I bought a pair figuring I'll use for lighter weather (assuming around 35 -50 Deg F) and didn't figure on "layering up" with them so I bought a standard size, and not 1 size larger like I normally do if intending to wear a few layers.They are surprisingly much warmer than I expected.I wear thenm in freezing weather, as long as I'm moving around a bit and not sitting still.The canvass is very good and warm, it breaks heavy wind very well also..You really don't need an underlined for most occasions IMOI usually wear em when snow blowing my driveway in winter and running chainsaws cutting trees and firewood logs. There's no soft inner liner.The canvass is a bit stiff until gets broke in. .Quality rating from me is 5 STARSThey're EXTREMELY durable and well made, like all Carhartt gear.Perfect for working on farms, fields or around the house in cold weather or warmer too.I would highly recommend them.They're rugged and tough and keep you warm and safe in colder weathers.Keep in. So when I look for overalls I usually want some that are a little roomy in my hips which can be hard for me to find without them being too loose everywhere else. These did that perfectly! Initially I thought they might be bigger than I wanted, but after a wash and dry they shrunk (just a little bit) to the perfect size. I also like the material, it feels sturdy but it's not too heavy or stiff. I like the clasps on the straps; since they don't have the traditional button clasp, they seem like they will last a long time without breaking. For example, my chiropractor insists that I keep my wallet in my front pocket but my wallet hardly fits in my front pocket and if I did put it in there it would certainly fall out. They are a hassle to re-adjust if you're already wearing the overalls.I can't really conceive of any reason that Carhardtt would skimp on poker or suspender materials but that's happened with these overalls' I hope they fix these shortcoming one day. I'd love to have a pair of these for every day of the week, if only they were reliably functional

Front pockets are worthless. When I put my hands in my front pockets with fingers extended my little finger bottoms out in the pocket right where it joins my hand(about 2 1/2")and I have small hands and short fingers. I have other Carhartt overalls and the pockets are much deeper like the front pockets on a normal pair of jeans which are about twice as deep as these. My guess is these overalls are factory seconds and the reason for the sale price of 50% off. I only paid forty three bucks and change for them so return shipping would cost 25% of the purchase price. They appear to be genuine Carhartt overalls and other than the front pockets are normal Carhartt quality. Had I known about the front pocket issue I would not have purchased even at the sale price. I’ve been getting bibs for years and typically get the loose fit but I wanted to try the relaxed fit this time around. The one bonus for this one is the fit is more flattering. The pockets are mostly useless. I can barely fit a phone in the normal pockets. Anything else I put in them falls out. Even the pockets on the bit are fairly small. For the chest pockets, the only useful one is the zippered one. Both of the other pockets if you’re actually working you can’t keep anything in them. The second you lean over whatever is in there falls right out. I almost lost my leather man 3 times before I figured out the reason. I also dislike having the chest pocket instead of the usual zipper up the front. You always have to undo at least one of the straps to take these off, ... However, I just purchased a new pair of medium loose-fit black bib overalls from Cabellas and find the new strap-latching mechanism incomprehensibly difficult to use. I cannot understand why Carhartt would change a strap-latching mechanism that had heen used for generations, a strap-latching mechanism that was so easy to use and effective in securing the straps over my shoulders.It seems that everything that was once easy and effective has been "improved" and is now ridiculously difficult to use.I sent a note to Carhartt and suggested that Carhartt restore the previous hook-and-loop strap-latching mechanism and in the future remember the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."I ... I can tell they are amazing quality for working in just about any situation in, but I decided to take my pair as a top layer over fleece to Iceland in the winter and they were absolute perfection. I couldn't be happier. I will say the front bib covers more than regular bibs but I love that too, because the function is extra amazing. I even wore them through the airport, which was a small (and worthwhile) pain getting through TSA but afterwards I was free sailing and felt I couldn't have worn a more comfortable piece of clothing. So stinkin comfy! I suspect these Carhartt overalls are factory seconds. The front pockets are so shallow they are unusable. When my hands are inserted into the pockets they bottom out with my pointing finger barely covered and I have small hands. Nothing can be safely carried in these pockets without the very real possibility of losing the item. I have other Carhartt overalls including an insulated version and the pockets are much deeper and completely useable. Could be I was unlucky and received a one off defective pair of overalls but I doubt it. Other than the issue with the pockets they appear to be genuine Carhartt overalls with the same rugged construction you expect from Carhartt. I order my 4th and 5th overalls from Carhartt. Usually I go in to like a boot barn or something, and I get whatever they have in my size. So I can't be picky on a particular color. I have notice through out the years the flex fit is a good fitting size and is super comfortable. But with my last two purchases, I can't order up a rugged flex fit that is relaxed. My loose fit is way to big in the crouch. Like I am suppose to have flab there. I am a slim woman and I can't seem to relaxed sizes in these overalls anymore. How in the heck am I suppose to order a relaxed fit for these overalls? I might have to move to Ariat now. If you want the thick material and you need that for your work like I do. Stick to tan. Carhart is great for having women sizes for different sized women and it great, but its starting to favor bigger sizes. Im not some bored house wife who uses Carhartt just for show. I actually am a blue collar worker who needs durable clothing. Carhartt you have disappointed me with only having loose fit for these overalls, and cheaping out on the material. I will be returning my order in. I will keep wearing your brand until you change up sizes for you jackets and other clothing, but overalls and pants, I will have to look else where. I might get lucky with tractor supply and get a older year overall just in my size but that is a long shot. I was super excited with my new overalls. So look at your overalls people, if you like relaxed fit and never tried loose fit do not order its way to roomy and good luck finding the relaxed fit version of these overalls. Also do not order the work boot if you have wider feet. The boot sizes are only for narrow feet.
