Sizes on this model run big. I have other Carhartt jackets and coats, spanning from the last 20years. They are all medium. So I ordered this in a med and it was huge on me. Sent it back for a small. I don't like how Carhartt changed to a vertical access inside pocket, this is were I normally keep my pocket pistol in my other Carhartts . Wish both inside pockets we're top access. Fill in the rear bottom already settling, they should probably quilt the insulation to prevent this. Wish they offered another model with discreet side access hand warmer pockets. Other than that it looks good.

Couldn't find this at any store near me. Ordered a large from TC and it seemed way to big, so ordered a medium from Carhartt and it fits way better. Sleeves are great length cause I have long arms, coat has good length too. Outer shell is solid and very good at blocking wind chill, inner liner is really nice, it's a lot softer than the liner they used to use which was rough. Would like to see that liner in the sleeves as well but maybe for durability the regular liner is better. Looks great and I'm sure I will enjoy it for years. I just need the hood for it.

Best chore coat out there! I like the great room in the neck and shoulders, easy use of the buttons with gloves on and the large front pockets allows you to reach in for items with your gloves on. I wore my first one for ten years of hard railroad construction work before it began to fray at the cuffs. I always enjoyed the black chore coat, I felt it was the closest thing to a sports jacket appearance that the working men could wear in harsh conditions! I would have liked to seen Carhartt continue the black color and have added a dark blue chore coat.

I'm 5'10", 155 pounds, 41 chest. I ordered a small, which fits loose enough for a button-up shirt and a sweater underneath. Right out of the box, the coat was very warm--I even broke a bit of a sweat during a 45-degree cold morning. The fabric is already substantial and I could tell right away it would take a long time to break in. Perfect! I decided to wax it. Have previously worn a large size. Ordered a large and it fit like an XXL size. Returned and ordered a medium and that is similar to previous large size but the sleeves are a half inch longer. Also the buttons are a cheaper design than Carhart used to use. The cheaper design buttons are difficult to button and unbutton due to their thin design. Disappointed in Carhart that used to be a great quality brand.

My original chore coat is an xl tall and I have worn for 15 years and loved it (still do). It is fraying around the edges like a good pair of jeans. I needed to buy a new one so I wouldn't embarrass the family. The new one l ordered the same size, it came and and was so big I sent it back. Well I down sized to a large tall, it's too small. Both new coats are of course made off shore. Quality control is non existent. I am dissapointed with Carhartt products and will not be buying any more. Man, if they only made them like they used to.
Purchased a medium regular coat to replace my 20 year old coat. I am 150 lbs. 5'-11" tall. Sleeves come down to my knuckles and bottom of coat touches my knuckles with arms straight down. I wear a 34" sleeve. The fit in the shoulders is fine and there is room for layers for cold weather. I would bet this coat is a medium tall and is incorrectly labeled. Other than the fit problem the coat is great, although I would prefer blanket lined sleeves. The coat was made in India. I have another jacket made in India and had the same problem with a medium regular being way to long in the sleeve. Some one needs to look into the specifications they are using in India. IO hope this coat shrinks when washed.
Not Carhartt's best effort. I am guessing this coat was intended to replace what I still consider to be thier best chore coats ever, which was the Full swing fleece lined chore coat they discontinued a few years ago. Sadly, they telegraphed the discontinuation of that product by switching at least for the last year it was available where it was made from Mexico to someplace in SE Asia. The cost made in Asia was of inferior quality. (Fabric wasn't the same, stitching not s precise and strong)I wish they'd go back to just making the highest quality work products instead of trying to cater to the poser fashion set. Why do we need to ruin Carhartt by making it a white-collar brand?

Ordered a medium at first but was swimming in it, sized down to small and frankly it's still large in the body but the sleeves are getting a little short for me which is a deal breaker for any cold-weather gear for me. This jacket is in no way a slim fit, or even a moderately tailored fit. Buy this if you want lots of room to layer underneath, if you need to fit a tool belt underneath, or if you tend towards a thicker build.As far as the quality, you could definitely do worse. This is probably one of the most competitively priced canvas chore coats on the market today and uses pretty decent materials in it's construction. The outer is an "unwashed" duck canvas (cotton) which should last a long time especially if you toss it in the wash every other year or so, but don't expect this coat to be waterproof. The stitching is good, very consistent throughout with no missed stitches or trailing threads on the coats I had delivered.I'd love to see this coat with longer sleeves and a wool liner, and a water-resistant coating for the outer would go a long way towards making this coat usable through the entirety of the shoulder seasons in the Midwest and well into the winter. Those adjustments could more than double the price of the final product though, so I'm really not complaining!
