I have had this printer for over a year and a half I am still hoping I will grow fond of it but unfortunately that is not the case. I have had the canon pixma pros for the past twenty years and every time they update it to a new model it gets worst. This model is very inconsistent, when it prints it is great but it seems to have a mind of its own. I use it in my stationery store for stationery, invitations etc.. and if it wasn't so expensive I would replace it.Just now I am printing foldover notes and half of them printed fine and all of a sudden it detects paper size incompatibility and stops printing. All I get is a blank paper. I have owned this printer for 5 months , the color is amazing and detailed. I even printed a 600x900 pixel web photo come out amazing.Save your money forget about the pro 300 or epson p700. those other printers are pigment printers , however the pro200 is just as. good in quality even black and white. the game changer is that the dye ink will last long pat 100 years even up to 200. SO that means you can use for archival business or photos u want to keep and hand down,Don take my word google search this printer u will get people love it. Only complaint doesn't support roll paper LOVE LOVE THIS PRINTER .

I owned a Pro-100 that just decided to be a jerk after 1.5yrs and not ever work correctly again no matter the fix. I went with Canon again and this Pro-200 seems more refined and has a nice feature to lock the print head when not in use or transporting.My very first use other than set up was an event photoshoot where on site printing was required. The starter ink included printed (5) 8x10's and (29) 13x19 prints before one of the colors ran out! That's impressive; I had extra cartridges on hand so popped it out and kept the part going.Only gripe is that this totally could have been a touch screen. I keep forgetting it's not and often am tapping it before I go back the dial...muscle memory will kick in.

Color prints are really good, too. Printer comes loaded with ICC profiles for all Canon photo papers, and you can add any other profiles you want. I use the Canon print software as an add-on in Lightroom.I'm using Canon photo paper, mostly Pro Luster and Premium Pro Matte for b&w prints, and I am very satisfied.I am very happy with the results I have been getting. Printing has made my editing better. I see things in the prints I missed on my computer screen. I make 5 x 7 test prints trying different edits before I make a larger print. I can do this at a reasonable cost.I highly recommend this printer.

I think what set this printer over the top are the apps that include arts and crafts and colander design and cards, etc. I receive these phone notifications of interesting projects that can be done with the printer and that is amazing. This to me is not a printer that is used for random projects, this is more of a specialty printer used for photos or work that has to have a certain look to it. There are other printers in the Canon line that are for the same but this is the cheapest one and is still on that level of quality images produced. It is big and it does not have a tray which is a little annoying but apart from that, it works wonderfully. Between that and the papers I chose, the pictures will last a lifetime for sure.
I've had my Pixma Pro 200 for a month. I was reluctant in the purchase of this printer. Simply because All the reviews I read were so good. I could not believe a printer could be this good. It has exceeded my expectations. Great colors and what you see on the computer monitor is what I am getting on my color prints. I totally recommend this printer if you print lots of color photos. The Print and Layout software is a little difficult to use. I use another software to edit my color photos.

This is one of many printers I have owned over the years. The instruction in the box were for an outdated model Pro 10/Pro 100. The printer was in the original packaging and never open before I purchased it. No, I have not contacted Canon Tech Support. This is not the fault of the well respected retailer I purchased this and most of my Canon gear from. I bought this printer to replace my Pro 9000 Mark II after I wore it out! There is really no excuse for this to happen. Any number of things could happen to cause this starting with QC! I am a Canon user since the days of Minolta. ... MoreI am a committed Canon user. Upgraded to the Pro 200 from the Pro 100 which I had purchased from B&H and have been using for 10 years now. So far very happy with the upgrade. Yes, I do notice much better blues reds and greens in the prints compared to the Pro 100. Thus far I have printed an 8 1/2 x 11, two 13x19's, and a 12x36 pano ( on Red River paper 13x38 sheet paper) and results are awesome. Also checked in usage and indications for each of the 8 tanks has hardly moved. Looks like ink usage will be less than the Pro 100. I plan to keep track of this in the future.All in all if you are looking to upgrade or are in the market for a new printer I can highly recommend the Pro 200. Of course don't buy it anywhere else but B&H. As always service and delivery are the best there is.
I debated buying the canon pro200 vs the 300. I read and view all kinds of video reviews on line. Bottom line, I wanted to print my photos in multiple types of paper, different sizes, great quality in color and B&W and was not afraid of having to work on or to try different presets or color adjustments to obtain the best result. I am not constrained by a client nor a deadline. I do photography as a hobby but still wanted great looking images at not an excessive cost. The canon pro200 has delivered in all aspects. I am so pleased with the results and, although its not priced at an "entry level" by any means, its price is quite situated in an affordable range for such quality results.
