I was so excited to get this new camera and it did not disappoint. After 10 years with my 7D it was time to upgrade and I was pleasantly surprised with all of the upgrades. 32 mp resolution; wificonnectivity; smartphone connectivity; 25,000+ ISO; -5 to +5 exposure compensation and so much more. The ergonomics of the body is perfect and, of course all of my lenses fit. I don't generally use it for video, but the capabilities of 90D for video sound amazing. I did test it for screen capture from video and was impressed with the results. If you don't want to spend the big bucks on the top of the line equipment, consider the Canon 90D. I have (2) other Canon cameras -- 6Dii & 7Dii. I use both of these for travel photography with different lenses so I do NOT need to change lenses in the field. I recently purchased a heavy' Tamron 150-600 lens for bird photography, and a very light weight (used) Canon SL1 to use with this lens.Unfortunately, this SL1 camera did not produce very good images, so I recently purchased a new 90D camera to use with this Tamron lens. I recently went on a 1 day field trip to a local bird refuge to try this new combination. I have not yet had the time to use this feature. The only feature lacking in this 90D camera body is no GPS location embedded in the image Metadata.Overall I am very pleased with the 90D and also with the quick delivery service I get from B&H.

Great gear. Nice employees. One camera (I can’t remember which one) had trouble reading an SD card while the others did not have trouble reading the same SD card (would say “card full” when it was empty). Otherwise, all the equipment worked flawlessly. For service improvement, it would be appreciated to have the ability to purchase rental insurance on site at self-pickup. I had decided to purchase rental insurance after my official purchase. When I went to pick up my gear but had yet to leave with it I asked about adding the insurance on. That request was denied and they said it wasn’t possible. The company missed a money making opportunity. Had I left already, I would have understood. Love Canon, this is my second digital camera. My other ones have been film, not ready to go mirrorless. The touchscreen is wonderful, and easy to use, it is great for adjusting your settings went out shooting.I try to use the manual mode as much as possible, unless I’m trying to grab an action shot or a picture of one of my pets.So far I’ve been shooting raw so I can make any adjustments in post editing. The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is because I could care less about using the video. I can do that with my iPhone if I want to,but now it’s standard with the newer models. My sister-in-law liked one of my photos so much, now she wants me to paint it. I guess it’ll be a Christmas present for her and my brother.
I treated myself to the canon 99d as an upgrade from the canon 100d which I had for many years. My lenses from my 100d fitted straight on to the 90d. I set the 90d up using my sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens on a low down tripod just to test it out and get used to the settings. I got some decent images of the moon. ( first time using the 90d. I love the fact that it has a touch screen and the screen folds out and rotates with ease which makes using the camera on a low down tripod much easier. The camera is heavier than the 100d but the quality of the images and functions on the camera are much better. I also like that the function dial for manual mode and scene selector mode etc has a button to press to enable you to turn the dial. It’s okay…I previously had a Canon 77d and went to this because I heard it was a better camera but my 90d caused me all kinds of headaches.I couldn’t use my 100mm macro L lens with it, even after the firmware updates. I heard of other people having the same issue but silly me bought the camera anyways. My macro lens worked perfectly with my 77d so it wasn’t user error….there was always some kind of focal miss when I used my macro lens with this body. It was my most used lens with my 77d and the continuous issues when I paired that lens with this body is what made me sell my 90d and move to a completely different camera system. When I paired this with my 24mm efs, it was amazing. The camera really shined with that lens.I had about 5 different cannon lenses (2 L series, 1 efs and rest regular) and 1 sigma 18-35m and the quality of images I got out of most of my lenses was better with my older 77d camera than they are with this new one. Maybe I just had a bad body, but there was always some kind of focusing issue when I paired it with certain lenses. If your new, or maybe just a causal photographer who doesn’t want to invest in a lot of gear, this camera will pair up great with a 24mm Efs pancake or the 50mm 1,8 and you’ll get a lot of good photos of the kids or backyard flowers and stuff but if you know your going to be serious and invest in quality glass, I would just skip this body all together and either go with the previous 80d or jump into their new mirrorless line and just skip this body all together.
Upgraded from a 60D to the 90D after doing lots of research. It works nicely with my EFS 15-85 3.5 lens. The menu layouts are a bit different but are easy to navigate through and setting up bluetooth and wireless worked out fine pairing with an iPhone. My 580EX II flash operate the same as on the 60D but at some point I will upgrade to a wireless R flash rather than dealing with the line of sight controlled by the on camera flash. When navigating through the settings a popup screen appears providing an explanation of the setting, which is a nice touch for beginners trying to figure it out. Oh dear, oh dear. What a mistake buying from this 3rd party company. This bundle arrived in generic boxes, poor packaging, no proper paperwork and with the serial number removed from an old Canon box. Red flag right there. Expensive 90D camera turned out to be an export only model with absolutely no warranty OR support from Canon. This fact should have been highlighted in the Walmart advertisement so the consumer was made aware before buying. Most of the bundle was at the lowest price point so you'd be far better off getting what you need after you've bought your camera from a genuine Canon dealer. Most of the bundle was at the lowest price point so you'd be far better off getting what you need after you've bought your camera from a genuine Canon dealer. A very poor-quality tripod that came with the bundle was a used item which was broken in multiple places. After spending nearly $1500 on this purchase and after many contacts with RedTag Camera, a measly $20 refund was offered as a courtesy payment (didn't even cover the cost of a low-end replacement tripod) and I was then told they would cover the camera for defects with their own warranty for one year. I have many doubts about this, and in my personal opinion, steer clear and save much heartache.
I simply can't say enough about the 90D. I use it for video, as a B cam to my A cam (R6).I absolutely love the APS-C sensor on the 90D as it allows me to turn every lens into a 1.6x further reach.I love that I can use the same batteries that I use for my R6 for this camera. I also love the quality that this provides given the price point. Some days I wish it had 4K60 instead of only 4K30, but in those times I just shoot in 1080p60.Biggest gripe is there is no C-Log in it, which forces me to shoot in standard profiles on both my R6 and this so as to make color-correcting easier. There was a time when my R6's LCD screen got broken and I had to send it back to Canon to get repaired. I would compare the quality of it to the new and upcoming mirrorless cameras from Canon.I'm considering upgrading from the 90D to the R7 for a few reasons...- 4K60- still is a crop sensor so it still has the extra reach on lenses- still the same batteries as R6- C-Log- to have a camera that doesn't overheat (on my R6 I can't shoot in 4K for very long)But I'm having a hard time wanting to buy another camera when this one has seriously exceeded my expectations. Great job Canon!
