I have been using my beloved Canon T3 in the past 15 years. Lately, the connection between the camera and the lense has been acting up. After reading a lot of articles and contacting camera repairs, I decided to go ahead and get a new Canon. I am above and beyond happy to have my new Canon T7 with NFC technology. First, I already know the quality and love Canon (many pictures taken by this T7 are available in my storefront). Second, this T7 save me so much time by simply turning on the NFC option and get all the pictures downloaded to my smartphone. I am not a photographer; just a person who loves taking pictures. This bundle was a great value. The bag has the perfect amount of space for what’s included as well as a couple extra lenses I have. My camera feels secure in the bag and it’s comfortable to carry and not too big and bulky. The camera itself is awesome. The clarity of the photos on the screen is fantastic. The quality of the photos is great. Only downside is sometimes when using the screen to view to take photos, doesn’t always seem to focus, but I prefer using the viewfinder anyway. And it always does great that way. I love this camera!

I highly recommend this brand/product. Canon cameras and equipment take really good pictures, and you can use them for many different types of photography. They are built to last and easy to use, but they can be a bit expensive. However, they’re worth it if you want great quality and plan to use them for a long time. In short, Canon is a good choice for photographers who want top-notch gear. An amazing first camera!

It's been a week since I bought the Canon 800D (T7i) with the 18-55mm f/4-5.6 and the 50mm f/1.8. This is my first camera I bought a week ago, and everytime I pick it up and use it I am impressed every single time. It feels sturdy and comfortable in the hands with some decent weight and a deep grip, which is impressive considering I'm touching plastic -- albeit polycarbonate. The buttons are in a reasonable location, not particularly clicky but they feel built to last and tactile. The touchscreen is very responsive and makes navigating the menus a breeze. Speaking of menus, it's thoughtfully laid out and there aren't a heap of options that the user isn't going to use. Speaking of menus, it's thoughtfully laid out and there aren't a heap of options that the user isn't going to use. Once I set up back-button focusing, image quality preferences (JPEG + RAW), ISO expansion, et cetera I don't find myself going back into the menus. I typically use single point AF, and it's incredibly fast and accurate, even in low light. However, in extreme low light conditions the camera can struggle, and will hunt for focus. The optical viewfinder in decently bright, but can be hard to use during the dark as it's a struggle to gauge focus. On a more positive note, the dual pixel AF is fantastic and it's as simple as touching the subject on the LCD and watching it track the moving subject. Effective, fast and simple. After taking a plethora of cat and beach photos, the image quality impresses me. JPEGs look lovely, with pleasing and natural colour in auto WB and auto picture profile. Noise performance is fantastic and is very usabe up to 12800, and there's a healthy amount of dynamic range in the CR2 files, making boosting shadows and controlling highlights easy as pie in post. Connecting the camera to my phone is super easy with the Camera Connect App, although it is a shame I can't transfer the CR2 files as well -- only JPEGs. But at least it doesn't reduce the quality. The 18-55 lens is great, with decent sharpness. Not amazing for rendering a very shallow depth of field, but it's good for the price. Unlike the kit lens though, the 50mm f/1.8 blows me away with it's sharpness and out-of-focus rendition, with a dreamy and beautiful blur. All in all it's a very nice camera to use, and it's output makes for some outstanding social media posts. I don't want to make it out like the 18-55 is not worth it, but if you do get the kit lens I would also recommend getting the 50mm 1.8 or swap the kit lens with it, as it pairs brilliantly with this great camera. Great setup, and I'm looking forward to improving my skills as photographer in the future with my gear.

Buyer Beware - Not as Advertised!

First, I haven't tried the camera yet, as the battery is charging. But, this is my second purchase of this "bundle" via the Walmart website. The first came with only the camera - no accessories. Walmart and I both tried to contact the 3rd party seller, OneStopShop, and never received a call back after at least 8 attempts. I returned the camera and ordered again, as it is the best price around. This time it took ElectronicsRUs two weeks to get the camera from Brooklyn, NY to CT (honestly, I could have walked to Brooklyn and back in 2 days!). If not, it goes right back and I never do business through Walmart 3rd party sellers again.In Walmart's defense, their customer service team handled my many calls professionally, efficiently, and pleasantly. I have nothing but respect for their CSR team. I am very wary of how the 3rd party sellers are vetted though.

