100 - 400 IS zoom. So for the size, weight and price of this lens, you really can't beat it.

Using this lens on the M6, the corner sharpness is terrible. I sent it in for repair and that made no difference. You need to stop down to f11 to sharpen the corners. This is an embarassement of a lens for Canon. Other three EF-M lenses that I own are all much much better. I bought it as a bundle with the camera body; I would recommend buying body only and avoiding this lens. If I could return this lens for refund I would. The M6 on the other hand is quite good.

The manual steering wheel is a little bit wobbly... Doesn't effect anything though. No official packaging but nicely warped in bubble wrap. Thank you!

I wanted the smallest zoom lens I could find for my EOS M3 and this fits the bill. It's size is great and keeps the overall system very easy to carry around with you everywhere you go. The quality of the glass is great. Images are tack sharp at all apertures. And distortion is kept to a minimum. The build is mostly plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap and contributes to its overall very light weight. It has the same feel and finish as all the other EF-M lenses. It's IS system is nice and effective and autofocus is quick with this lens as well. The downside is the rather slow aperture speed of this lens. But I understand that is the compromise needed to get it to this size (roughly a little more than half the height of the EF-M 18-55). And I knew this coming into the ... This relatively new range lens is a perfect match for any M range camera and is now a stand kit lens for the M10 and is paired with the new M5. It is compact and with a wide short end (15mm) is great for land/sea/city scapes. For ''street' shooting, it's short zoom range and small profile, it is suble and unobstrusive. This gives a discrete method of being able to shoot pictures that are natural and un-posed. It has pernent IS which also helps with low speed low light shooting. All in all a very useful lens. Great
We also bought the Canon EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera with 15-45mm Lens that came with this lens. Unfortunately, the lens was not put away correctly and became cracked and unusable. We realized that lens is not cheap and quite the investment when shopping around. Thankfully, B&H understood this somewhere in the universe, and we could buy the same lens to replace the broken one.We host live events and do media training, so the camera captures videos and pictures to show off our best work. If you're looking for a great starter camera, the Canon EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera with 15-45mm Lens is an excellent choice. We were recommended this camera to record shows on, and we do not regret this purchase.
I am always hesitant to purchase kit lenses, but I did a lot of research on this one and it had good reviews. I purchased it with the Canon M50 camera. I tested it on video and I was able to zoom in and out without a problem. I then tried the EFM 22mm lens, which was great for a nice, fixed view. I also purchased the mount for my EF lenses. I tried the 50mm lens as well. Overall, I decided this will be by go-to travel lens for still photography. I wanted something small and lightweight that works great. This one does the trick and I am very happy with that.I am not a professional, but I am a very strong photo enthusiast who doesn't want to carry around huge cameras and lenses on vacation. I am very happy with this lens.
I bought the M50 with this lens and the 55-200. I have been continuously surprised by the clarity and fast auto focus of this lens. Although I have several ef-s and ef lenses as well as a third ef-m now, I find this and the 55-200 used most often. This is a very good walk around lens and the super lightweight of the camera/lens combo have been so nice on my painful back. While I have sold kit lenses in the past because of their mediocre performance, this one will be a keeper for years to come.
Good: Small, light, compact, very sharp photos. Image stabilization works well. Lens retracts to make a very compact package. Not so Good: Lens retracts and you need to unlock and extend prior to use. Process is fiddily and takes more time than I would like. This lens is slow at f/3.5 to 6.3. I would like to have a lens in this zoom range and weight that was faster to get ready to shoot with a much faster f-stop. But the laws of physics have intervened. This lens and my Canon M5 is a light package that will be taken out of the bag much more often.
ok lens. sharpness in the corners is very bad at all appentures, does not cover 'shadowed' parts in any combination of ap/f , mediocre for infiniti (not sharp even at the center), may be usable for vloging at 15mm. made in taiwan, not japan. however, 11-22mm lens, that made in taiwan, wide angle one, does perform extremely well from 15 to 22mm. for portraits at 35mm this lens does also very mediocre job.
