Great Lens, Good service. The new Canon 1200 mm RF lens is amazing. I still can’t believe it weighs 1/3 of my 400.mmm f/2.8 lens. There was a slight mix up with getting me the lens on time. If it weren’t for the shipping error I would have given them 5 stars.

I am an amateur nature photographer, so I photograph mostly birds and mammals, often from way too far away. This lens helps to bring me a little closer to my desired models (birds and mammals) than my other Canon lenses.I purchased this lens from Bedford Camera, with the help of George Lepp, about a year ago. I love this lens when the air is clear and the temperature is cool.I easily give this lens 5 stars, as it's the only way that I can capture distant pics of birds and mammals that I would otherwise end up capturing as a small dot in my resulting pics.I really enjoy using the RF1200mm lens in conjunction with my RF 2x Extender, giving me 2400mm of close-up activity.Obvious downsides to the lens are that it can take awhile to find your subject in wide open ... MoreI am an amateur nature photographer, so I photograph mostly birds and mammals, often from way too far away. And, of course, heat wave distortion is a significant problem with this lens.An upside is that this lens also provides me the ability to capture some very nice stabilized video of birds and mammals. To summarize, downsides aside, I LOVE this lens and enjoy getting pics and videos of nature and it's numerous denizens.Good job Canon!

The RF1200mm is not as sharp as everyone says it is. At least not in my experience. I consistently shoot from a distance of 465ft away. I shot from a tower located in straight away center field for baseball. The distance from the tower to home plate is 465ft. All my photos, all come out soft. Never as sharp or crisp as they show. I'm shooting at f/8 at and no less than 1/4000 and no greater than 1/6400 to stop the action of a 90mph baseball being thrown by a pitcher. My setup is simple. I use my Canon R3 Mirrorless Camera, ProMediaGear GKJr Katana Pro Telephoto Lens Gimbal Head, and iFootage Gazelle TC7 Fastbowl Carbon Fiber Tripod. I'm shooting on bright sunny days but I still get good photos, but not the crisp sharp photos everyone else is displaying. Is anyone ... MoreThe RF1200mm is not as sharp as everyone says it is. Or is it just me? I really feel that I wasted my money renting the lens for 4 days. But at the same time that is the risk that you take.
The customer service was excellent and always included a twist of fun or humor. Their process to rent was quick and easy. Receiving and returning was simple. Condition of lens was brand new. I recommend using this color many for your rental needs.
I love this lens!!!! So far I have used it for wildlife. It is spectacular and focus on the eye is more than amazing!! The details are excellent! It is lighter than my Canon 800mm, and I love it, but this one is even better by a long ways!!
I was rent lenses from this company three times. So far no issues. Lens arrives one day prior my rental starts. I usually lease lens for a specific trip. For example, I went to photograph snow leopards, and I knew it’s not going to be close-up shots, so I rented 1200mm. There is no way, I am buying this expensive and very specific, one-time-trip lens.It also gives me a chance to try a lens, if I like it, I can buy it for the regular price, but minus rental price.
I had more than a few reservations about ordering this. My biggest concern was whether it really could be hand-held. Several videos implied that it could be, but I still wasn't sure. Even Canon hedged (understandably) by suggesting it probably could be hand-held, albeit not for extended periods of time. Well, I got this yesterday and, even though I don't have very strong arms, I was able to hand-hold this without too much effort. OK, the build, quality, features, etc. are everything (and then some) I expected from Canon. Naturally, the images it produces are great as well. OK, it's length (and cost) certainly are such that it's not something everybody will need (OK, I really don't need it either). But if you're wondering if it really can be used without lugging a tripod along, you can relax -- it's weight and balance are such that it really is a joy using it, and I expect I'll like it even more as time goes on.
the lens is very light considering the 1200mm it is sharp but not as sharp as a 28-70 however in photoshop you could make it a lot sharper this lens has such long reach that it is amazing especially with the 2x extender if you have a use for this lens and want to spend the money it is worth it
absultly the best lens.......... ..............................
