SIZING: Carhartt pants runs small in the waist and long in the inseam. That means you usually need to Size up 2 sizes in the waist and go down one size in the inseam. For example: I’m usually a 29 waist with a 32 length in most jeans, and in these I heeded all the warnings about the weird sizing, so I got a 31 waist (so 2 sizes bigger) and a 30 length (which is definitely closer to 32) and they fit perfectly!Fit and Style: These fit like straight leg jeans, and the leg opening is just wide enough to not look as skinny as Levi 510s. The thigh area is definitely more snug and then the pants open up more as they reach the ankle. If you like your pants super loose or baggy, these are not the pants for you. If you are kind of thick in the legs, these might actually be ... MoreSIZING: Carhartt pants runs small in the waist and long in the inseam. If you are kind of thick in the legs, these might actually be nearly form fitting on you like Levi 510s are, but for my skinny legs they are much more like straight leg pants.Material: The material comes thick and stiff, but softens up after a few washes. I actually like the stiffness and it seems like these won’t rip and will last a long time.Opinion on Carhartt: In the past I’ve mostly ended up having to buy Carhartts more expensive brand ( Carhartt WIP) because the typically loose and large Carhartt sizing is INSANELY wide and loose (for pants and shirts). However, but with these pants I can actually buy the cheaper, normal carhartt brand and not feel like I’m swimming in them.I wish Carhartt made more stuff that fit like this, especially jackets and button ups, because I’m not sure who is wearing small and medium shirts with a 23-24” chest, but it’s certainly not the average guy.My only complaint about the actual product is that these pants are ALWAYS sold out. Everytime I try to get my size they aren’t available. Please make these more often, they seem to be one of the crowd favorites and are basically the only option besides WIP for us skinny people.

I have worn Carhartts for 30 years. I think these are the best pants they have ever made. Could they be better? Yes. But overall, these are fantastic.Key features: I have a large phone (Galaxy S23+) and it fits perfectly in the side pocket. Gusseted crotch. Should've been employed on all their pants 30 years ago. The crotch is always where it blows out and the gusset really increases durability. Back right pocket has a hidden zipper pocket which is a nice added feature. The knee darts, along with the gusseted crotch are a premium feature. Allows for when bending down that the pants don't ride up. Flex material, overall really well built. Lighter than Duck. The negatives (why only 4 stars): No hammer loop. I love my hammer loop. When my kids were little they used ... MoreI have worn Carhartts for 30 years. Just can't be work pants without that loop. Colors are lacking. Need dark brown. Tarmac and Moss are practically identical in real life.

These pants are not the quality they used to be.. I work construction and buy pants that need to be durable as well as comfortable, to be able to put up with the every day wear and tear.I bought 5 pair for each day of the Monday-Friday work week, so I'm not wearing the same pants over and over. I wash them properly so they don't shrink or dry out.Well, these pants disappointed me. They are flexible and comfortable, but they have been tearing VERY easily and I've only had them for THREE months.I have bought these pants in the past, worn them for much longer and they didn't tear, they actually just got too small which lead me to buying new pairs.I am very disappointed and feel as though I have wasted my money. Not worth it, Carhartt.

