Typically I wear a large in shirts and prefer a 35" sleeve length as I like longer sleeves. In Carhartt I wear a medium in all their tops, shirts, sweatshirts and jackets.I bought both the light blue and dark blue colors in this particular shirt. They are more or less a chambray work shirt and don't look as substantial and crisp as in the photos on Carhartt's site. I was expecting something with a slightly heavier fabric. These shirts are fairly light-weight and well suited for warmer weather. The dark blue was almost two inches shorter in the length of the body and sleeves than the light blue. I felt the light blue had a good length overall with the sleeves being just right. One thing I didn't care for in the cut was the curve of the cut at the bottom of the shirt; it is brought up on the sides creating a "U" shape design when viewed from the front or back. A straight cut would have been more my preference. The cut is a relaxed fit and tents out a bit from the body. A slightly fitted cut would have been nicer, but I realize I'm not the norm when it comes to body shape these days so I tend to pay twice to have my shirts fitted after purchase. The fit is comfortable through the shoulders and chest and isn't restrictive through movement. I washed these shirts on cold and lined dried to avoid any shrinkage. Prepare to spend some time with an iron and scissors. The amount of wayward strings on these shirts was reminiscence of basic training in the military and having to police my uniforms. I spent a good thirty minutes on each shirt just removing loose strings before ironing; once ironed, the shirts looked more presentable. These shirts also have the buttoned collar stays (not a fan). If you don't button down the collar the extra fabric used on the back side of the shirt to secure the buttons will peak through if you leave the top one or two buttons undone on the front of the shirt. Most likely I will be removing the buttons to remedy this .So there you have it, hopefully this review provides enough information for those that are seeking it. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be buying any more shirts from Carhartt.

I have bought about 6 of these in Blue and LOVE them and would give 5 Stars. Something about the fabric of the black color is different. It lists as 100% cotton but it does not feel at all like the blue ones which are comfortable in the hottest 100s weather. Not sure what changed from one color to the other about the fabric and perhaps it will wash out but I have already washed it twice and still feels like a Poly shirt.

I purchased two of these shirts.Pros - Fit well, comfortable, long tails, button hole at front bottom that is turned sideways to help prevent unbuttoned.Cons - fabric on one shirt faded in streaks within 2 washes, fabric wears out very quickly for Carhartt gear (I expected it to last at least a year but within a few months of wear both shirts experienced tearing of the fabric that when repaired only tore again right next to the repair).

My husband liked the first Carhartt shirt so much he ordered a second one in blue. Didn’t think the blue would be a nice blue but we are very pleased with it. You can’t go wrong with this shirt. I thought it might come out of the dryer wrinkled but I was pleasantly surprised, on a hanger straight from the dryer, no ironing necessary. Thanks for a quality shirt.Bernice
I thought I was ordering a long sleeve flannel shirt. Not what came. To me, flannel is soft and fuzzy. I have two Carhartt flannels hanging in my closet which I love. This is just a long sleeve summer shirt. Now the hassle of a return and refund. Never again.
Better in person than the on line photo. Quality material, lighter weight than a Carhartt work shirt, which is perfect compliment when wearing my boots. A loose fit small was a perfect size for my frame, as I normally am a medium size. (5'10" 157 lbs) Wish the blue stripe shirt was in stock but alas, Carhartt informed me my order had to be cancelled. My loss.
These are NOT “Chammy Shirts”. I used those words specifically when I Googled, found and ordered the XXL brown and dark blue believing they were. I was pretty ticked off when I opened the bag and found they are actually more like a pin striped dress shirt than they are a “Chamois Shirt”. They only get three stars because although they are NOT what I thought I was ordering but they are pretty nice shirts for the price and fit my 52” chest perfectly. If I was ordering pinstripe shirts to work in then they’d get five stars. So I’ll keep these shirts even though I was completely deceived by the ad.
Fits fine (L) for guy 5’9” 195 lbs. I wear large for more fullness. Since I’ve found Carhartt shirts I don’t wear or buy department store shirts any longer. They are more for younger, slimmer guys and are too tight. Also, this brand uses better materials and workmanship. I gave it four stars since it needs to be ironed for more dressier times than for just work. I bought the lite blue version.
It is impossible to buy a work shirt sized XL Tall in Australia. Despite Carhartt not shipping to my address in Australia, I order shirts directly from Carhartt's US website because this size is nearly always in stock. I'm happy to pay a parcel forwarder to send my order on to Australia. The shirt quality and fit are excellent. The midweight fabric may be slightly on the warm side when worn during a Queensland summer, but it's nice to have sleeves extending past my wrists rather than terminating on my forearm!
decent mid-weight fabric.very disappointed that logo is a label on the pocket instead of on flap as advertised; especially considering that my previous version of this same shirt had the logo tastefully and discretely embroidered in.i'm not going to be a billboard for the brands i wear; guess who's label is coming off?