Excellent as full HD webcam

I bought this 800D (same as T7i) camera specifically to use as a high-end full HD webcam with the EOS webcam utility using USB connection directly to host computer. I searched for any Canon EOS series that supported Dual-Pixel Autofocus with live-tracking face-detection that would work well with the Canon EF-series lenses that I already have. This model (which is not the current model) meets all my needs and was available at significant discount compared to the newest T8i model (which has additional features I don't need). I paired this 800D body with the EF 35mm f/2 IS USM lens (which is equivalent to 50mm on a full-frame body). The face-detection autofocus is better and faster than my 5D IV, or C100 II cinema cameras. Silent, fast, perfect focus, continuously, all day long. I use a dummy-battery with external adapter to power the camera from AC so I don't have to worry about battery life. The touchscreen flips-out and faces forward, automatically flipping the image so I can monitor what the camera sees (with data overlay and focus box). I am not using the Auto white-balance. There are limited options for custom white balance on this model, but I am using 5200K to match my light-source, and the resulting color, contrast, skin-tones looks really excellent. This looks as good as the 5D IV at 6X lower price! Audio: When used as a webcam, regardless of whether you connect an external mic or use the built-in mic - note that you will not get audio out of the USB webcam interface, or the HDMI out. So plan on using some other source, connected separately to your host computer for audio. This 800D will only provide the video. If you are looking for "clean" HDMI out, it is only possible to get this by turning-off all menu/info displays, AND switching-off autofocus. If you need the autofocus (the whole point of using the camera), then the HDMI out will have focus overlays. So I would not recommend using this as an HDMI webcam. The EOS Webcam utility over USB works very well, but does have noticeable latency. If you have the ability to delay your audio to the host, then you can get perfect lip-sync, even with the latency of the USB interface. I have not used this as an everyday DSLR, but I am quite impressed at the nice build-quality, great image quality, and nice compact size. I might consider this as a travel camera instead of the big, heavy 5D in the future.

Great compact & lightweight DSLR

After my old EOS 30D, this DSLR appears to be extremely compact and lightweight, great for long outdoor photo walks, feels nice in my hands. After almost 2 years of use, it still works perfectly. For a passionate amateur photographer - professional wannabe like me, it's a great camera. I am super happy with its features and the quality of the images. Nicely built and easy in use. The image sensor is awesome, even in low light conditions the images are stunning. 24.2 MP allows to produce very high resolution images, yet with narrow apertures the sharpness might be affected, depending on the settings and the lens used. The battery lasts for a very long time, can easily use it all day long or even a few days. But since there was the same issue on my old EOS 30D, I'm kind of used to it now and can take this into account. This problem is avoided than shooting from a very handy LCD touch screen, but I still prefer to use the viewfinder most of the times. The video quality is quite good, but the sound quality could be much better. Even though I mainly use manual settings, there are also a couple of automatic shooting modes that I enjoy to use sometimes: the toy-effect is a lot of fun to play around with and the night mode produces great quality night photos, way better than I can make with the manual settings and my technical skills so far. The self-cleaning sensor is also a big plus.

Great for beginners

I purchased this camera thinking I’d researched enough for what I wanted to photograph, but I was wrong. This camera is great for general photography such as landscape, portraits, food, flowers. What it is not good for is birds. The longer range lens stops at 250mm which is not nearly as much range as needed when trying to photograph birds, again that is my mistake. But considering it’s the cousin to a Nikon 300mm, canon could have added the extra 50mm to make it fair for the price. Now I got it on sale, but honestly I should have went with the Nikon and said forget the camera case (a reason I bought this set). The quality is not so smooth for the photos, expected from reading/watching reviews.