First off as a work pant these are very good. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of inconsistencies in sizing and color. I have been wearing 3 of these pants for over a year as a landscaper and haven't had any of these go out in the crotch or knee's which are common wear areas for other pants. I ordered a 34x30 in moss green and they were noticeably larger than my other pairs. Also the color tarmac and moss green as so similar they might as well be the same color. Now I'm not an insanely picky fellow when it comes to clothing a few washes in the hot cycle and these feel a bit more snug but it does give me pause when ordering items in large quantities because your already expecting to have to send a few back for sizing. Other than those two inconveniences these ... MoreFirst off as a work pant these are very good. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of inconsistencies in sizing and color. The Carhartt Rugged Flex Rigby Cargos are great for the first six months. If that. I’d like to preface by saying I work in a trade that doesn’t necessarily require a lot of crawling/kneeling or squatting. However, I still managed to stretch and tear out the inner thigh from squatting. I was expecting some better quality when it comes to carhartt and the amount of money carhartt charges for said pants. But these pants didn’t even last a year before they tore. They also seemed to fade and shrink within 3 weeks of washing. I wash warm and air dry.I then tried to send them back to carhartt to get repaired (they offer this free service) and got the classic company run around when I tried to get it done. Eventually they got to the facility, got sent back because they ... MoreThe Carhartt Rugged Flex Rigby Cargos are great for the first six months. If that. These are the only double-front work pants that I have found which meet my requirements. I am 5'11" and 155lbs, and the slim cut allows me to not look like I'm swimming in my pants. The fit me like a pair of pants should, without being too baggy. Crucially, they also do not have metal rivets like most work pants have, which is vitally important for me because I work on cars. Not having rivets means I don't to worry about scratching an expensive paint job, and it's surprisingly difficult to find pants without them. Lastly, they look and feel extremely well made. The fabric is thick and the stitching is great. I like these pants so much that I bought a second pair just as backup. Really some of the best work pants out there. My only criticism is that they are sized a little long. I have ordered pants with a 30" inseam for my entire adult life, and that's what I ordered these in, but they are about an 1 to 1.5 inches too long. Not a big deal, I just roll the cuffs.
I've bought Carhart pants and shirts for many years. I ordered these because I saw the canvas and the double-front work pants. These are not the pants that I expected. These are soft and feel more like cotton where as the pants I've purchased in the past were truly canvas and long lasting. Because of my back, I'm working on my knees quite often. The knees wear thru before the rest of the pants even look worn. I wish there were a triple knee! I'll wear these and see how long they last. This was probably my ordering mix up. Won't happen again.
Like a few others among the comments, I hoped these pants in the "Natural" fabric would work as a replacement for the long discontinued B-04 Double Front Painter Pants. They're not. Part of my disappointment is my own fault: I didn't notice that there was no hammer loop (good for rags) and no real tool pockets. They just don't seem designed for work. These are my frustrations:1. The fabric is kind of stretchy, designed to flex with movement. But I don't like exerting against fabric and prefer a looser fit. Also the fabric in "Natural" is a bit translucent -- when I wear dark color underwear it's sort of visible through the fabric.2. The double fronts are advertised as being compatible with knee pads, but it's ridiculously difficult to insert them through the ... MoreLike a few others among the comments, I hoped these pants in the "Natural" fabric would work as a replacement for the long discontinued B-04 Double Front Painter Pants. Also the fabric in "Natural" is a bit translucent -- when I wear dark color underwear it's sort of visible through the fabric.2. The double fronts are advertised as being compatible with knee pads, but it's ridiculously difficult to insert them through the cleanout hole., and removing them is even worse. The Carhartt brand kneepads are designed to be left in the pants, which would mitigate the difficulty -- but would also add $40 to the price of every pair of pants you want to set up.3. I've already mentioned the lack of tool pockets/hammer loop, but the cell phone pocket is kind of small. Anything bigger than an iPhone 7/8 won't fit.4. I bought a LOT of Carhartt gear over the years and they were always the standard for work wear. These days they're leaning more and more towards leisure wear, and that's OK if it's where the market is, but at least step up the game on the workwear. When the B-04s disappeared I switched to some innovative pants with built in kneepad pockets and tool pockets on the front of the thighs. That company was too small to compete and eventually folded -- but the design was great. I guess it's too much to hope for a return of the B-04 pants, but it would be nice to see Carhartt innovate a little: dedicated kneepad pockets, thoughtful placement of tool pockets and realistically sized cell phone pockets would be great.
After many years of wearing Carhart clothing, these pants don’t cut it. Cargo pants used to carry electrical items (phone, portable dac, etc., but they need to be protected. Look at frontal view and you’ll see the top flap is actually behind the cargo pouch opening (see my photo in their gallery). I missed it online and thought the two pair ordered were defects. This allows an wood chips from circular saws and chain saws can get into. And if outside in the rain, things can get wet. After many items from Carhartt, when these arrived I just tried on one pair for fit and put them in the washer, or I would have returned them with the misplaced cover - it even looks like it’s sewn on wrong. These are the most UNCOMFORTABLE pants i have ever worn. The pants are very stiff, as they provide little to no flexibility and limited mobility.I wear a size 32 which always leaves a decent amount of room with other pants. These pants are tight around the thighs and crotch area. I have washed them and wore them for over a year and they are still tough and stiff. The DURABILITY of these pants are exceptional. I work around jagged sheet metal which has shredded through normal pants and and into my thigh. The tough material of Carhartt rigged flex didn't even get a scratch against sharp points and edges.Carhartt used QUALITY material for these pants.
