I had originally planned to buy these in January for our bedrooms. At the time I was ill and thrown off by the close to $90 bulk delivery fee for three rods (especially as the store is less than 2km away however, I do not drive). Instead of factoring in the cheap price and the delivery "balancing it out" I made the mistake to get extendable ones from another store, promptly sliced my thumb by an extendable rod which took 2 months to heal and which hurt my nerve. 5 months later, I finally bought these babies and could not be happier. Received in a timely manner. Though they "looked" thinner, unlike the extendable rods the 28mm finials I have fit BOTH ends perfectly, not loose at all. I purchased all the necessary fittings to hang 6my new curtains. One packet of brackets had missing components but I used the screw up the other end as a replacement. I also found that the curtain rod doesn't actually fit snugly I the brackets.
A lot of rods were 19 or 25mm wide. This is 28mm and I like the extra thickness. Looks good visually, very sturdy and cheaper than most, as long as you don't mind cutting it. I joined 2 (using the joiner purchased separately) and cut them down for a total span of 3.2m and they are great. Matt-ish finish to them but curtains slide very friction free over the rod.
