Ordered a 34x34 size for pants normally ordered in 31x34. Fits perfectly - just enough waist room to fit over pants underneath bibs, then to move and bend. Length is just right. Quality is good.

I like the bib overalls since I'm in and outside all day. When I'm inside I can take off my coat and be comfortable, rather than being in the full coverall suit cooking. I made the mistake of thinking that overalls would take into account the fact that you would wear them over all your other clothing. I ordered my regular waist size and found it uncomfortably tight, also the inseam was too long. After a pleasant and painless return process, I went up one waist size and down one length size for a good fit. I would like it if the leg zippers went up higher as well, in hindsight I should have gotten the zip to waist style. The quality is top notch and the bottoms of the legs have a very rugged material at the bottom by your heal.

I have a big problem with the buckles that Carhartt puts on their overalls. The buckles on traditional overalls are made of good-quality buckles. I think Carhartt dropped the ball and should consider going with a traditional buckle.

I ordered these one size up from my usual. After washing them, I noticed the tag that said to order one size up and two if you planned to wear under layers. I tried them on with nothing underneath and they are way too small. Can’t even come close to buttoning them. Now I’m stuck with them. My bad for washing them before trying them on, but I assumed, having ordered a size up, that they would be ok. The snaps also seem very cheap.
Be sure to follow the recommendations regarding size. W - Go with two sizes more than normal waist size for jeans. Ie. if you use 36" - a 40" will fit you snug and perfect, not loose at all. L - Go one size shorter then your normal jeans size. You are wearing boots and they need to moove on the shaft of the boots, not near the sole.
I wear a 33-34" waist in my regular jeans and dress pants. I took the recommendation of other reviewers and Carhartt's fit chart and skipped up to the 38" waist. They are still a bit snug--no problem with a light underlayer, but I wouldn't be able to wear much more than that and still use both side buttons. At a minimum, give yourself 4" over your normal jean size. The inseam seems accurate, and the overall construction is exactly what you'd expect from Carhartt. These are replacing a pair I've had for literally more than 20 years. It was time...
I recently purchased a pair of Carhartt Winter insulated overalls. The sewing up by the waist buttons was poorly done. One side of the waist was reinforced and stitched well, the other side was unraveling on the pair that I bought. This was the only pair in my size and I only buy Carhartt. Our Tractor Supply does not stock enough Carhartt inventory. I wanted to buy the matching overcoat but it hasn’t been in stock for 2 years. I was disappointed that the stitching on the one side was unraveling and I was disappointed in the design of this side as well. It did not have a cross stitched “stop” or reinforcement (in case of unraveling) like the other side of the overalls. Still the best winter overalls in my opinion.
THis is not the first purchase of this overall. He wore it the last one over several years so they are well made and function very well. The zip to the hip is one of the best features plus the pockets, construction and warmth. Wish you had the green in the zip to hip because that's what he wanted but not available. Black is a good color and doesn't show the grease and coal stains like the brown. Highly recommend!
It’s what you would expect with the classic carhartt bib overalls, keeps you warm & also tough enough to work construction in, was working in single digit temps yesterday & these kept me toasty. It does however run a little small. A size up or 2 in the waist & a size down in the inseam should be good. I usually wear a 34x32 in my everyday jean size, & and a size 36x30 fits me perfect (I do layer my regular work clothing under these).
i bought these as a Christmas gift. the quality is outstanding. just what you expect from carharrtt. so these run on the bigger side . due to being able to adjust the straps keep in mind and order 2 inches shorter in length. waist measurement is true to size . the cool thing about these is you can tighten them down around the inside of the ankles. also they are not overly bulky and you are able to move around freely in them.
