THE BEST POINT OF THE WATCH IS THE 10 -YEAR BATTERY. THE BAD PART IS THAT IT HAS 4 BUTTONS TO SET OR ADJUST TIME, SO IT'S NOT SIMPLE TO SET. IN ORDER TO LEARN WHICH BUTTONS YOU NEED TO SET AND ADJUST THE WATCH, HOW MANY TIMES YOU MUST PRESS EACH BUTTON, AND IN WHICH ORDER YOU MUST PRESS THEM, AN INSTRUCTION IN SMALL PRINT IS INCLUDED. YOU'LL NEED IT! THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR HELP; THE WATCH IS JAPANESE, SO ONLY AN ADDRESS TO CASIO OF TOKYO IS GIVEN I DON'T NEED A CHRONOMETER NOR THE TIME IN MANY OTHER CITIES, BUT THOSE FEATURES ARE INCLUDED IN TINY CHARACTERS ON THE WATCH FACE. THEY ARE ALSO COMPLICATED TO SET, BUT IF YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE AND THE EYESIGHT, THEY'RE AVAILABLE.

A great watch for very little money

I know that the all black is the tough one to read. Black background with white letters in the digital are next to impossible to read unless in direct sunlight. I knew that going in due to a couple G-Shocks I own. I just loved the look of all black. Keeps good time and the analog is a quick read which is my main desire. Oddly, when I set the time the analog is exactly one hour faster than the digital. I still have to figure that out! The World Time and G-Shocks are fun watches. The World Time are a fraction of the cost. I use them primarily when cycling.

Can't beat it for the price

It didn't get five stars only because these are returned and repackaged products, the ads give the innuendo that they are G-Shock, which they're not but for all intents and purposes are, they do not stipulate what type or longevity the battery is and are very difficult to locate on the web because they are a very special model set aside from the G-Shock brands. Other than that I am completely satisfied.

Casio 5479 watch

For $30 it is doing its job. I use it for swimming and working in the yard. Owners manual is too small to read. Had to download it to learn how to operate the settings and change the time. Digital readouts are too small for my 59 year old eyes to see. Analog time is all I bought it for anyways.

I do really like this watch. It's comfortable to wear and I like the way it looks. Setting it up is pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions. Unfortunately you will need to find those yourself on the Casio website. Read them, once you have you'll understand what it does and how to get it to do what you want a lot easier. It would be a 5 star but it doesn't have any illiumination on it. If it's dark you won't be able to read anything on it. A good solid watch with one drawback. Is it worth the full retail price of 50, I'd have to say no, but I did pay a lot less for it. If you are prepared to not see it in the dark it's a good watch. Nice day to day tough watch.

Nice day to day watch. Easy enough to read although the date window is small. It's a very comfortable watch to wear but it can become a little warm in the hot weather. Certainly seems a tough built watch it's taken a few knocks as I always forget to take it off working on the car, it hasn't marked though. I wear it whilst fishing and the water doesn't bother it one bit. Keeping it clean with a quick rinse under the tap too. All in all I like it a lot keeping excellent time not lost a second. Oh that's a thing just wish it had a second hand.

Great price on this watch. But the operating features were very disappointing.The manual is absolutely tiny and nearly impossible to negotiate.It's extremely difficult to correct the time, especially during the recent daylight saving time shift.And it was very disappointing that there is no light function, like my several other Casinos.Despite the price point, it would be hard to recommend this watch to anyone else.

It's also water resistant to 330 feet.
