Having owned the M1, M2, M3 & M5 series cameras, and all the EF-M Lenses (except for the lighted macro) I can say this is the very best EF-M lens to date. Took the 18-150mm lens on vacation and shot over 1600 pictures with it and the images were very good. I didn't see distortion or vignetting at either ends of the zoom range and the color was very good. I also shot images with the 15 - 45mm kit lens for comparison and didn't notice any quality differences. I'm not a professional photographer, but I do like taking a lot of pictures and playing around with the programmable settings on the Canon M50. I bought three of these lenses for myself and two of my adult kids.I like this lens. It's compact and light. I haven't really checked just how good or poor the image quality is but mainly I don't expect great image quality from a lens with this zoom range. I bought it as a light travel kit with a Canon M5 for me and M50 for my two adult kids.The only downside I see is the price at $499 and that the lens mount is plastic. For $499 one would think the mount would be made of metal even if it added an ounce or two in weight. And the fact you have to pay an extra $29 for the lens hood.All that said, I did buy three of these lenses.
The lens is as sharp as the rest of the M series. The issue is with the plastic mounting ring. I have the "old" 18-55 EF-M that has a metal lens mount. This was supposed to be a replacement. because of the greater range. Fortunately, the mount broke on my flight home from Japan. Canon replaced it since it was still in warranty. I still use this 18-150 extensively on my M6, however, my 18-55 is always near by on my M10 or M100 in case the 18-150 fails again. From what I see, this isn't the only lens in the M-series lineup that went to the plastic lens mount. I love the size of the M series since I can carry 3 bodies, with the 11-22, 18-55, 22, 70-300 (off brand), and a Canon 430EXIII-RTSpeedlite in a small gadget bag.

Amazing versatility and image quality in a compact low.cost lens. Of course the build quality is not the sam as in Canons L series but that was also never the intention. It focuses very fast on the EOS M6 MkII. Its small size and large zoom range make it a versatile companion for travel, possibly complemented with the compact EF-M 22mm f/2 for evening and night time. Obviously with a small f/3.5 - 6.3 this is not a lens for hand-held photography in low light. The pictures shows the lens compared to the much larger, heavier and expensive EF 100-400mm L full fram lens.
